Today is the last day of 2007! Wow, I don’t know if I’m happy or sad about that. I hope I stick to my resolutions of working out, eatting healthy and saving more money.

This really is just an update to fill you in on why I haven’t been blogging. I’m still sick! I’ve been sick since Christmas Day and tomorrow will be a week. I hardly slept last night, my hubby and I were up all night coughing. I’ve put a call into an advice nurse today to see if I should come in or just wait this thing out. I’ve waited this long, I’d hate to go in for nothing, but the mucus  isn’t gettting any better and neither is my cough.  Well I just got off the phone with the nurse and I don’t even have to come in, they went ahead and filled a perscription for me over the phone or amoxacillin and something else. Damn I’m really sick. So as soon as I can today I’m picking those up and starting them. Now we just need to get Joe on it because he’s go the same damn thing.

So as you can tell I haven’t been working out. I cleaned my house all day Saturday and that didn’t help me feel any better. I can’t wait to feel healthy again!

12.23 & 12.24.07

Took the 23rd (Sunday) off as usually and spent most of the day baking cookies, which is a workout within itself.

On Christmas Eve I was very proud of myself until I almost burnt the house down but we’ll get to that in a little bit. First off I woke up and ate my breakfast and then got right to work. I knew I better get my workout in early if it was going to get done at all so I lifted weights and then ran. I left the stats at home but I’ll fill those in later.

So how did I almost burn the house down you ask? Well me being as clever as I usually am decided to leave the sugar cookies in the oven overnight so that the icing could harden up some and not attract ants. Leaving them on cutting boards mind you, plastic cutting boards (you might already see where this is going). Well after my long and arduous workout I decided I would be impatient like I usually am and get some more cookies a bakin’ before I got all cleaned up. While in my state of exhausten and in my impatient multi-tasking mode I decided to pre-heat the oven without looking inside first. Yes that’s right people I forgot the cookies were in the oven. So while mixing my next batch I begin to ponder “what is that burning smell?” “oh shit, oh shit, oh shit” I open  the oven and there are all my cookies and one of the plastic cutting boards on the bottom rack melting away and starting a fire non the less. So, me being the smart cookie (no pun intended) that I am reached for the baking soda and put the fire out only to turn around to see that the fire had started again. All while my son is in the background yelling call 911!, call 911!. So this time I rip open the whole box of baking soda and dump it all on it. Which killed the fire and there was no need to embarrass myself any further with fire fighters present.So I turn the oven off pull out the cookies on the top rack which were not harmed thanks to my sensitive nose and begin to wonder how the hell am I going to clean up the red melted rubber that is all over my oven and that got stretched to the sink while I was pulling out the bottom oven rack. Luckily, rubber hardens and it really easy to clean up. With my McGyver like skills I used some scissors, a metal spatula, knife and vaccum I had it all cleaned up within 30 min. You can’t even tell it ever happened except for the bag of melted evidence. So I’ve decided that I’ll never make sugar cookies again with icing, it was too hard, I’ve made better cookies and next time I don’t want to do more harm. Go me!

12.21 & 12.22.07

Didn’t workout last night like planned. I ended up going out and doing some last minute Christmas Shopping. But today I woke up early and made up for the missed weight session and ran.

workout:

a circut of the following at 7.5×15x3

back flyes

overhead ext.

arnold press

front raise

front lunges 7.5×16x3

back lunges 7.5×16x3

calf raises

Then I ran an 11 min mile at 5.6 and then kept running, topping out at 6 for a total of 35 min.

I colored my hair today to get rid of the blonde highlights that were growing out. I’m just so tired to going to the salon and spending 150+ on my hair. I wanted to go darker anyways and I’m trying to grow it out and everytime I tell the stylist just a trim she takes off way more. The color ended up with more red than anticpated but I’ll make it work.

Didn’t workout Tuesday night, my husbands parents ended up coming over to help him bleed the brakes in his truck so we rushed to eat dinner and then I sat and chatted with my mother in law. But I ended up kicking my booty last night.  First I lifted and then I did intervals.

I did a circut of the following moves:

closed squats/arnold press 7.5×15 7.5×12 7.5×15

front lunges/curls 7.5×14 7.5×12 7.5×14

open squats/overhead press 7.5×15 7.5×12 7.5×15

back lunges/hammer curls 7.5×14 7.5×12 7.5×14

Intervals:

223.4 cal/ 20 min/ 1.580 miles/ max 6

12.18.07

Tuesday, December 18th, 2007

Had a good workout last night. Tonight will be cardio because I didn’t get up in time this morning. I feel better about that now though because I know I’ll be able to do it tonight.

last night’s workout consisted of:

5 min warm up

flyes & db press 7.5×15x3

curls & hammer curls 7.5×15x3 until fatigue

overhead press & lateral raises 7.5×8x3 I was so exhausted by this point I could only do 8 to fatigue

I think next time I’ll try more of a circuit with every move, see if that makes it better.

This weekend I didn’t get a workout in unless you count walking all over the mall. We were super busy and then crashed on Sunday. I’m so tired right now, I woke up at 4:30 and got up and ran. Tonight will be an early bedtime.

12.14.07 early riser

Well I started off my day at 4:45. I think if I really want to get enough done I’m going to have to try for 4:30. Once I got up, got Joe dressed (because he can’t dress himself right now because he can’t move his arm), got me dressed, said goodbye and stretched I only had 15 min to run. Wow 15 min goes by real quick. But I’m glad I did something. That’s more calories burned than if I wouldn’t have ran.

Tonight we’re going to try and hit up the mall and get some Christmas shopping in so I probably won’t be able to get some weights in but I’ll burn more calories walking.

12.13.07 part deux

Well I didn’t end up getting to go with Joe to the appt. His work volunteered to take him because he’ll be in the area anyways if he works. So that works out fo everyone, now my boss will be happy because I won’t miss work.

Last night I had a killer workout. I’m much more powerful at night, probably because I’ve eatten instead of waking up and working out first thing.

Well pooey. Didn’t workout last night. I’ve decided that I must workout before I cook dinner because once I sit down for the night I’m done. Also I went to bed early last night (8:30) because I knew I had to get up super early to drive Joe into work. So it’s best that I just got some rest, man I’m good at excuses. So tonight I get off at 4:30 since I was at work by 6:30 this morning, even after getting gas and starbucks, that should tell you how early I got up. So I plan on working out tonight, I’ll do legs and cardio to make up for yesterday. I’m wired right now thanks to the starbucks and I’m having a great day. The very chipper barista must of hooked me up with something special in my drink this morning.

Tomorrow morning I get to sleep in to take Joe to the specialist for his shoulder so I’ll get a good workout in tomorrow morning. We get to go to the top notch doctor that’s located at the Rose Garden, that’s where all the sports people go, maybe we’ll see a Blazer or something, that would be cool. We’ve seen Darius Miles at Fred Meyer a couple of times. Once he was knealing down to look at something and I was like that dude is huge he must play basketball and then I saw him in line and he was towering over everyone and Joe confirmed that it was Darius. I don’t think he’s a Blazer anymore though, I don’t keep up with that stuff very good. But Joe did see Kevin Duckworth the other day, he works for some local company now, which is pretty cool. He’s said he was huge in person too.

So tomorrow we see if Joe did fracture something for sure and see what our plan is.

My start time at work changed again to 7-4 so now it’s going to be really hard to get workouts in, in the mornings. If I get up at 4:45 I should at least be able to get my cardio in and that will be good because you’re supposed to do that on an empty stomach anyways and now that I’ll be getting home a little earlier I’ll be able to squeeze in some lifting. The whole reason my schedule changed though is because they want me to put in more overtime. Can you believe that? It’s like they totally don’t get that they cannot ask you to put in a certain amount of overtime, but they want an extra 5 hours a week from me, even though I already get my work done. So I told them if I came in earlier that would make it easier because I wouldn’t get home so late. Hello, I still have to cook dinner and try to live my life. Also,I forgot about my morning workouts. Well apparently to them my life doesn’t matter. But atleast my paychecks will be bigger now. So on most days I’ll probably just take a 30 min lunch and then stay until 4:30 and that will give me an hour of overtime. Which really is no big deal. Except on days that I go tanning at lunch, then that usually takes up my full hour if I want to eat too. But my package ends in January anyways so next time I’ll just buy one close to home and go on weekends. Man they are screwing up my whole daily schedule.

So this morning I didn’t workout. Today was my first day in at 7 and with Joe’s arm all screwed up I didn’t get a good nights sleep. Tonight we might sleep in seperate beds, it’s so sad. So we’ll see how a workout goes tonight.
