I’m A Mess

Alright, so I’ve been in and out of the gym, doing my own thing, barely running and doing cardio because it is so boring by myself, and then stuffing my face with potato chips every chance I get.  THIS IS BAD!! I don’t feel like I’m getting fatter, but I do feel gross (Thanks Lipo-6) Haha.

Anyhow, over the course of the past few weeks I had completed my workouts all the way through B1 but I just haven’t updated it…

DAY A3
Flat Press 100E - 19 (Last Time 90E - 25)
Upright Row 80 - 14 (Last Time 60E - 18)
Seated Row 80 - 17 (Last Time 80 - 15)
Skullcrushers 40H - 6 (Last Time 35 - 13) **They didn’t have the 35lb. barbell so I just used the 40lb. and sqeeked out a few.

DAY B3 - I went to the new gym and did these but I didn’t write anything down.  I just kept the weights the same because I was tired and hadn’t been to the gym in a while.

DAY A1 - I don’t remember what weights I did on these because I went to the new gym where they have the rubber weights and nothing compared correctly so I didn’t write anything down. I tried to remember what weights I was doing but I never wrote it down in here so there is no way I’m going to remember now, since I can’t even remember what I had for breakfast.

DAY B1 - The same is true for this day.  I did approximately the same amount on the weights because they were just machines but I didn’t write anything down.  It is more difficult to write things down when I go to the gym without Ben because he always has his phone and I feel like a retard carrying around my pen and paper.

I think I am just going to start all over again with my A1 at the new gym and write all my stuff down.  I am going to start going to the gym before/after work since it is right across the parking lot.  And I need to start doing cardio every day.  I know I said this last week but starting Monday: NO MORE CHIPS, NO MORE BEER, NO MORE EATING LIKE SHIT!  I really have to crack down and have more discipline so I can get my sexy bod. :]

June 12 - RP Day B2

Tuesday, June 12th, 2007

Today we went to the gym and completed RP Day B2.  I got to use my new weightlifting gloves.  HOORAY! I finally got some gloves!  Then we did a 12 minute tempo run (speed=5.0) and felt great! Then I had to go to work…bummer. HAHA.  Here’s the workout… 

Dumbell Curls 25E - 15 (Last Time 25E - 15)
Calf Machine 90 - 10: I used a new machine this time so I don’t have anything to compare it to…
Seated Hamstring 80 - 10 (Last Time 85 - 10): This machine didn’t have an 85; the next highest number was 95 so I figured it was best to just do 80.
Leg Press 180 - 10 (Last Time - 200 - 10): Last time I used the machine leg press and this time I did the free weight leg press. I like the free weight one better…I feel like I am driving a racecar when I sit in the really low seat :]

Sunday - Long Run = 9 Miles

Saturday we were supposed to do our long run but we ended up eating like crap that day so we decided to do it on Sunday for that reason, and to give my "broken" knee an extra days rest.  After running the first 3 mile loop I thought I was going to die because it was so hard to breathe.  Also, my knee was killing me.  We ended up walking the second loop and then tried to run the third loop but it hurt so we kept walking.  About 8 miles into it it was getting late so I took a shortcut home and hopped in the shower while Ben finished up his last mile and met me home.  We ended up going to B-I-N-G-O with our friend Gavin from work and Ben (and I) ended up winning! Ben got bingo and won $150 but because we agreed to split everything I got half.  That was super exciting.

Monday (June 11) I had to go back to physical therapy.  A new lady made me do all of those exercises that I learned the last Thursday and then showed me a few more.  I also told her that during our run I experienced great pain on my ishium so she stretched my hamstring and it ended up feeling great.  I have to do my exercises everyday and I am supposed to get my leg stretched, which means that Ben is going to have to help me…if he can figure out how to do it properly without hurting me. HAHA.

I was supposed to get fitted for my orthotics (my shoe inserts) but because I am under the CA Blue Shield insurance they won’t cover them here in Las Vegas so I can’t do it.  I was thinking about going across the state line to find a Dr. that could hook me up.  I still have to look into that though.  Oh! Also, Friday…one of the worst days I’ve had in a long time…Ben and I went to Caeser’s Palace to go to Nike Town and I got a new pair of running shoes…Air Zoom Vomeros.  They are super duper comfy and they are really cute.  They feel like they weigh a half of a lb. and I can "play the piano" with my toes.  Those plus my new weight lifting gloves and running shorts and I am quite the workout hottie.  Haha! :]

June 8 - RP Day B2…or not. :[

The day before (June 7) I had gone to physical therapy to start my rehab, if you want to call it that, for my left knee.  The lady assessed my situation and gave me two exercises to do in order to strengthen my medial quads.  The diagnosis was that the ligaments on the lateral side of my kneecap are very tight, and they pull my kneecap slightly over (causing it to sit at a slight angle) so that when I am running, there is bone on bone contact.  She also hooked me up to the electrodes and ran electricity through my muscle while I flexed it, which is also supposed to strengthen the muscle.  She also taped my knee because we had to do our fartleks on the treadmill for the marathon training.

Friday (June 8 ) we went to the gym to do our fartleks and during the last one (2 minutes on 6.0) my knee gave out and I almost broke myself on the treadmill.  I basically fell off, but didn’t quite fall.  I caught myself before I ate shit but it was kind of embarrassing and it hurt 10x more.  Because of that, Ben insisted that we go home so we didn’t get to do the RP B2.  Bummer.

June 5 - RP Day A2

Saturday was our long run for our marathon training.  We ran 8 miles, which is more than I thought I could do, especially with my knee being lame.  But surprisingly, it didn’t hurt that badly this time.  Then we went to the gym this morning and I did this workout.  I finished about 10 minutes sooner than Ben because he does a few more exercises, so I hopped on the stepper and did the extreme fat burning program for 10 minutes.  I climbed 80 floors and burned about 100 calories over the course of a mile.  Not bad for only 10 minutes!

Incline Machine 80E - 27 (Last Time 80 - 15)
Dumbell Shoulder 25H - 10 (Last Time 25E - 15): Keep in mind, the barbells are different from those that I used in the Orange gym.  They were rubber and these are metal and seem significantly heavier.
Lat Pulldown 90 - 12 (Last Time 80E - 15)
Triceps Pressdown 90 - 11 (Last Time 90H - 6): I used the rope this time instead of the metal v-bar.  It is supposed to be more difficult but I managed to do more…maybe I’m just getting super-buff :]

June 4 - RP Day B1

Last time I did this, almost a month ago!!, we went to the gym in Brea.

Barbell Curls 45 - 17 (Last Time 45 - 16): I have increased one more the past 3 times! Progress!
Calf Leg Press 275 - 10 (Last Time 160E - 12)
Lying Hamstring 70 - 10 (Last Time 70H - 10)
Leg Extensions 90 - 10 (Last Time 80E - 12)

June 1 - RP Day A1

Traveling to the gym sucks…especially when you are working 2/3 jobs.  Also, the machines and the free weights seem to not translate equally.  For example, the dumbells at the gym we used to go to in Orange were rubber and the ones here in LV are metal, and they feel significantly heavier.  That may play a part in why my weights have been declining.  Also, I have been eating pretty poorly, which definately plays a part in why I am not looking so hot. We also haven’t been doing cardio like we used to (2x/day) so we need to get cracking on that…I need to get my sexy back. :] 

Here is what I did for day A1:

Inclined Dumbell Press 25H - 4 (Last Time 30H - 11)
Machine Shouler Press 70 - 15 (Last Time 60E - 21)
Pullups 64 - 16 (Last Time 80 - 17)
Dips 40 - 18 (Last Time 80E - 23)
