This morning was a VERY achy day! Damn that class last night…

Arrived at the gym a little later than planned (7am not 645) to find OTHER PEOPLE using the equipment! One guy was very odd, used the cable thingys for 5mins, admired himself then left, short workout!

Anyway, today was obviously my second weight day so time for workout B;

Squats

1×5 20kg (44lbs)(warm-up)
1×5 25kg (55lbs)(warm-up)
3×5 30kg (66lbs)

Standing Military Press

1×5 20kg (44lbs)(warm-up)
1×5 25kg (55lbs)(attempted warm-up but was a struggle on the last rep)
3×5 20kg (44lbs)

Pendlay Row

1×5 20kg (44lbs)(warm-up)
1×5 25kg (55lbs)(warm-up)
3×5 30kg (66lbs)

Squats and the Rows both felt pretty strong so should have no problems going up in weight, the Press however was very wobbly at the end of 25kg so will aim to nail that next week.

Swimming later today so will see how much that hurts!!

Today I…

Obviously did nothing lifting wise, but took a ‘ body balance ‘ class at the gym.

MY GOD was it hard work!!

Its kind of a mixture of pilates/yoga and (apparently) something else. Lots of stretching and FULL of hot young ladies…

Will be going back for more punishment on Sunday…

Today’s food intake…

3402.5 Calories
88.475g Fat
515.925g Carbs
159.5g Protein

Still high fat, 3 whole eggs and olive oil in the dinner boosted that!

15/10 Food Journal

October 16, 2007

Calories - 3208
Carbs - 504.275g
Protein - 174.165g
Fat - 89.55g

How does that look? Will have a lot less fat today just from changing the bread I use for my lunch!!

65kg’s of nothingness…

October 15, 2007

Today was my first day of following a proper plan.

Can you guess which one?!!? (clue, its a very simple STARTING STRENGTH plan)

Had a bit of a false start last week after my previous gym (which I am now no longer a member of) was very unhelpful…

…But new gym new start.

Bit of background.

27, 65kgs (143.3lbs), Triathlete

Weekly Mileage

Bike - 100+ km (ave 5/6hours)

Run - 20+ km (ave 2hours)

Also swim once/twice a week.

Goals;

Bigger, Stronger, less injury prone

So anyway, first morning at new gym.

Squats

1 x 5 15kgs (33lbs)(warm-up)
1 x 5 20kgs (44lbs)(warm-up)
3 x 5 25kgs (55lbs)

Felt really strong all the way through the squats so will ramp up to 30kg on Wednesday (and yes, I WAS getting my ar5e LOW)

Bench press

1 x 5 20kgs (44lbs)(warm-up)
3 x 5 30kgs (66lbs)

Last bench press was a bit of a struggle so will stick to 20kgs next time, was the first time I have attempted a bench press so am happy with that

Dead lift

1 x 5 20kgs (44lbs)(warm-up)
3 x 5 30kgs (66lbs)

Again, like the squat I was quite happy at this weight so will add at least 5kgs to this on Friday.

All in all pretty happy with my first time (properly) at the gym, have messed around with dumb bells in the past (as Im sure have most) but was pretty nervous about actually doing some proper work outs and really just wanted to be done and out!

Wednesday will bring with it much more confidence (in about having enough time to get everything in before work if nothing else) so should see me do better warm-ups and get my squats up to a decent weight! (I’m guessing as the cycle to work WAS possible afterwards I’m not squatting heavy enough!)

Onwards and (arms/chest/legs) outwards!
