I attended my very first bodybuilding/figure comp this weekend- although it was small it was awesome! I have to give all of those athletes a lot of credit. I honestly thought bodybuilders were just meatheads with a tan but after actually watching what they do it takes a ton of work and it was an eyeopener.
I got to meet Tara Thatcher and her family who were super nice at the comp, and it was just wonderful to meet someone that has followed her dreams and to see the hard work pay off. I feel more motivated to go go go.
Another decision I made is which federation I’m going to stick with. I’ve done research and I want to stick with NPC. I’m choosing a show in March and one in June. I needed one closer so it’s more of a reality to me- It’s hard to imagine reaching your goals when they seem so far away.

Yup. I admit it. I bought a pink backack/pink Underarmour shoes. I’ve become an Underarmour wench. Not only that, but I bought coordinated workout clothes as a reward for sticking with my workouts the last 3 weeks since I started SOS. I love how I look lol… but honestly never thought I’d be the girl in matching workout clothes hitting the weights before sunrise so dammit I deserve it.
I still refuse to wear makeup, grunt loudly and talk on my cell phone during my workout simply on principle.
:-D

So I chopped up uber amounts of veggies, cooked 3lbs of chicken, weighed and portioned EVERYTHING and planned my menu for the week. I read my Modern World book (50 pages worth) without sleeping, finished my HW and even got in a game of Age of Empires. A very, very productive day.
Time to pick out my clothes for the week and hit the hay. Tomorrow is Upper Body and Cardio! Bring it on!
Good Night!

At least I have the weekends to catch up and do everything. This weekend I did my grocery shopping, workout out and am now making meals, doing laundry and of course homework. I still need to complete my lesson plans but HW is going to be first since I find lesson plans easy.
Bring on the scale and the measuring cups. I’M READY!

It’s amazing what you can do if you are willing to concentrate on your goal and put all of you into something. I just wanted to share of couple of things that I’m really proud of that I’ve achieved in the last month:
*I have stopped eating at night (after 7pm)
*I have not missed a 6am workout in 4 weeks. And that means I’m getting up at 4:45 am 6 days a week- even on SATURDAY.
*I haven’t been eating out of boredom- maybe because I’m never bored, but I haven’t been.
*I can finally drink a protein shake without gagging. That is a real improvement and I looooove my postworkout shake now.
*I went out to eat twice in the last week, and I ATE CLEAN!
~*I chose not to put anything about how much weight I’ve lost, my bf% or anything involving numbers. I only plan on weighing myself twice a month, and weigh-in isn’t for another 10 days*~
*I NO LONGER OBSESS OVER NUMBERS!

So now that I have my SOS program I am writing up meals and planning like crazy. The next two weeks are no cheat meals, all the water I can chug and continuing my instense workouts. I LOVE these workouts. Never the same thing and challenging. I haven’t weighed myself since I sent in my SOS packet- I’ve chosen to wait until they ask for an update so I can see the results instead of being paranoid of every weight flucuation.
Right now work is going well. I’m on such a consistant schedule between work and home I’m very successful in life and I feel very postive right now. Married life is fabulous- my hubby is doing great in the police academy. I’m happy that I’m working so he can dedicate himself to his studies right now. I know my turn is coming up in 3 months too, so no objections.
Well, time for bed so I can wake up early tomorrow! Leg day, abs and yoga tomorrow!

So I have chosen to enroll in the "SOS Program" (Savage Online Services) to really help me make it to May. I am BEYOND frustrated with them right now.
I sent in my info before the deadline. When I heard no response, I re-sent it to someone else. 4 days later- finally got a response saying "you’re too late for this month" with the lady saying I didn’t get my info in on time which was complete crap. So we reach a compromise because I said I DID my part, and I don’t think that’s fair to me and continue to forward all the emails as proof. I also paid the initiation fee before the deadline as well, because I was worried about something like that. and I get my workouts for the month but still haven’t recieved my nutrition protocol.
Everytime I email this lady she makes me feel like shit saying "you’re an exception. be patient." I emailed her Friday when she said "I let you be an exception. be patient." to me again and said then give me an exact date I’ll be getting my info and I’ll stop being such an inconveinence. She said Monday or Tuesday. Well it’s Wednesday-STILL NOTHING.
So, I tried being persistant and got called impatient. I tried being patient and am still lacking parts of my program and once again- haven’t heard a damn thing. We shall see what tomorrow brings.

2 random q’s just in case people read this:
What happened to "Body Points"
If you do SOS how long does it take for them to get back to you?! I still haven’t heard anything!
It’s been a great week, diet and exercise wise. I’m trying to "ease" myself back into activity since it’s been awhile since I’ve worked out consistantly. I did a full body (60min) lift session Tues and Thurs, Weds I did 50 minutes of cardio (20 stairmaster, 30 on the coolest elliptical EVER) and abs, and Friday I was pretty sore so I chose to bike to work and back which was about 45 mins total. My legs are pretty sore but I’m sooooo happy to be back in the gym.
I was having trouble sleeping yesterday and I was snooping around and found an amateur NPC comp coming in Oct that’s about 20 minutes from where I live- I told my husband today that we’re going to it lol… He agreed to go(damn right). NPC was the other federation I was looking into because it’s been around for awhile and is the ticket into IFBB, but I don’t like the idea of having to spend more money on a 1 pc suit…. kinda dumb huh? So I’ll see what I think of this comp and go from there.

So I started my new job at a local childcare facility and love it! The kids are wonderful and the caregivers actually care and it shows in the behavior of the kids! I was afraid at first to eat snacks and lunch with the kids but most of the meals are a healthier main course and then 1 serving of fruit, 1 serving of veggies- and the kids love their f’s and v’s! It’s a dream so far.
I’ve decided that early in the morning is the time I’ll be working out as well. This morning I got up at 5am, made it to the gym around 6:30, did 45 weights, 25 cardio and then went to work. I would like to start getting there around 6 so I can spend some time in the sauna or hot tub before work too. It’s always nice to relax. Day 3 of clean eating was super, and I’m hungry (It’s 8:30pm) but I’m going to bed in half an hour so I just brushed my teeth and decided to hit the hay after this.
Night!
