In an attempt to get down to 5% bodyfat, I’m cleaning up my diet hardcore and dropping all supplements aside from whey, multivitamin, and the Thermo-Cuts that I’m trying out right now. I dropped Arginine last week, and I took my last serving of creatine yesterday, so I’m pretty psyched and a little nervous about working out the next couple weeks. I saw some awesome strength gains with the creatine, and I just want to make sure that all my hard work doesn’t go to waste. I’ve been doing a lot more cardio lately and it feels great. So I’m going to take a few weeks off from most of my supplements, try to reduce my carb intake later in the day, and see if I can’t shed a little fat! Wish me luck and I’ll keep you posted!

I’ve been fascinated by hydrostatic weighing ever since I heard about it when I was in middle school. When I found out last year that we had a tank on campus, I was ecstatic! Since then I’ve been playing with the tank, I learned how to use it, and I’ve even weighed a couple of my friends, but it wasn’t until today that I had myself weighed for the first time and I’m proud of my results. My lowest measurement was a 6.7%! It’s kind of sad though because I’m actually nearing the end of my bulking phase, so I expected to be a little fatter. I’m not going to complain though, I eat pretty clean. I am going to weigh myself again in a couple months and I’m shooting for 5%

I tried for 2 months to put on some serious weight and I managed to gain about 5 pounds. While some may think that is great progress, that is not fast enough for me, and nowhere near my goal. So I’ve decided to do one more month of gaining mass before I turn to torching fat. I’ve even invested in some mass gain powder, Serious Mass by ON, so I’m pretty psyched about that. I’ve also decided that I’m going to take a break from supplements after I’ve run out of what I have now. I’ve been taking a lot of caffeine lately and I’m going to start lowering my dose next week until I run out and then I’m going to take a couple weeks off from caffeine to let my body readjust. I’m pretty excited about my plan, I’m hoping to get some great results! Wish me luck!

The weight gaining process is not going well at all. I don’t have the money or the time to put enough calories in my body to add on lean muscle mass. There have been weeks where I have lost weight. Perhaps my goal is unattainable. I don’t really know why I need to be 200 pounds anyways. I’ve been taking my supplements on a daily basis, and while I have been getting stronger than I have ever been, I’m not really gaining any weight. Perhaps my new goal should be something along the lines of: Be the strongest, leanest, and most cut at 175 pounds. That would work with me. We’ll give it a little more time and thought, and I guess we’ll see.

Between classes, work, and whatever other obligations I have throughout the day, finding time to eat is getting pretty rough. I did the math today and I’m only getting about 1900 calories daily, 190g of protein and only about 240g of carbohydrates. If I want to seriously get big I’m going to have to find a way around this or else it’s just not gonna work. Since protein powder is so expensive I like to save it for my pre-workout and post-workout shakes only, and everything else I eat is in food form. It’s also pretty tough paying for the food with the part-time job I have, but I’m getting by. If anyone has any suggestions, I am open.

In my quest for mass I am currently taking more supplements than I ever have. Among them are whey protein, creatine, arginine, glutamine, a multivitamin, tribulus, and caffeine for a pre-workout boost. Quite the assortment. It seems somewhat troublesome to keep up with all the pills and powders I need to take throughout the day, but I know it will pay off in the long run. After only one week I’m already seeing gains in strength and I’m feeling great. I knew diet and exercising wouldn’t be enough to reach my goal weight of 200 lb, so it was time to take it to the next level. I’m going to keep track of my weight, measurements, and strength as often as possible so I can see the progress I’m making. I hope you can follow my progress with me and help to keep me motivated along the way.

Tomorrow morning I will weigh myself to see how much progress I’ve made in my first week. I’ve been lifting hard, taking my supplements regularly, but my diet has been kind of lacking. I feel bigger and stronger, but it’s only been a week, so I don’t expect too much. Being a college student it is difficult to fit all the required meals into my schedule, and with the little money I make, food is sort of scarce. But this is only the beginning to a long journey to earn the muscle I desire. Over time I’m sure I will fit my needs into my schedule better. Wish me luck.

This is the first time I’ve written a blog in forever, but I thought, what is better to write about then how sore I am? I started my new workout routine at the beginning of this week. It includes a lot of 3 or 4 sets of 6-8 reps and a lot of intensity techniques like rest-pause and drop sets. To be completely honest, I love the feeling of being sore the day after a good workout. There’s nothing quite like struggling to climb a flight of stairs because your legs are so sore. I feel like this is a good start to some good growth. Now I just gotta get my diet under control. Stay tuned for more news on my quest for size.

Friday morning I will be home, and my brother and I will be maxing out on bench, squat, and deadlift. When I was in high school, before every football season we would have a "max night" in which everyone on the team would max out on bench, squat, and deadlift. The ultimate goal for that night was to lift a combined 1000 pounds between the three lifts, and join the ranks of the 1000 pound club. When I was in high school, I was never really worried with strength. I weighed about 135 pounds, and I never tried to get real big. Wrestling was my sport, and I was always more concerned with staying light, and I just played football for fun. Well now, several years later, I am wrestling in college, and am finding out that strength may be one of the only things I have going for me. I am currently about 169 pounds, lifting 6 days a week, and proud to say that the only supplements I take are whey protein and a multivitamin. When in high school, I was lucky to get a combined 600 pounds between the three lifts, but this week I am feeling good, feeling strong. I am shooting for 300 on bench, 350 on squat, and 400 on deadlift. I know I will reach some of these goals pretty easily, but others will bring great struggle. I am keeping my head up though, I know that all my hard work over the past couple months is going to pay off, and I will join the ranks of the elusive 1000 pound club finally.
