All I want for Christmas is another 5lbs.

Sunday, November 30th, 2008

I hit Chest today!  Only 4 exercises… but I cranked the weight (low rep, hi weight) because my workout partner was there to spot me.  I was able to go from the usual Flat bench DB Press 85lbs to 95lbs at 2 sets at 6 reps.  I short rep the last two but it was ok.

Workout:
Flat Bench DB Press 4 sets 6 -8reps (max 95lbs)
Incline DB Press 3 x 8 reps (max 80lbs)
Cable Cross 4 x 8 - 15 reps
Dips (hammer strength machine) 3 x 6-8 rep (220)

I’m still bulking, and I wanna add 5 more Lbs before Christmas. (185 lbs)
I haven’t taken any progress pictures…because I don’t have any abs.
I’ll post a few new pics before the end of the year.

When leg day runs SHORT!

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

Only 4 exercises into my leg day and my spotter wants to leave.  SUCK FEST!  In his defense, he cut the back of his knee on a metal hook at work.

I refuse to ever let someone cut my workout short.  Especially when I’m in the zone.  Next time, I need to have him meet me at the gym, instead of riding up there with me.

Hit a new high on Leg Press : 630Lbs at 6 reps.
That was after Hacksquat.

The workout was:
Hack Squat
Leg Press
Seated Calf Raises
Stiff Leg Deadlift

Only 4 exercises.  Only 40 mins.

If this keeps happening, I’ll only call him on Chest day when I need a spot.

Only 2 sets on Deadlift - Back day

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

Yesterday I went early and hit back in the afternoon at 24hr fitness.  I hit 275lbs on Deadlift again… and I really think it’s time start wearing a belt.  I wanna go heavier, but I want to make sure my back is safe.  As for the rest of back day:

Pullups
Deadlifts
Row (cable row) - narrow grip
Lat Pulldown (cable)
Machine Back Row

Then it was off to the sauna. (5 minutes)

Yesterday, slow Leg workout

Friday, November 21st, 2008

Got to the gym late but I was determined to do a leg workout.  Squats, Heavy Leg Press, Seated Calf raises, Leg Curls, Stiff-leg Deadlifts, Leg Press (hi rep - full range of motion)  Then I went to the dry sauna.  currently I’m 180lbs and growing.  The goal is to hit 190lbs by Feb 2009.  I’ll have to load some new progress pics this week.

Drunk off of Deadlifting - Back Day

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

I just finished back.  Pre-workout drink was SuperPump250.  After warming up on lat pull, I went to Deadlift.  And going heavy made me dizzy after each set.  I was able to continue the next set but again it left me dizzy.  After I was able to get my head straight, I went on with my back day as usual.  I’m not going to guess what caused the dizzy-ness but I may have had something to do with my shortage of carbs today, or lack of protein.

I’ll work hard to eat right tomorrow… leg day.

Good Chest day

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

So I worked chest… without my spotting partner (as you guessed).  So I couldn’t go as heavy as I usually do.  But I ended up getting more exercises into my routine.  Also got a chance to talk to one of the bigger guys at the gym and get some much needed encouragement.

"Eat Big - Lift Big"  Breakfast, and post workout meal are the most important…

With that I’m motivated to get back to eating like I did when I put on 20lbs!

Making it through Leg Day…

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

My goodness, leg day was good tonight.  I can’t understand how I made it through it.  Maybe it was the SuperPump250 but the routine seemed really intense.

Leg Press, Calf raises on leg press, Hack Squat, calf (machine), Smith Machine Lunges, and 3 sets of "knees to chest" leg press (hi rep + low weight).

I could hardly walk to the dry sauna afterwards.  I can only imagine how my legs will feel tomorrow.
