Microsoft Project and Excel

I’m officially a nerd. I am using Microsoft Project (or you could use Excel) to map out my workouts. The output is a schedule, gantt chart, and calendar with daily tasks.

Plus I finally have a countdown date so I have to fit everything in!!

 Ate oatmeal and raspberries again so far today. And water. Having lunch with a girlfriend at Chili Thai! mmmmmmmmmm Just going to have a fresh roll and the chicken atop spinach.

 It’s funny how I love fresh spinach now but as a kid they cook it and make it all goopy and I hated it. They should have just given it to me fresh and without the added salt when they cooked it too!

My boyfriend left to go workout :( which means we will work out at different times again today. That SUCKS! We did get to do spin class yesterday together for an hour which was fun. It’s getting less painful without the padded seat!

Gym people can be so nice! A couple nights ago I went to the gym to workout and realized that my headphones were on my other MP3 player. I figured I would buy another pair at 24Hr Fitness but it was after 9 or 10 and they had closed the apparel shop. The girl at the front desk grabbed her backpack from under the desk and rummaged through it to find her headphones and loan them to me! I thought that was so sweet! I probably would have not accepted since I’m kind of big on germs, etc. and she probably doesn’t want to share something that goes in both of our ears (even though we both look like clean girls!) but I thought the immediate thought, offer, and gesture of her was so nice! (she couldn’t find them anyway)

So, yesterday I did Turbo Kickbox for an hour at one gym. It was so damn hot in there - it said 69 degrees but felt way hotter. The mirrors in the front were literally steaming up. At first just steamed up at all the cracks/lines but by the end of class you could barely see yourself in the non-steamed up parts! It’s a fun class and I burned way more than on the elliptical or whatever.

Then I went over to another 24HR gym to teach a cardio class Cowboy Boogie (like aerobics and line dancing combined) and then 24Tease which is a cardio striptease type workout. (No, you don’t get naked). I had a guy in my Cowboy class who was so much fun! I hope he comes back because he got really into it, picked things up pretty well, had the drive, and actually RESPONDED to me! Imagine that! I love when I or any instructor asks a question and the members say "Yes!" or "no!" or "ok!" ANYTHING!  (and who says women are better communicators! haha)

Yesterday I had some delish Garlic something Chicken at Applebee’s. Obviously I customized the meal with double veggies, etc. and didn’t eat the rice. It was a good change from our normal chicken.

Tonight I’m working arms and doing Spin class. We love this instructor and her music! My hipflexors are still sore from something and everything…. so tomorow morning after spin should be fun. I am not very good…. have gone for 4 weeks, I think, now. But I’ve done dance classes forever and wanted to spice it up with something out of my element. Now I just need one of those damn padded gel seats!

today I have had: good for you oatmeal with fresh raspberries. Yogurt (non-fat obviously). and a banana oat bar. and WATER!

Just a question: Who gets a non-fat latte with sugar-free syrup and then adds whipped cream??? I’m sure they are being polite by asking but if I’m getting flavored water (the non-fat, no sugar latte) I sure as hell don’t want whipped cream!

P.S. If anyone has tricks for curing ringworm FAST please do tell. I have already tried Selsun blue in the shower, athlete’s foot cream on my spots, women’s V-cream on my spots, and bleach (started that last night). My cats have it and I wash everything every other day. Put meds on them and bathe them in medicated shampoo twice per week. sigh…….

Remembering what you eat is hard!

I managed to lose 44 lbs without recording everything I eat and trying it now due to this….. I hve had 2 eating disorders in my life but I believe I am strong enough now to record it without going crazy. During the loss of the44 lbs I ate very clean and followed the Abs Diet. Plus my boyfriend is the food nazi so…… I’ll do my best!

Today I had:
Oatmeal with raspberries and milk
Protein shake with yogurt
Chicken with healthy sweet mustard, baby carrots, and red pepper organic soup
- and the day isn’t done … It will probably be turkey or fish with squash and green beans

Workout:
- Cardio on the treadmill (alternate between 6.0 and 4.0 mph and I do 3% incline)
- Legs!
Leg Press (regular, then inner thigh, then bootie blast where I put my feet together at the top) 10×4 of each
Calves (on leg press and also standing on one foot) 10×4 on the leg press and 75 uninterrupted standing
Leg extension (10×4)
Sitting leg curl (10×4)
Abductor and Adductor (inner thigh/outer hip) (10×4 on each)
Lunges forward and back with 10 lbs

Cardio/toning….
Step ups on the weight bench with 5 lbs (regular, then lifting the leg/knee up at the top, then extending one leg back and up). Unsure how many but for a song about 4:30 to 5 mins long.

Finally, side bends with 10 and 25 lb weights on the side. During Turbo Kickbox on Monday nights my sides have gotten sore from the wheel move that my instructor just loves so I need to touch these muscles besides just the class. Prob should have done that Thurs or Fri, whoops!

I am really excited to start finding more new workouts from this site, etc.

Oh I feel so fancy finally creating my own blog after telling my clients to!

Anywho… today was fun! I watched a lot of Court TV while my boyfriend slept for his night job. There are some CARAZAY people out there I tell you.

I also watched some DanceLife on MTV and find it motivating to watch people doing physical activity while I work out or before I go.

When I finally went to the gym this evening (love going late! like 9pm and after) I failed to bring headphones. Sucky! I LOVE LISTENING TO MY OWN MUSIC! I gotta! But I lived and listened to the sometimes fabulous tunes of 24hourfitness. We had a good night shift front-desk girl.

Totally non-fitness-related but I had a taquito at this purse party I went to. Never been to one. Haven’t had a taquito in……. at least 2 years. It’s fine, though. We don’t own anything bad in this house so it’s not like I have the whole box to go through or anything.

What is insanely frustrating is that even when I am simply lifting for my ARMS, it really hurts my chest area. Probably TMI  but I have had reconstructive surgery on my chest area and so many upper body items affect it because your body is all connected and push/pulls other things than your key muscle you are working. BEFORE when my arms were pretty damn toned (for once in my life…. CLEAN food-nazi eating… cardio… resistance band and free weight training for my arms…. and the rowing machine..) it was starting to hurt so I chilled out a big and my arms lost it. So now I’m back on that road again and feel excited, yes, after my workout… but also just really frustrated b/c I feel it in my chest and don’t want to QUIT but also don’t want to mess up my body after a significant amount of pain, money, surgeries, etc. I am not even doing incline, bench, or pushups! (these I am not allowed to do and do not attempt). Hell, I don’t even do tricep dips on the bench anymore (do other triceps exercises instead)…. Anyway, it’s just ridiculous.

Grrrrrrrrr….

But my time at the gym was great. Nice and quiet. Got to wear a new Shock Absorber/Victoria’s Secret tank top! I swear Shock Absorber is the BEST sports bra you can wear. Try it, ladies! (they also have a hysterical Web site……)

Finally, a big thank you to Starbucks for (1) finally coming out with a new damn drink and (2) offering it in sugar-free. Although I don’t really like the new drink……. that’s what tends to happen when we have a wine rack at home of sugar-free syrups. WAY more than Starbucks has in sugar-free or regular. :P
