I live in Atlanta and we obviously don’t get much snow. However, I’m still amazed how people react.
- You have your complainers… "Atlanta sucks, why don’t they have snowplows ready for this?" Oh, what a good use of tax money…buy snow plows for the few inches of snow we get every couple years.
- Then there’s the enthusiasts… scraping every snow flake off of cars to have enough to build a snowman.
- The people with water-induced amnesia… oh yes, they come out when it rains too. How do I know? Because they forget how to drive in both conditions.
- And the survivalists - don’t go to the grocery store or you’ll die.
I still had ice on my car around lunch since I was parked in the shade. Most cars were ice-free by then, but someone actually asked me, "how’d you get all that ice on your car?" I responded with, "it must be the transmission, I’ll have to have that checked out."

Okay, so I’m not brave enough to put supplements in my carry on yet. Apparently I look suspicious anyway because I’ve been "randomly searched" twice in the past month. Actually those were both due to last minute changes on one-way tickets, but how can they call it random when there’s a big SSSS printed on your boarding pass. And you don’t even get dinner with that date…
So, I always check a bigger bag than I’d need for clothes so I can take my supplements. So far, Scivation Xtend and Labrada MRP’s never get searched. However, I’ve found that when I have creatine in my bag it always gets searched. At least the TSA is nice enough to put a "the government went through your underwear" card in your bag after they search it though. On the bright side, at least my bag comes out first at baggage claim….
Hopefully no more work-related traveling for me, at least for awhile!

Well, I haven’t been lifting any this week, but I think the airport is providing good cardio. I started a new job yesterday that involves traveling alot….or actually, most of the time.
I got to the Atlanta airport around 4am yesterday. Of course, the train system from ticketing to the gates was messed up, so I walked nearly the entire length of the airport. (the only reason the Atlanta airport is the busiest is because other cities had the good sense to build a second airport). Arrived in El Paso, TX yesterday afternoon after a layover in Denver…then drove to Las Cruces, NM. They weren’t ready for me for the job I was supposed to do there, so this morning I flew back to Atlanta for a short layover, then flew to Lexington, KY.
So…I guess it’s time to check out the hotel gym and/or look for a better gym here. I’ll probably have to go back to Las Cruces next week, but fortunately I’ve found several nearby gyms there already.

My hometown is in the news again. Remember pro-wrestler Chris Benoit’s murder suicide? His doctor’s office that he got steroids from (Dr. Astin) is in my hometown.
Now, a Dr. Austin (with a "U"), a dentist in my hometown is accused of hitting his patients in the head with dental tools while performing surgery. This one sounds more like people trying to get money though. I mean, it’s Georgia…if he really did that someone would have already gone to jail for beating him…LOL

I got my variety pack of Scivation Xtend from bb.com yesterday. Up until now the only flavor I had tried was watermelon, so I’m looking forward to trying the other flavors. I tried orange today…not sure how I feel about the taste quite yet though. It’s not bad, just a little more bitter than I’m used to since I’ve been using watermelon.
I try to stick with Scivation/Primaforce products when I can because they’ve consistently worked for me. I emailed them yesterday to ask about Primaforce Substance WPI…I really liked the stuff and was wondering why they stopped making it. My disappointment was short lived though, because they told me Scivation Whey would be available on bb.com in a few weeks.

LOL…in the middle of Bob Cicherillo doing alternating db curls, the camera diverts to a woman in the background and you can only see Bob’s elbow. No, I wasn’t the one using the camera.

At my gym we have two good incline benches where both the back and seat can be adjusted. There are also two other incline benches and I’m convinced whoever designed them was smoking crack. The seat is always at a 90 degree angle to the back. That may not sound like a big deal, but when you set it for about a 30 degree incline…well, it’s not so "safe" for guys to try to get onto the bench while holding dumbbells if they ever plan on having children.

I think I probably looked like a monkey f’ing a football today…LOL My lunges looked more like a really weird squat. Granted, this is the first time I’ve ever done lunges in my life and it was at the end of an already tough leg workout.
Maybe I should pay more attention to the lady at my gym who seems to go 50 miles everyday doing walking lunges. The bad part about it is I’m probably going to be practicing lunges at random times all week….in line at the bank, pushing a shopping cart down an isle at the grocery store, etc. If I survive this week without being locked up, I’ll be surprised.

My dog was my workout partner today.
Warmup: walking around for awhile and smelling of things
HIT Fetch: Try beating your dog to a toy that she doesn’t want you to have in the first place…LOL
Low intensity tug-of-war…with one of those ropes with the tennis balls on the end
Cool down: Gnawing on a piece of trash she found. While I was doing that I’m not sure what she was doing.
Pre/During/Post workout nutrition: Xtend for me, and milkbones for her

Day 2 on my new program - I think more than anything I’m not used to staying in the gym for such a short time. Today’s workout lasted around 25 minutes.
But I’m totally exhausted. I’m only doing two working sets of each exercise this week but was able to bump the weight up alot. I’m not too bummed about being "unfulfilled" with gym time though, because the volume will increase each week. Not to mention, almost everything is free weight exercises.
