Eating is going awesome! Classes are done for the week!

Wednesday, February 28th, 2007

Hello Hello! So I am absolutely loving SparkPeople.com for tracking my food.

My info for the past few days have been:

Today: 934 Cals (plus a small protein pancake I just had prepared for me haha!); 139 carb; 20 fat; 66 protein

Tuesday: 1286 Cals; 165 carb; 39 fat; 93 protein

Monday: 324 cals (forgot to add my dinner and one snack this day); 42 carb; 2 fat; 40 protein

Sunday: 1215 cals; 165 carb; 22 fat; 92 protein

I taught 3 classes today - Pilates for an hour this morning; 30 mins of Dancer’s Workout tonight; one hour of Salsa tonight.

So, I am very excited that I’m done teaching for the week and looking forward to my own cardio and lifting goals/work. My legs are bearably sore now from my Sunday big lifting leg day. Arms are fine now from Monday’s lift day.

I am 2 seconds away from chickening out of my upper body strength training I am doing now and going back to piddly weights and resistance bands due to some "injury" issues. I love lifting but it’s not worth messing with that injury, basically. And it is, I can tell.

In other news - I am getting hypnosis/hypnotized to deal with a little issue called (or is damn similar to) trichotillamania or something like that. Basically I pull out my eyebrows daily as a stress habit. Been doing it about 4 years and can’t stop SO that will be INTERESTING to say the least! Didn’t someone on this site say that people really into fitness are slightly (or obsessively!!!) OCD?!?!

Keep up the great work everyone!

Training’s going great!

Tuesday, February 27th, 2007

My training is going great lately! I decided against trying Lipo 6 like seemingly everyone is doing. I got along for so long without taking them and I get weird just taking regular pain meds so it’s probably not a good option for me.

Instead, I’ve totally kicked up my cardio which was my goal for the month, seeings how I am too into strength training. But at the same time I am lifting more anyway!

I’m lifting upper and lower body twice each a week. I was doing concentrated abs once or twice but am now doing them lighter but each or every other day.

Sat morning and nights were treadmill/elliptical days. Sunday was legs which I am still feeling - inner thigh soreness sucks! And some abs with oblique emphasis. I finally found 15 and 20 lb weights for this instead of ripping my arm off with the 25lb weight. (when you tip side to side - it pulls my arm b/c it’s so heavy)

Monday was my kick bootie day with 50 mins of arm/shoulder lifting, 10 mins of cardio on elliptical, 15 mins of good solid stretching. Then 60 mins of kickass turbo kickboxing. And teaching two 30 min aerobics classes. Needless to say I went to bed really easy last night.

I’m back on track eating really well too. Even the food nazi (my BF) wanted a treat last night! Whereas I was fine! haha!

Probably the funniest thing in a while was to walk into turbo kickbox class last night… instructor was late… and the woman that stands behind me/us each week asked "So, are you guys brother and sister?" to which my BOYFRIEND (we are 26 and live together) started laughing and almost literally rolling on the floor. She said we look just like each other…. I suppose I could see it. He is really into his beauty routine (my product), recently shaved his eyebrows (I over pull mine out… stress habit), we both have braces right now (short-term, mine are clear), and wear red/white/gray Nike shoes.

It was pretty funny. She was even more shocked to later learn that he is in law enforcement. I guess we look about 17 and like we are siblings. Afterward we discussed if our kids would look messed up seeings how we are related. Just kidding.

Week in Review

Thursday, February 8th, 2007

Ah, what a week! I know, everyone probably had a crazy week… but here was mine.

Kitty was very sick Saturday throwing up, bloody, acting extremely lethargic and depressed. Hiding and not moving, etc. Took her to the vet ER and was there and at another one for 4 days on IVs, etc. Her white blood cell count is alarmingly low. Unsure if she has leukemia or just a bad virus. So, working out wasn’t really on the top priority list. I did pack my own food usually when I went to go visit her. Almonds totally saved my butt at times when I would run out of food.

Everyone loves the baby kitty - she is such a cuddlebug! She didn’t move for the first 3 days but started being more of herself the 3rd night.

Did some squats and calf raises when i was in her room with her. Didn’t get much sleep those 4 days but she is home now. She eats now, no more bleeding, and walks around. She also takes her medicine really well (thank heavens!) and loves Turkey baby food (yes, like the Gerber kind - random, I know!).

I taught classes at the gym Mon, Tues, and Wed nights. Get to do my own workout tonight - FINALLY! Now I just get to pick a workout since I’m totally out of whack. I borrowed a few leg workouts from ladies on this site and I feel totally WEAK!!!!!!! I’m looking at how much these ladies have on their machines for legs and previously thought my legs were pretty buff. Guess not! Iknow it’s not about comparing but damn I’m impressed with my fellow BodySpacers!

Tuesday night i completely packed for a work day-trip to Sacramento. The next morning, I showered, dressed, and did hair in the morning and rushed my bags out to the car. Due to horrible traffic (2 accidents with mass ambulancias, etc.) I was very late to the airport. RAN through the airport with my computer, etc. and missed the flight by 90 seconds. It was awful. So now I’m out $370 for a stupid ticket from Seattle to Sacramento and back. DAMMIT!

Tomorrow kitty gets bloodwork done to find out if she has a bad virus or bigger disease going on. So with the vet and plane ticket I am $1600 less rich than I was 6 days ago! DAMMMIT!!!!

OK ok as for the things I am thankful for! All the regular items like a nice place to live, food, family being alive and well (minus the kitty being sick!), the luxury of getting to chose the job that I do and tap into my strengths and joys. Having a healthy functioning body that I can challenge and improve.

I do have a pretty sweet life, so I shalln’t let this other stuff get me down. But I do hope that kitty gets to still have a wonderful, fun, happy, healthy life, too!
