today’s workout

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

Today I did 250 no weight hindu squats, 2 3minute neck bridges where I touched my nose on the floor on the first one and my lips on the second one, I did 75 no momentum situps then I did the front plank pose held it for 1.45 minutes then I put two chairs up and put my feet on 1 and my head on the other one and held my self ridged for 2 minutes. Todays workout was concentrating on the lower body and abdominal areas alos on the neck and upper back. I am working out to get inshape as I was when I was a high school wrestler. I do want to lose body fat and transform my body to that of an athletic person, I am striving to sculpt my physical appearence to look fit.

My diet is now 6 meals a day actually it is 4 actual meals and 2 protein shakes I do feel a lot more enrgy and a lot stronger so my workout are getting better and they are lasting longer.

Tomorrow is upper body push ups of various styles , Hindu pushups, chair dips, close grip push ups, wide arm pushups, then I’ll do resistance band chest flyes, tricep extenisons, bicep curls, one arm rows and shrugs all for 100 reps. I will do 50 hindu squats, heel raises, the neck bridges front and back then stretch for about 45 minutes. I’ll keep updating on my progress my body feels a lot better then it did before I started this program.

expirementation

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

Over the past week or so I had a couple consecutive days where I could not sleep. Being over in Iraq it’s not unusual to go sleepless but on these days I had not workout either, last night I did a workout and low and behold my sleep was great. I work the night shift for 12 hours and usually I workout right after everybody leaves so I don’t get interupted. since my workout is all bodyweight exercises and there isn’t much room. I use my space and time wisely to keep awake so working out keeps the blood flowing so one doesn’t fall asleep will missions are going on. I ordered a mini stepper to help with my cardio program low impact trying to keep knee pain to a minimum. I tried the skipping rope but the impact bothers my  knees. I am still making progress just not as fast not enough protein in my diet yet, though I did order some it’s on its way I’ll give commentary on how well it helps me to achieve my goals. I try to eat as clean as possible but army food is army food it is not called a messhall for nothing. I mostly consum canned meats and fish, lots of water salads no dressing and a fiber drink every 2-3 days to stay regular.

In January of this year my body weight was at 285lbs, waist was 48.5 inches and I was depressed. Depressed because I had gotten so fat and I had another deployment coming up but instead of working out I drank beer, ate crappy foods, and sat on my growing fat but. That changed when I got to Iraq with no TV to watch no beer the only other problem is still have crappy foods to eat. But now I workout aas often as I can trying to surpass the last record number of consecutive days of workouts before I take a break. I do light days and failure days where I push my sel beyond what I expect to do ie; if I say I’ll do 100 pushups and I do 125 because i still had it in me i’ll push til I drop, thats part of my motivation to keep going beyond what I have done in the past.

I expirement of food and sleep vs energy and power if i stick with my canned foods though they are not fresh it’s better then what I am served i have power as the energy for me to get energy I have to continue working out so I can sleep so I have energy. Sounds almost like the drug commercial I do more so I can work longer so I do more… well that is how i get my sleep and energy I get them both the same way by body movement and food.

Blog Entry

Wednesday, October 17th, 2007

It is the 18th here so i say to all that read my blogs i am down 2lbs mor this weak it is going slow but it is going. i do a lot of deep belly breathing after my workouts to infuse my blood with oxygen to keep the fat being utilized as fuel and energy. it also helps to relax me. i have only been seriously back training a month but on and off since june. in may when i deployed to iraq i weighed 285lbs and had a 48.5 inch waist now i am down to 42inch waist and 240 quit a bit of difference in how i look and feel but i have a long way to go. yes i worked out awhile before i used bodybuilding.com and before i used any supplements. i want to get back a pain free life and stop buying xxlclothes to hide bodyfat. nothing against being in xxl clothes if you are built right for it i mean lean and large is ok but fat is wrong andd un healthy also painful to the joints.

I am working toward a goal of 10% body fat but have no real way to caculate it with just a tape measure but it does feel good to look down and see the numbers lower from almost 50 in to almost in the 30’s again. it will take awhile longer but with the progress continuing i’ll keep on. i add exercises to my workouts daily currently not on the weights using body weight, swiss ball, rubber resistance bands, pushup bars, and metal chairs also this week we are building a pullup bar for pullups chins and hanging knee raises.

Iam really working for a beach body and to look good for my wife when i return from iraq next year so i have to work hard and harder still to achieve my transformation goals and desired fatloss. this is a great way to stay motivated  by letteing people know your plan by writing a blog, the decient people won’t let you slack and will remind you of your commitment of working out.

to prevent depression and anger

Tuesday, October 16th, 2007

I noticed that if I don’t do some sort of workout daily I become very easily angered and depressed. The body and the mind knows what it needs and exercise is one, rest is one, and proper nutrition is one. with out activity one just dies off. The animal kingdom knows this that is why they move so much and eat when hungry and sleep when they need it. So now i workout every day body weight exercises and rubber bands. Don’t get me wrong I love the weights and the clang of iron when I can. If I had never injured myself I’d still push the iron but rehab is done with the body ’til you have proper flexibility and strength.

My supplements

Currently I am using products from MHP I had used the with great results 5 years ago but it was only Secretagogue, it helped me to relax at night and gave energy upon waking. I also lost a lot of body fat at the time and gained muscle. So I decided to use MHP once again to help me in my new quest. I am now using Secretagogue Gold as I am over 40yrs old along with the T-Bomb II and Anadrox Though I just started to use the Anadrox I feel that it was a good choice as the pumps I get feel deeper and my muscles stay that way longer.

First blog ever

Saturday, October 13th, 2007

This my first one of many. I have been using Matt Furey’s Combat Conditioning we don’t have too much access to weights in Iraq. So I am trying the body weight method so far it is working well not as fast as when i was lifting butafter 5 months here doing it daily My waist has dropped 5.5 inches and I have lost about 30lbs of fat. i plan to work toward losing 45lbs more of fat and add more muscle and definition to my body. At 43years it is a lot harder then it used to be. Also not much cardio capabilities here so it is left to my imagionation to do cardio. I do circuits of pushups, squats, situps (full ones) and crunches, neck bridging and use rubber bands for resistance. I am striving hard to achieve my goals over here I do 200 reps per exercise now started with 50 total reps  and worked up. Any advice any one can give to help will be appreciated
