Oh, and I lost another 1.5lbs. That’s 3 total since Friday. Woohoo! Go me.

I consumed 1296 calories today, and 135.3g protein, 140.5g carbs, and 32.1g fat. That comes out to 44% protein, 46% carbs, and 10% fat. Pretty good. But I kinda feel like I’m going to puke now…blarg.

I’ve been keeping track of all of my workouts on paper because it’s hard to me to find enough time to write a blog on here everyday. By the time I come home from work and the gym I just want to eat dinner, relax, and spend some time with my boyfriend. Writing a blog sometimes feels like it’s just a task and it takes away from that, so I’d rather keep track of my workouts on paper, then update my bodyspace when I get the time.

I’ve been doing well. Did cardio everyday this week that I had planned. On Wednesday I spoke with the personal trainer at the gym and he’s working with me to create a new workout. He told me that for my cardio, I should be using the HIIT (high intensity interval training) technique so I’m going to start using the treadmill instead of the elliptical. That’s going to be kinda hard for me because I’ve always found the treadmill to be boring and difficult. I went on it for 30 minutes Friday morning and by the 20 minute mark my knee was starting to bother me again. It’s so annoying but I pushed threw it and popped a few asparin afterwards. We’ve also changed our diet a lot. We’ve been eating good for about 2 weeks now, and now that we finally got our supplements I can seriously step it up. It’s so much easier for me to feel good about working out and want to do it more when I have my supplements because I know that they’re going to help me and I know that I had to spend my money on them so I don’t want my money to go to waste. That makes me work that much harder to make my workouts better and be sure that I’m eating better. This whole eating every few hours thing is hard! I feel like I’m constantly eating but I never actually feel HUNGRY! It’s the oddest thing. And the hardest thing about eating right is trying to find things that are low in carbs, especially after a certain time of the night. It seems like everything I like has carbs, even the high protein shakes and bars that I found. OH well, what can you do, besides more cardio? :]

I calculated almost everything that I plan on eating in a regular day and it came out to about 875 calories and about 110 grams of protein. That’s pretty good, I think, especially when it seems like I’m eating so much! My day looks something like this: a little something to get my stomach working before I do cardio in the morning (like a piece of fruit), oatmeal after my cardio, a mini whole wheat bagel with peanut butter and a protein shake for a snack, some hard boiled eggs and a piece of chicken breast for lunch, some fruit and some peanuts and maybe a protein bar for another snack, then a protein shake after my workout and some more chicken breast for dinner.

I’m really picky so I’m curious to see how these new supplements taste. The Optimum Whey smells super good so I hope it tastes the same way. I’m also taking the Orange NO-xplode and the fruit punch Cell Mass. I’ve tried the ready to drink Muscle Milk shakes and they were kinda nasty but the ready to drink Myoplex was DELICIOUS! I’ll keep ya posted. Wish me luck. :]

We’ve been eating well since Wednesday and I was back in the gym yesterday. I have an entirely new workout program that I’m doing, so hopefully, when our supplements finally get here it’ll be balls to the wall. :]

I did some cardio yesterday morning and then after work I went back to the gym and worked out my quads. I superset squats with leg extensions and the leg press with walking lunges. Then today I went to the gym after work and I did my triceps and my abs. I superset overhead dumbell extensions with kickbacks and reverse grip pressdowns with overhead cable extensions. Then for my abs I was supposed to do cable crunches but there were tons of people there and I felt silly. I was supposed to superset those with x-body crunches so I just did both sets of crunches on the BOTHSU. Then I was supposed to do decline crunches, which I did, but I didn’t do the reverse decline crunches because I felt kind of silly doing those, and I wasn’t quite sure WHERE to do them. Oh well. There’s always tomorrow…and then there’s always Bodybuilding.com to show me the way. Haha. After that I did like 10 minutes on the treadclimber. I was going to do 20 but my legs were buuuurning so I quit and decided to save them for cardio tomorrow.

On the way home I stopped at Vitamin Shoppe and I got a few different protein drinks to try out. I had Muscle Milk after the workout. It was alright…kinda thick but not chalky. Although the flavor should be "chocolate coconut" or "chocolate with a coconut/cardboard aftertaste" but it was bearable. Who knows, maybe if I have it enough it’ll grow on me…kind of like that peanut butter on a bagel thing.

Alright. Time for dinner and relaxing with my love. :] Peace.

So I’ve been dong some cardio this week. I went to the abs class on Tuesday then did some cardio Wednesday. That’s about it. I’ve been a slacker. But it’s hard to stay motivated when you know that in a few days you are going on a much need, much anticipated vacation and won’t be working out or anywhere near a gym for 11 days. Mike and I are head out to NY (any minute now, whenever he gets back from getting his stupid hair cut! Grr….I have the car all packed and ready to go, too. haha) for 4 days and then we’re heading down to KY to his family for a week. It should be super exciting but a lot of driving! It takes 6 hours to get from here to NY, then about 12 hours to get from NY to KY, and then about 9 hours to get from KY back to VA. Phew! That’s a lot of driving1! But it’s going to be fun and super worth it. I haven’t seen my folks in quite some time (almost 2 years for some, even longer for the rest) and he gets to meet my family and then I’ll get to meet his. Hooray! Oh, I think I just heard the key in the door…gotta jet! :]

Mike went to go play basketball this morning and since we are staying here at Quantico for the weekend while his friends are out of town (we needed a break from his apartment…or else I run the risk of punching his roommates girlfriend out…yea, shes a marine, but I could take her) I just decided to go to the gym here, rather than drive 15 miles to go to my gym. Actually, there was another one closer but it’s smaller and I don’t really like it as much. I used it the first few weeks that we moved out here because they had a little partnership going on with the hotel that we were staying it. I didn’t like it at all. And everyone thought that because I was a "little girl" that I needed help with my lifting…LEAVE ME ALONE! It’s not my first time at the rodeo, folks…

Anyhow, Mike snuck me into the gym through the back door (I’m not allowed in because I don’t have a military ID…yet. *wink wink* :] haha) and I went upstairs to the gym while he was playing basketball with his buddies. I ended up doing 30 minutes of cardio, but I didn’t write down my stats or anything because it was a different machine than I normally use and I didn’t really like it. They only have the ellipticals that have the moving arm things, and I don’t like those. It makes me concentrate on moving my arms…and I feel like I’m actually trying to pull my feet along. I think my arms slow my pace down…and besides, when I use my arms, I have nothing to hold my book up with. Haha. After that I got down to my workout, which was a little different than I had planned, but it was kinda busy, in a new gym where I didn’t know where anything was…so I kinda did the plan…but not all of it. Here it is:

B4:

Bicep Cable Curls - 20×2/25×2/30

Squats - 15×3*

Standing Rows - 20×3/30×2

Calf Raises - 95×3/115×2

* They didn’t have the empty barbells to add your own weights to them, so I just used the 15lb. bar. I probably could have done more but I didn’t really feel too comfortable trying there, with everybody staring at me. I’ll try it differently when I’m back at my normal gym and I can do them in the little private room.

A1:

Inclined Dumbell Press - 15×2/20×2/25

Dips - 40×3

I didn’t do the machine shoulders because every time I tried to go over to use the machine somebody else was using it, so I just said screw it. And I didn’t do the pull-ups either because my arms were BEAT!

In addition to those things I also did:

Deadlifts - 15×3** (I did both straight legged and bent legged ones. Using the same 15lb. bar as I used for the squats.)

Lunges - 10×3 (per leg) using 10lb weights.

Abs - Crunches, leg raises, and crunches on the BOTHSU.

I was there for 2 hours and I feel pretty accomplished. But boy I know I’m going to be sore tomorrow! Ack.

I got to the gym this morning at the time I had planned. I did the weight loss program on the elliptical again. I burned about 320 calories and went about 2.75 miles in 30 minutes. Then I pumped out some reps for my abs and stuff and hit the shower to get ready for work.

Man, things have been interesting at work! One of the part-time receptionists that works two nights a week and the weekends stole $100. They figured it out but before they could confront her about it, someone tipped her off so she called the owner and fessed up. He told her he expected her to replace the stolen money…and that she was fired. I’ve been waiting for this day for a loooong time! A few months back $1400 came up missing and all the signs pointed to her but nobody wanted to believe it. For some reason everyone there in management thinks that she walks on water…apparently not. So now we are looking to hire someone else in her place. Before this went down, I told them I was taking some time off (11 days for a trip…but really it’s only 7 days that I’d need off from work since I don’t work the weekends.) and they didn’t think they were going to be able to get the shifts covered, especially not after all this went down. I stood my ground and told them that I was going whether they could get the shifts covered or not and they said well, we might have to find someone to replace you. So they put an ad in the newspaper for a full-time receptionist as well as the part-time position. But I guess they’ve figured it out and I’m still going to be working there when I get back from vacation. Little do they know that I’ve been faxing my resume out and filling out job applications. I actually have an interview on Wednesday. Hah.

Oh, and on another (more personal note…stop reading if you aren’t interested in the nitty gritty…haha) I’ve been much more regular when it comes to bathroom activities lately. I don’t know what’s been happening. I’ve gone 4 days in a row! That’s like a record for me because usually I wait a few days in between "events". Haha. Oh, and speaking of events…what about that Michael Phelps guy? Is he some kind of good swimmer or something? Haha just kidding. That guy’s AMAZING!

I did 30 minutes of cardio. I was going to do 45 since I’ve been bad about it lately but the program that I chose wouldn’t let me do more than 30 minutes, which I thought was odd, but oh well. It was an extended interval program that I did with level 4 resistance on the down parts and level 8 resistance on the up parts. Man. I was tired. I went 2.82 miles and burned 330 calories. It seemed like I worked a lot harder but burned the same amount of calories than when I did the lower resistance. I’m sure that thing isn’t too accurate though. I felt like I worked harder and got a better sweat going so I’m sure that there was a difference. Then I did my A4 workout:

Machine Flys - 50×5

Preacher Curls - 30×3*

Triceps Pressdown - 30×3/50×2

Shoulder Flys - 30×3/40×2

I was supersetting my preacher curls and my triceps pressdowns and while I was doing the preacher curls I felt like there was a nerve in my elbow being pinched. I kept getting a tingly sensation. It felt a little funny while I was doing my chest flys because my arms are kinda short so I feel like they have to be a little bent while I do those so I don’t know if that had something to do with it or not. Also, it could have had something to do with the nerve plexus in the shoulder. Sometimes when you are working out antagonist muscles the plexus goes crazy and you get that tingly sensation. Who knows. That’s also the elbow that I broke when I was a kid so it looks funny anyway. I’m sure it could be a few different things so I can just keep an eye on it. Oh, and I ended up working in a few sets of crunches between the supersets of the chest flys and the shoulder flys because there was a guy that was using the chest machine who was a super-sized dick! I had done my shoulders, then my chest, then my shoulders, then my chest, then my shoulders. When I went back to do my chest there was a guy using the machine. He did like 30 reps without stopping (wtf?) so I went over and did some crunches. I had done a whole bunch so I figured he would be done by then, so I went over and he was standing next to the machine. So I said "Do you mind if I cycle in with you on this one?" and he said "I’ll be done in a minute". So I said "There’s no reason that I can’t use it while you’re just standing here. I have a workout that I’m doing, too, and I shouldn’t have to wait to use a machine when nobody is using it." And he said "I am using it, I’m just recovering from my last set. I’ll be done in a minute, go find something else to do." So I gave him a nasty look and I said "You are a really big dick, you know that?" and I just walked away. I ended up supersetting the rest of my shoulders with my abs and then did the chest after that. I saw the guy a little bit later and he was looking at me like he wanted to rip my heart out and eat it. I just stared right back and I think it pissed him off even more. Hah! Take that jerk-o! :]

Sorry, I get excited sometimes…haha. Time for bed. Going to wake up early and get some cardio in before work. Woohoo!
