I know this has nothing to do with bodybuilding but clothing enthusiasts, I have a 30% off Family and Friends coupon for the Gap/OldNavy and Banana Republic which is valid from 11/13-11/16. I have so many invites left over and I don’t want them to go to waste. Please send me a PM with your email address if interested.

Well, I am making a promise to myself to start my workout regimen again on Monday. I have put a lot of the stresses aside. Even though my health issues are not resolved yet and may be far from resolved, I made it a point to remove some of the other stresses so that I am not overwhelmed. I want to get back to the point where I was starting to feel good about myself. I miss the feeling I had when I was working out, a sense of accomplishment. Unfortunately, this barrage of stresses attacked me in ways that I couldn’t (and can’t) cope with. I want to feel like I am on my way to reaching my goals again especially since my college graduation is coming up in May and when I reach that milestone I want to exude my happiness inwards and outwards. Plus, I want to look good when I reach for the diploma sleeve. Hopefully everything goes according to plan and there aren’t as many speed bumps in my way.

Well, after last weeks road block and a bunch of health scares, I am going to work myself back into my workout regimen. I will try tonight after class, but I am told I have to take it easy…which isn’t what I like to hear. I was told that I apparently suffer from anxiety which is part of the cardiology issues that I was facing last week. They gave me medication but to me the side effects outweigh the benefits so I am going to see if taking it easy I can manage through this. Just one step at a time
Plus I have to work off the weight the I probably gained from all the stress, it can do horrible things to you.
Wish me luck.

Well I was training consistently for the past few weeks and then I started feeling tired (very tired) I brushed it off that I wasn’t getting enough sleep, so I started sleeping in more and decreased the amount of time that I was working out to just working out certain bodyparts. Well, that didn’t help. I then started to get dizzy spells throughout the day, so I thought that it might be that I am not getting enough sugar (diabetes runs in my family) so I would have a piece of candy or fruit to try to get some sugar in my system. That didn’t help. Then on Wednesday, I had this freakish bloody nose that would not clot. 45 minutes later and tons of paper used, it finally stopped by left me feeling faint as well as in a panic attack. My heart was racing and I was having difficulty breathing. Mind you, this happened at work so I left work early because I was feeling too faint to get anything done. I crashed at my parent’s home and just slept for hours and hours and was being forced to eat because they feel I am not eating enough. Well Friday morning came and I went to work as usual, still feeling the faint feeling and dizziness along with nausea. I made an appointment with my doctor for later that evening. I went in and I had a pretty bad dizzy spell that almost caused me to fall off of the examining table. She immediately ordered an EKG as well as a blood test. Well, the EKG came back as abnormal which signifies either Angina or a disease that is manisfesting within the heart or surrounding areas. Scary Stuff. I was told that I may also be suffering from anxiety or another stress related disorder. All in all it was a bad couple days and now I am just afraid of the roadblock that has been put in front of me from reaching my goals. I now have to see a cardiologist to monitor this possible heart condition, but I have also been recommended to see a psychiatrist for the stress related concerns.
I will keep you all updated.

Well I tried the modifications to my diet right before working out. I had a meal with boneless chicken breast, sweet potatoes and whole wheat pasta shells and it actually gave me more energy for my workout. I felt like I had this surge of energy as well as strength as I was working out. I don’t know if it was a mental thing or if it was the food but I had a very good workout last night. I had enough energy to keep going but I had to cut the workout short because it was getting late though and I have to wake up early to get to work. I am glad the sweet potatoes were mentioned and I will now incorporate them into my diet more.

Well I took the suggestions that were made and went out and bought some more chicken and will try sweet potatoes for the complex carbs that were recommended. Now I get to put my crock pot to use so that I can workout while it is cooking. I also bought egg whites as suggested so I should hopefully be seeing changes with these modifications to my diet.

I was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts as to the best time to weigh myself. Is it better when I wake up or before I go to bed? Any thoughts?

I am having an issue with my weight and I am not sure what to do. I have changed my eating habits and I am eating every couple hours like magazines suggest. I have been taking multi-vitamins in the evening and fat burners in the morning, before breakfast (as recommended). I also have protein shakes before and after my workout. I also have 1 peanut butter sandwich on whole wheat bread as a meal every couple hours, interchanging with snacks of dried fruit (read that dried fruit can be beneficial to weight loss in a magazine article). I have been doing strength training off and on for over a year and recently changed my routing when I bought a Bowflex. Now I work out in the evenings which is more convenience since I work full time and I am working on my Bachelor’s Degree at night. I have been noticing a steady increase in my weight as well as body fat. I would be fine if my weight and b/f stayed the same but I am frustrated because it is going up. I don’t understand why the bodyfat is going up as well. Which means that I am not putting on muscle mass but I am just putting on fat. WTF! It is really discouraging. I was wondering if anyone has any advice before I go crazy and lose my motivation.
Thanks in advance.
