I seemed to have topped out at 175 and can’t seem to get past it right now. My caloric consumption is around 3750 cals a day. I think I’m gonna scale it back to around 2750 for the next two weeks to maintain, and in preparation for thanksgiving. Then after my metabolism has adjusted to the 2750 I’m gonna bump it up to 3750 again and see if I make any additional gains. 185 by Christmas doens’t look like it’s gonna happen, but I will say, I’ve put on a good 10-13 lbs, I estimate at least 2-3 is water, and maybe 2-3 is fat leaving me with a net gain of 4-7lb of solid muscle, which isn’t too bad. Last time I cut, I actually only lost 1 lb but my bf went way down. If I can do the same again in the spring, when I’m done bulking I’m looking at some pretty good gains. I’m optimistic.

Started the Bulk!

I started to bulk the last week of August at 162lb. It’s now Sept 22 and I’m up to 172lb. I’m pretty ceratin at least 5 of it is simply water from the increased carbs and 1 or 2 is probobly fat, but to be up 10 pounds in 3-4 weeks is encouraging. The main differecne in my diet has been replacing tuna fish with peanutbutter and jelly, and swaping my two mid day protien shakes with 650 calorie weight gainer shakes (ON’s Serious Mass). I also eat REGULAR yogurt rather than light. These SMALL changes took my intake from 2250 cals to 3750. Just goes to show, if you plan correctly, SMALL variations in your diet can make a HUGE difference!

Neck feeling better, back from vacation. TIME TO REFOCUS!

Well my neck is healed, thanx to some rest and a few adjustments from the chriopractor =)! I also just got back from a 5 day vacation to Vegas. Needless to say, I’m not in tip top shape, and the diet hasn’t been too tight either. Haven’t fallen too far off, but ceratainly need to refocus now and get back into a good intense routine. Starting monday, it’s back to basics!

 

A side note, I am going to attempt to make my own energy drink. I currently LOVE monster low carb, so I’m going to be modeling it after the contents of that drink. I’ll be sure to let everyone know how it goes.

 

P.S. the ingredient to make your own energy drink is like 20 cents per serving, beats the hell out $2.50 a can!

Tweeked my neck

My neck was a little tight today but I worked out shoulders anyway. Halfway through my workout my neck go so tight I couldn’t move it. Slight shooting pain. I iced it for like 3 hours, gonna rest it for a few days, hopefully won’t set me back too far. I just hope I can drive to work tomorrow!

Need Heavier Dumbells!

Well I was using 65lb dumbells for my chest workouts for like close to 1.5 months doing 15 reps and going super slow. I FINALLY got my hands on a pair of 75lb dumbeslls and lo and behold, I can do 3 sets of 10 with a VERY controlled motion. I need 80s! My chest strength has gotten up alot more then I had previously anticipated and now I need to find someone/somewhere to get myself some 80s without breaking the bank! COME ON CRAIGSLIST!

 

On a side note, I’ve never pushed 80lb dumbells before nor have I ever pushed 75lb dumbells with such ease and control. I’m VERY pleased with the strength gains I’ve made in my chest…I finally feel like a BEAST!

FIBER!!!

Well the lower abdominal distension was DEFINATELY becaue I hadn’t crapped in like 3 days, because after i took some metamucil, I cleaned myself out REAL good the next day! No more bloating. On a side note, I FINALLY got myself some new (heavier) dumbells to do bench press with. Now I’m expecting to see some real results on my chest within the next month.

Swollen Abs

I just started my ab routine and my abs have been swollen for two days now. While this makes my upper abs stand out more, I’ve noticed that it makes my lower abs protude and it looks like my lower stomach is bloated. I am guessing this will go away when my abs aren’t sore anymore, but I must say, I’m not happy with the way it looks. As a side note, I used to crap like at least once a day, usually twice a day. Recently I’ve been only going once every two days, and I think the build up in my intestines is also contributing to this bloated lower stomach look. I am going to try to increase my water intake to ensure I can move my bowels as well take some metamucil. We’ll see what happens.

Ab work!

Finally gonna start doing some ab work, maybe twice a week or so. I never did ab work before and my bodyfat is pretty low and i’m still not satisfied with the cuts I have. Gonna start targeting my core and see if helps make the cuts deeper!
