300 lbs!

Well I passed the 300 lb mark (305) on the bench.  I know that probably is not a lot on a weight lifting site but for me that is a huge mark.  I am already trying to figure out what I need to do in order to hit 350.  I think my main problem is that I can not seem to get enough food into my body.  I am tall, 6′3′’, and with being in Iraq getting lots of food is a problem.  I hope to have a 350lb blog up here shortly.

Going Up Fast

Ok so I have now been back in th gym pretty steadily for the past two months.  I cannot believe the progress I am making.  I have exceeded all of my weight lifting goals so far.  I wanted to reach 250lbs on the bench and I just pushed 280lbs.  I am not sure if it is good to move up that fast or if it is just the hard work me and my work out partner are putting in. I am excited though.

Playing Catch-up

Well I got back from Iraq in October and thought I was going back in December so I thought I would take a break and enjoy being home for two months.  Well the two months turned to four and I never went back to the gym.  Now I am back in the gym lifting a lot less than I did in October and I now weigh 218lbs.  Don’t think I will take a break like that again.

Dropping the Weight - Not

Well I know that muscle weighs more than fat and that I have been putting muscle on pretty well over the past month and a half but I can not get below 200lbs.  I know I am dropping fat because my legs used to be blobs but I am now getting some definition but man I really want to break 200lbs.

Man I love going to the GYM!  Chest/Tri day.  Had a great workout today. Did Dumbbell’s for my chest 10X75lbs, 10×85, 10×90, and 9×90!!! that is more than I usually lift on the barbell.  Also I do Bench - Decline - Incline and normally I drop way down after the Bench (to like 45-50lbs) because my muscles are dead.  Today I kept it up on the decline (10×75, 10×75, 6×85, 9×85) and on the incline did 10×55 twice and 10×65 twice. I love Chest days.

Don’t really know what I did on the tri’s our cable machine has no weight numbers on it but I am almost able to do the whole stack on pushdowns(for 10 reps) 2 more plates to go.

Three Week Cycle Complete

Well I finished my first 3 week cycle with the Animal Staks.  I think for not being able to hit the gym on a regular basis and having shit to eat I did pretty good.  I didn’t do a one rep max on all my lifts but I can tell a huge difference on all of them.  I am going to try this cycle again once I get home and can keep up the routine and eat right.

Next up … see if I can drop 10-15lbs

Great Chest Day

Missed the gym for a few days so I combined chest/tri/bi’s in one day.  had a great chest workout.  When I started the three week cycle I had a one rep max of 165.  Last night I did 10 reps @ 135, 4 @ 185, 10 @ 155, 9 @ 165 so I have really improved on the chest.  I think I am going to try my one rep on Saturday and see what I can get up.

Back to the Gym

Well I haven’t made it to the gym in about a week.  Can’t wait till I get back home and can work out on a regular basis.  Did Bi’s and Backs today had a good workout.  Did 90lbs on the standing eazy-bar curl and 70lbs on the preacher curl.  Tried a new machine for the back and really liked it but can’t remember what it was.

Had a good chest and tri workout tonight.  Did more on my bench this time for a whole set than my 1 rep mark is.  I think I am going to have to change that.

Working out while exahusted

Well plans changed so I was actually able to make it to the gym today(about 10pm)  Didn’t really want to come after being out in 120 degrees and dust all day but didn’t want to miss it either.

Ended up having a great workout (Legs/Shoulders)  Tried the Arnold Press today.  I like that one so I think I will incorporate it into the workout.  Did Hack Squats followed by Smith Machine Squats and it really gave my quads a good workout.  On the Leg Curls I maxed out at 155lbs for 1 set of 10 and 1 set of 5 followed by 5 more at 125.  That is pretty good I think more than I have done before. 

Well I am crashing now tomorrow is coming too fast
