THE 200TH BLOG. ARM TRAINING, MOTIVATION, AND MORE.

200 BLOGS.  I HAVE GONE FROM A NOBODY TO MY NAME BEING KNOWN THROUGHOUT THE GLOBE IN 200 BLOGS.  I AM STILL AMAZED WHEN I THINK ABOUT IT.  I HAVE COME A LONG WAY AND IT WASN’T POSSIBLE WITHOUT A LOT OF SUPPORT FROM A LOT OF PEOPLE INCLUDING ALL OF YOU.  THANK YOU ALL.

I HIT THE GYM TODAY AND DID AN ARM WORKOUT WITH STELLA.  HER TRICEP WAS BOTHERING HER AND SHE DIDN’T WANT TO CHANCE REINJURING IT SO I WENT THE SECOND HALF OF THIS WORKOUT ON MY OWN. HERE IS WHAT HAPPENED.

HAMMERS 30 X 15, 40 X 12, 55 X 10

DB SKULL CRUSHERS 25 X 15, 30 X 12, 40 X 10

INCLINE CURLS 25 X 15, 30 X 12, 35 X 10

STRAIGHT BAR PUSHDOWNS 125 X 15, 150 X 12, 175 X 10

CABLE BAR CURL LYING 100 X 20

ROPE EXTENSIONS 100 X 20

I WAS HIT WITH EXTRA MOTIVATION TODAY BECAUSE I DECIDED THAT I AM GOING TO MAKE THIS MY CAREER.  I WANT TO MAKE MONEY IN THIS INDUSTRY.  I AM DAMN SICK AND TIRED OF HAVING TO GO SLEEPLESS AT NIGHT TRYING TO PAY ALL THE BILLS.  I WANT TO LIVE COMFORTABLY AND I WANT TO LIVE MY DREAM OF BEING A BIG NAME IN THIS GAME.  MY TIME IS GOING TO COME AND I AM GOING TO HELP A LOT OF PEOPLE THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE WORLD GET IN THE BEST SHAPE OF THEIR LIVES.  I WANT TO DO WHAT I HAVE BEEN TOLD I CAN’T DO.  I WANT TO GIVE TO THE FITNESS AND BODYBUILDING GAME BACK WHAT THEY GAVE ME.  I WANT TO KEEP MY BILLS PAID AND KNOW THAT I CAN SLEEP AT NIGHT BECAUSE I PROVIDED FOR MY FAMILY AND HELPED A LOT OF PEOPLE CHANGE THEIR LIVES AT THE SAME TIME.  THE NAME ROGER "ROCK" LOCKRIDGE IS GOING TO BE KNOWN FROM THE US TO JAPAN AND BACK AGAIN.

MY TIME IS NOW.  IF I DON’T DO THIS NOW, IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN.  WHETHER I AM A TRAINER, WRITER, WHATEVER IT TAKES.  THIS IS GOING TO HAPPEN.  BANK ON IT BECAUSE I HAVE NEVER WANTED ANYTHING SO BAD IN MY DAMN LIFE.  I WILL DO WHATEVER IT TAKES.  2009 WILL BE THE YEAR OF THE ROCK.

12 WEEK SERIES: LEGS IS UP AND CHEST IS COMING!

FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT HAVEN’T BEEN ON IN A COUPLE OF DAYS, MY 12 WEEK SERIES HAS BEEN UPDATED WITH THE FIRST LEG WORKOUT.  YOU CAN CHECK IT OUT ON MY PROFILE OR ON MY YOUTUBE PAGE.  WWW.YOUTUBE.COM/ROCKLOCKRIDGE  IF YOU WATCH, PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK.

NOTHING IS EASY IN THIS LIFE.

Anything that is worth having is not going to be attained easily.  You are going to have to go through a virtual Hell to get what you want.  How bad do you want it? Because you have to want it like your life depends on it.  You must give all that there is to give to reach that brass ring.

You have to do what the other guy is afraid to do.  You have to do the insane and the impossible.  But you will do that because NO ONE wants this as bad as you do.  You get up for it, you eat for it, breathe for it.  Everything you do during the day is somehow influenced by it.  You know that and relish it.

Be the measuring stick to which everyone else is compared.  Be the new standard.  If you want it that bad, you won’t have a problem doing it because you know what everyone should know.

Nothing…nothing worth having is easy in life.

Chest and Legs Both DONE!

I am going to do my best to have both the chest and legs videos up today.  They were two great workouts.  Here is what went down.

Chest

Flat Bench 135 x 15, 185 x 12, 225 x 10

Incline DB Press 55 x 15, 70 x 12, 100 x 10

Decline BB Press 135 x 15, 185 x 12, 225 x 10

Seated Cable Flye 30 x 50

Legs

Squat 135 x 10, 185 x 8, 225 x 10

Leg Press 335 x 15, 425 x 12, 605 x 10

Standing Leg Curl 15 x 20

Lying Leg Curl 70 x 20

Hack Squat 135 x 50

I am glad to see progress with the squats and leg press.  I want to ultimately do squats with 225 for 20 reps and leg press 1000 for 10 reps.  I felt 100% comfortable training legs for the first time in a long time.

ADVERSITY: ANOTHER STEPPING STONE

It can come in many forms.  It could be illness, loss of money, loss of a job, or God forbid a loved one passes on.  Adversity is around us at all times.  It is relentless, careless, and does not concern itself with who it affects directly or indirectly.

This is why we must do all we can to overcome adversity.  It is difficult often, but any type of adversity can be overcome if you are more determined that it is.  Nothing must stop you from doing what you set out to do.  Whatever it is you start, you must always finish.  You can not let adversity win.  Regardless of how big the adveristy is, your will, your determination, and most importantly, your support and love from those around you will ALWAYS be stronger.

What is on the line?

What is on the line for you when you go train?  What are you eating six to eight meals a day for?  Is it the six pack of abs you see on every magazine cover?  Are you in need of twenty inch guns?  Do you want to bench 500?  Are you entering your first contest or your tenth?  Twentieth?  More?

Is it the challenge and the winning that drives you?  Could it be a marathon or a sport?  When you get up on the morning and do cardio, what is the first thought that motivates you?  Is it impressing frined?  iS it impressing yourself?  Are you doing it as a bet?  Why are you putting yourself through the agony?  Is it something more important?  Is it for your friends?  Your family?  Are you just in search of a better quality life and this is all you know that is working for you right now?

Is it for a fight?  Is it for defending your honor?  Your country?  Are you doing this for self-respect?  At the end of the day, after all the calories, weights, running, water, and logging, when you lay your head on that pillow, why do you want to get up tomorrow?

What is on the line for you?
