logging some wo’s

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

Today is Halloween  and I’m very proud of myself, because we did not go buy candy this year. We don’t plan on having our gate open or the light on because I’m not dealing with the hoodrats in our neighbrohood.

I need to blog what I’ve been doing. It hasn’t been too much but it’s worth something.

10-26-07

I did intervals for 30 min/305.2 cal/2.263 miles

10-27-07

1 hour run/565 cal/4.343 miles

10-30-07

starting lifting again, very very light because I didn’t want to be too sore but surprisingly I’m a little sore. I superset to save time.

curls/tri ext. 3×12

shoulder press/lat ext. 3×12

push ups/db press 3×12

what a bust

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

This week has been a total bust. Monday I didn’t get up on time as usual so I planned on running that night but that didn’t work out either because I was so tired. I’m always so freaking tired, ugh. So then Tuesday morning I woke up with a splitting migraine, I felt like my skull was going to crack and my eyes were going to pop out of their sockets, it was a horrible throbing pain. So I slept in late and went into work late, the rest of the day my head hurt and I got head rushes everytime I stood up and I was so foggy and couldn’t think straight and my head was so tight. I figured I was just having a bad day but then Wednesday morning I woke up around 4:20am with the same horrible pain in my head, I was breathing heavy and my head just wanted to explode, I started to get really scared like maybe I had a brain tumor or something, this might explain why my right eye has been twitching on and off for the past couple of weeks. So yesterday I decided to stay home and just rest. My head didn’t hurt so much during the day but everytime I got up I had a head rush and felt a little dizzy and just completely out of it all day. I decided that if it happened this morning Joe was taking me to the hospital. But to my surprise when we woke up at 4am to make sure I was ok, everything was fine. I got up and went to work on time and have felt pretty good today. I can tell the bright lights are bugging me but for the most part I don’t feel foggy and I can work ok. All I want is to feel normal and be able to lead a healthy life. So hopefully it was just a really bad migraine that lasted 2 days??? So I haven’t worked out all week. But tomorrow I want to try and run some. So please wish me luck and lets hope that it was really nothing serious. Just very strange.

Meal Plan 10-15/10-19

Sunday, October 14th, 2007

Well I said I planned out my meals for the next two weeks so I thought I’d blog what I have planned. I went grocery shopping today and Joe wasn’t with so I stayed pretty much to the list even though before I left he added a few things such as cookies but I’ll compromise. And since he wasn’t there I was able to pull a fast one and buy light mayo instead of regular, he threw a little fit when I got home and he found out but he didn’t complain about the way the sandwich tasted that I made him, so I gladly told him in my best Cartman voice to "shetup".

Breakfast:

M: yogurt & banana

T: bagel, pb, banana & skim milk

W: cereal w/ skim milk

T: cereal, kiwi, banana & skim milk

F: yogurt, strawberries & handful of nuts

I don’t plan anything for weekends because that would be a waste to time because I won’t stick to it.

Snacks: Morning and Afternoon

M: TLC granola bar / protein shake

T: protein shake / strawberries

W: pears & cottage cheese / protein shake

T: protein shake / apple

F: yogurt & crackers / protein shake

Lunch:

M: pb & j on ww, apple, carrots and mixed nuts

T: salad & crackers

W: veggie turkey loaded sub

T: veggie ham loaded sub

F: grilled chicken salad

The days that I have a salad for lunch I pack Joe a simple sandwich because he can’t eat a salad in his truck.

Dinner:

M: pasta salad & grilled chicken

T: grilled pork, green beans and rice

W: turkey sausage pasta stir fry, salad

T: grilledchicken sandwich loaded w/ veggies, sweet potato fries

F: steak fajitas, black beans

phew

Saturday, October 13th, 2007

Well as I suspected I didn’t do anything last night except gorge myself on fish tacos and ice cream, definitely my cheat night.

But, I just got done with a long run and hopefully burned up some of that crap. I’m exhausted now, but I have many errands ahead today, getting my oil changed, nails done, hopefully going to a pumpkin patch and then over to visit family. Better have a protein shake after my shower.

60.03 min/ 4.343 miles/ 564 cal.

new found motivation

Friday, October 12th, 2007

Well even though I haven’t stopped working out or stopped eatting healthy I go through cycles of being excited about it and not. Even though I do cheat probaby more often then not, I always make it an extra effort to eat properly. This week has been extremely hard for me to get up in the mornings, Joe has been on vacation all week and I had a cold, so that means when my alarm goes off, I wake to a cold pitch black house and a warm cozy husband right next to me, so as you can imagine I didn’t get up early this week at all. I got up to reset my alarm from 5am to 6:30am every day this week. But I did find time to get some wo’s in, in the evenings. Monday was nice because I took the day off with him so I got a nice 30 min run in, I took Tuesday off. Wednesday night I got a quick little walk in despite my headache and cold but to my surprise Thursday afternoon my cold had passed, well at least the headaches so that night I did Slim in 6. Didn’t do anything this morning and we’ll see what happens tonight, hard to say being Friday night and all.

I’ve completely planned out my next two weeks and this is what has gotten me excited again. For some reason getting it all on paper really motivates me, I feel secure in my plan, I know what I need to do and as the days go by I just check off my tasks. It’s much easier then wondering what wo to do and what meal to eat. I’ve also planned out every meal (brkfst, mrn snack, lunch, aftrn snack and dinner) for the next two weeks and planned a grocery list to correspond. This makes life so much easier, I like being in control and having a schedule so this works very well for me and it makes me happy because I know I’m doing the right thing.

My goal is to lose another 4 lbs by 12-18-07 and if I keep up this planning I should lose more than that. But I’m keeping my goal realistic.

from September 20th

Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007

Well this has been a crappy week as far as getting up on time. My five day hiatus began when I had to work a convention Saturday morning and was unable to get my run in, from there it took 4 more days to get my butt in gear. Maybe it’s the weather change and I’m starting to go into hibernation mode but I just can’t get up. Today I actually got up but then it was hard to wake up, so I took it easy with a light jog. I was just happy to actually be up and running. Luckily my weight has maintained over the last five days so I’m happy about that. I went Saturday and tried on some clothes and am glad to say I’m just about a size smaller. The only thing is I was trying on Calvin Klein and I know their pants fit a little bigger, so I’m not totally sold on the fact that I’m truely a size smaller. But I know I’m on my way so this is exciting. If I want to be able to wear all the high fashion clothes that are so catching my eye lately I’ll need to drop two sizes from where I am, oh and save up some money, . Damn The Hills for getting me all into nice clothes.

wow

Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007

I haven’t written in a while. However I’m still working out. Last thursday I decided to start doing some resistance training again, because I realize all this running it burning up my muscles. So all I did was 10 min of slim in 6 which included plie squats and lunges, that’s it and I was totally out of commission all weekend. Walked on Friday and soon realized that was a mistake, didn’t do anything on Sat. or Sun because I could barely walk. I was so stinking sore. This is why I had avoided doing anything like this for so long, but I realize how important it is to my program. Went for an hour/ 4 mile run yesterday but don’t know the exact numbers. I think I burned over 500 calories, the quads are a little tight today. I took this morning off, I actually got up on time but went back to bed. I just couldn’t shake the sleepy today.
