okay so this past week, i was really bad. i mean, i went to the gym 4 days out of the 7, but didn’t eat according to my diet feb 2-4. for the record, i messed up not because of lack of will power, but because i ran out of protein and groceries and didn’t make time to get prepared. i really hope this doesn’t throw me too much off track. i am back on my game now though and that is most important. i still have about three weeks until my first check-in for the challenge. i work best under pressure anyway so let’s do this! word.

thursday - i worked this morning, then came home and did some cleaning. finally made it to the gym around 8pm. started off with a mile jog, followed by dips, pull-ups, side lateral raises, tricep pushdowns, and cable curls (yes just like last week…i realise how redundant this is getting). i’ve gotten stronger in all areas just from last week, however pull-ups seem to be my slowest progress thus far. maybe i’ll include a "weak point" weight training day on a day that i just do cardio?? well anyways, after my weight training routine, i reeeally didn’t wanna do cardio, but i kept thinking about how much i wanna win this challenge and about how guilty i’d feel having to write in here that i left the gym without doing so. haha seriously! this journal keeps me in check yo. yeah, so i jogged (at some points ran) about another 3 miles and called it a night!
tomorrow- scheduled a double. i’m setting my alarm early enough to cook my meals for the day. i hope that pans out. not sure how i’m gonna fit in my workout : ( i’m hoping to get a break and go then. my gym closes at midnight on fridays and saturdays. worst case scenario, i use tomorrow as my off day and do it sunday. but damn, i’m a freakin double then too! i’ll figure it out..
p.s. i’m STARVING like chris farley in that skit where he plays a fat girl on snl. except i’m not eating fries : [ hahaha night night!

day 8-tuesday: off work today : ) woke up and was extremely productive around the apartment. then went to the gym and did 45 minutes of jogging. no weights today. also went grocery shopping, and
day 9-wednesday: i woke up with tons of energy today due to…well doesn’t matter ; ) i had lunch with two of my bestest girlfriends siobhan and screff and didn’t cheat. then went hiking with my good friend shawn for my cardio. i rememeber reading somewhere not to include recreational activities as cardio, but we jogged the entire time…it was rough! and like 45 minutes, so i counted it. after that, i went to the gym for lower body routine. i am really trying to concentrate on form rather than lifting heavy. had a great workout : ) then went to work.
tomorrow: work in the morning, cardio and upper body afterwards

day 6-saturday : i worked a 12 hour shift this day unexpectedly. was supposed to do cardio, but gym was closed by the time i got out.
day 7-sunday: i was scheduled a 12 hour shift. sundays are my off days from the gym, but i would really had liked it if i did cardio since i missed out yesterday : [
day 8-monday: off from work. sooo tired from working two doubles back to back. i only did upperbody routine, no cardio. weighed myself at the gym and found out that i have lost 6.2 lbs : ]
i feel pretty good about week 1, but keeping this journal shows me that i have lots of room for improvement. i’m doing good though. doing good.

today was overall good. i only ate 4 out of my 5 meals…don’t think i’ll be getting to the last meal seeing how it is already 2am. another late workout tonight. didn’t make time to go before work, so took my stuff with me again. by the time i got to the gym, it was 11:15pm. i started off with a 5 min jog for warm up. followed by deadlifts, leg press, lunges, and shrugs. the gym closed at midnight so i finished up with last set of lunges, shrugs, and 30 min of cardio at my apt gym. the workout i’m following also calls for seated calf raises, but i am not going to do them because i already have man calves with all the jogging i do. any opinions on that?
time for bedddd..
tomorrow: work from 11am-5pm and cardio…no weights.

today i met lauren at the gym for upper body. sometimes we workout together, but today we kinda just did our own thing, which is fine by me. i jogged a mile for warm up, followed by dips, pull-ups, side lateral raises, tricep press downs, and cable curls. by that time, i had to go home and get ready for work. since i didn’t have time for cardio, i packed my gym clothes and decided to go after work. unfortunately, that ended up being around 12:15am because i got stuck with the last table, who decided to stay there and chat even an hour after we had been closed. so, even terribly hungry, i made it to the gym. at the dezavala gold’s location, they have this cardio machine called the arc trainer, which is way better than the elliptical. i worked out for only 30 minutes and burned 435 calories! it was pretty intense. my upper body workout was sick too..i am looking forward to waking up sore.
same thing at work today, easily irritated and moody…but shook it off real quick. monday, i will make a week 1 video. can’t decide if i should post the videos now or wait until i’ve made some progress…any opinions on that?

today i tried getting up before work to do cardio, but that didn’t happen. i’m having trouble sleeping at night. didn’t get to bed until almost 4am. so i slept in, went to work, and went jogging on my break. i’d still love to get in the habit of doing my cardio before work though. something to work on.
i got all my meals in today, which is awesome. cravings are still out of control. i was extremely irritable and moody at work, which isn’t like me. but from what i’ve read, it’s typical for the diet i’m doing. just my body switching from using carbs for energy to using fats for energy. other than that, i’m still excited! i love waking up feeling lighter and not bloated or is that just all in my head? lol
tomorrow, i’m off during the day so i have plenty of time to get my food prepared and workout out of the way. tomorrow is upper body!

i had today off of work, which made it easier to get all of my stuff done. i totally got off to a late start though due to sleeping in. i was tossing and turning all night due to a sinus headache, then remembered i had a vicodin from a while back. good news was that it took my headache away! bad news was that since i took it at close to 4am, it knocked me out til 1pm! yeah, so meal #1 was around 3pm, then went to the gym around 5pm to 7pm. i had an awesome workout. started off with a 10 minute warm-up, then did legs and abs and finished off with a moderate-intensity jog of about 3 miles (30 min). my legs were already sore from yesterday’s spinning class, so i’m sure i burned them out with today’s workout.
when i got home, my roommate was eating cheetos and i sooooooo wanted some instead, i cooked up some grilled chicken with fresh rosemary and sage leaves along with some lean steak that i will be eating for the next two days. tomorrow, i work a double and have to make sure to wake up early to get my cardio in before work. i work at 11am so i need to be on the treadmill at 9am. not too bad, i guess. i know it’s only been a day or so, but i feel pretty good about my progress so far, just taking it day by day. today gets an A-. i’m okay with that.

so today marks the first day of my 12 week body challenge. over the weekend, i had time to get organized by going grocery shopping, writing out my diet plan, as well as my lifting/cardio routine. to be honest, i’m kinda worried about the first couple of weeks. only because not only am i going to be on a strict diet, but i decided to cut out alcohol for the first month. i know that once i start seeing results (which for me, usually happens almost immediately in the first week), i’ll get pumped about it. but for now, just gonna have to take it day by day.
i started off my day really bad actually. last night, i took advantage of my last night to drink and really regretted it this morning. instead of getting up and cooking breakfast, i slept an extra 30 minutes. in fact, i STILL have a headache…probably from sinus pressure though. so i decided to skip meal #1 and 2 and just try to eat good the rest of the day, which i did. after my shift, around 4pm, i had steamed chicken and veggies followed by a protein shake and almonds around 6pm. for my workout, i tried out a spinning class from 7-8pm with lauren, which KILLED my legs…they are already sore. LOVEE that! then did upper body workout from 8-9pm-ish.
overall, i’m pretty stoked about starting fresh! kinda nervous about staying focused and on track, but i’ve done it before so i know i am capable. i’m off work tomorrow so i have no excuse not to kick day 2’s ass! i hope that i keep up with this blog. if anyone is reading, please leave a girl some loooove! goodnight..
