November 20, 2009

I’ve been seeing some improvements since altering my training technique. It’s in places I wouldn’t see much growth in too. In fact, I’m going to stop typing soon because my arms are killing me! :)

I’m at a point of confusion in my training. I’m going to almost double the cardio I’m doing, however I’ve been told that it’s impossible to gain muscle while cutting fat. I don’t need to be as large as I am now again, in fact I need to be very lean for my next undertaking. I would still like to see muscle gains but I would also like to cut fat… Basically I need to almost triple my current running capacity, and I would like to add a lot more to my bench. I have to be able to pass a military PT test and the Federal LE PT test!

For Those in Central Illinois…

August 24, 2009

If anyone in Central Illinois mountain bikes or is interested in trying it out I would like to organize a group of people to ride the Rock Island Trail. Most of it is pretty simple, thus it is a great ride for beginners. Here’s a link if you are interested: Rock Island Trail

Just let me know if you are interested.

My schedule is going to very busy for the next few months. I don’t know how much time I will have to update, I’ll only be bale to log on from time to time. Starting in November I have to start a severely different training program. My major is criminal justice so I’ll have to start preparing for PTI. That means being more lean and fast than the bulk I need for football.

I’ll catch you guys later!

I’ve been sick for about a week now. It was so bad I went to the doc, he told me take some pills, and just wait to get better. I’m counting this as one of my dead weeks. Camp starts AugustĀ  17th, all the time I have is precious. At least I’m getting the sickness out of the way before practice starts.

I’m still trying to find some quick and easy protein sources for when classes start…

Only about a month and a half until football starts. That means, including dead weeks, I only have about 4 weeks to lift. I don’t know how many gains I can make in that time, but I know I’ll bust out more running. The bulking period is over and now I have to focus on speed! Coach had be sprint 2 days a week, but I think I’ll have to go for more! I know I’ve been lifting for a while, but summer has just felt like a waste of time for me…
My new cleats came in finally. I’m trying to break them in, I’ve always had good luck with Nikes. To me other cleats, especially Adidas, have always felt a little too narrow.

I’m done with my loading phases…

I had about 3 hours of sleep yesterday, and I couldn’t get back to sleep at all. I tried to lift after being at work all day (and being all kinds of busy the day before). It was probably the worst I’ve done in a long time. I sat down on a bench in the locker room and kind of wanted to fall asleep there… I’ve decided I’m going to do more lifts to try to encourage chest growth, maybe some flies and such. I’ll tell you how that goes.

Yesterday was my first day on creatine and a NO supplement. I feel it was kind of wasted due to my lack of sleep. I’m going to give it a shot today and hope for the best. Still taking a multi, fish oil, cayenne, and protein. I’m using the last of the protein I had, and then I’m going to switch brands. Any supplement suggestions? I’m trying to avoid caffiene and anything else that is banned by the NCAA.

I applaud most anyone that goes to the gym. Even if you can’t lift much, but you go and work your hardest, it still shows that you are trying. The last few times I’ve worked (I work in a gym) or lifted one guy has been up in the gym "lifting." Basically he loads up a bar, does a set, wonders around, then moves on to his next lift… I have yet to see him actually rack his weights. Just today he left out 3 different sets of dumbbells. Yesterday he had what I can only assume is a brother lifting with him, they looked a lot but one was blonde whilst the other had brown hair. They were both doing the same thing! Is there a gym that teaches how to be a douche in the gym?

You ever notice the guy that acts like he has been doing some hardcore lifting, but when you really watch him he maybe does a set or two with mediocre form? I saw a guy who was acting like he was a record setter in front of the machines. He placed his bag infront of one machine, a muscle mag on one, and then sat down at another. He was taking up three machines, and wasn’t doing anything!

I feel sorry for the last person I’m going to mention. He says he used to powerlift until he hurt his back. Whilst working I watched him, most of his time in the gym consisted of two lifts, and then talking to teenagers about how he used to be a powerlifter. Most of the time I see him in the gym, he is talking and sitting down on a bench.

My lifting has been doing alright. My legs are still seeing a lot of growth, while my chest has slowed down a little. I changed up my chest routine again, I hope that will help jump start my pecs again. I have three major trouble areas on my body: Lats, pecs, and biceps. Areas like my forearms, and calves just seem to keep growing on their own when most people seem to have trouble in those areas.

Football season starts very soon…

I got my football number today! Good ole 68! Coaches liked me. They said they would like me to play offensive line, even though I’m more of a defensive kind of guy. Meh, as long as I get to play I’m happy.

I’ve tried changing my lifts around a bit. I think I was doing too much on certain days and not enough on others, this seems to be helping me out a lot.

I’ve changed the timing of when I take my supplements too. That feels like it’s helping.
