Contemplating

September 27, 2009

After a quick visit to a local karate studio and a lengthy discussion with the instructor I spoke with a student of the facility. He was saying how learning the particular type of martial art, or I guess any would actually suffice but either way, had done wonders for him and all the weight he had loss the strength he gained and the boost in his confidence was due to his training there. But one of his statements that really stuck with me was "I worked out all the time before, but i was working out for all the wrong reasons." That point in the conversation really stuck with me. It got me thinking about what my reasons were for working out or if I infact had any real reasons at all, and if this one point alone is what is keeping me from achieving any goal I set. The reasoning behind the goal and the reason why I workout now that I think about it I can’t find the reason at this moment.

Something is missing

September 17, 2009

I have the desire to workout but seem to lack the drive or maybe the discipline. I have my reasons for wanting to work out and my motivation but for some reason I just can’t bring myself to do it lately what could be wrong? What am I doing wrong to feel so sluggish lately?

The Choice I have made

August 26, 2009

Despite genetics being against me, and a habit of being a procrastinator I have chosen to walk this road I am on. I must find the discipline within me to go through with my goals. Despite the paths difficulty I know the rewards are worth it. So from this day forward with the help of my friends here in the bodyspace may I take the first step to remaining on the path and not faltering from it. I will watch every piece of food I put before my mouth and ask if it helping or hindering my goals and will do the same with beverages. I plan on watching more closely who I associate with and ask if they back me or if they speak poorly of my goals and shorten the time spent with those ones. I will do the best and the most I can to fulfill my goals and will no longer be wish washy about my fitness.

In a rut

June 21, 2009

I feel the need to workout, but I fail to do anything about it lately. I have been pushed out of the last place I was working out in, since then I have been trying to come up with solutions but to no avail. I am lost at the moment with the desire to lift but no idea how to at the moment.

Frustation

March 27, 2009

Exercise is suppose to be good for stress, and it does help me. But today I am just not focused my mind is everywhere and nowhere at the same time. I can’t concentrate enough on anything. So the thought of working out to me today seems almost burdensome. I know I would not enjoy it at all and wouldn’t be focused enough and might cause myself harm lifting too much in a fit of rage.

Adjusting

March 21, 2009

Learning to adjust is difficult, but I will have to. I have been working out in the evenings usually, those who look at my workout tracker, can tell this. I now have to commit myself to working out in the early mornings. I don’t know how t his will work out, but I am determined to do my best.

The Proper Way?

January 21, 2009

Well I may be working out all wrong. When performing a set in a routine, let’s say 3 sets of 12 with three different chest moves. Do you first perform the first move 3 times then move to the next  for three and so on or do you perform one move after the other?
