manic monday

I don’t feel like typing much this monday. I ran, despite my knee. Two days off was hard enough.

2.191 miles/ 30 min/ 289.3 cal

1/2 xtend/wpi shake

 

m1: oatmeal, berries, splenda, wheat germ, flaxseed

m2: hard boiled egg white, banana

m3: sushi!

m4: almonds, wpi shake

m5: was bad and had pizza schmizza., 1 slice pepperoni, 3 breasticks and alfredo sauce

but then I walked for 30 min so I’m trying

taking the weekend off

Well last night as I was climbing into bed & my knee popped out again. This was a breaking point for me. After I got it back into place and layed down I just started crying. This is so frustrating, I can’t do the simplist things and if I’m not concentrating on my knee I move funny and then it will pop out. I was planning on running this morning, but last night I decided I won’t run this weekend to give my knee a break. So then I planned on walking this morning, but when I woke up I decided to just take the weekend off and give my body and knee a well needed rest. I’m sore from head to toe, this weeks wo’s were tough and I’m feeling it now. I’m going to drink plenty of water and take my l-glutamine to help with the soreness. I’m also going to try and do more stretching.

off morning

I’ve been moving very slow this morning. I have barely any energy but I’m getting through it. I think it’s because I’m so sore and it’s the end of the week. I attempted to run today with the knee brace on. I got started late though so I only ran for 17 min because I wanted to take some time to stretch. I realized today that I can’t do alot of stretches because of my knee. I also can’t cross my left leg and when I put on my shoe I have to be really careful. But I can stand, walk and run so I’m happy about that.

My new fat burner is working very well. I barely have an appetite, lol. I do get hungry when I feel my tummy rumble and I eat on my scheduled times because I know I’m supposed to. But I can’t seem to eat much so it’s really working. I don’t feel too much of the energy from it except being able to get up in the mornings, but it’s a big help with the appetite which is what I need the most. Working out is no problem, it’s the eatting I have a problem with.

knee

Well as usual the doctor I went to didn’t want to listen to me. They just want to get you in and out. So she layed me down on the table and moved my knee around some and said that the knee exam is fine. She was not concerned that it pops, she wasn’t concerned that it locks. It just really bugs me that my problems don’t seem important to a DOCTOR! But then she told me that my joint is very lax and it looks like patello-femoral syndrome in which the patello moves around too much. So I need to stregthen my muscles around this area. So she set me up for physical therapy. But when she left the room I still felt completely uninformed. So when the nurse came in I told her to have the doctor come back in and feel my knee when I move it, which she didn’t do before. She wouldn’t even feel where I told her it hurt, she kept focusing on the patello (which does’t hurt). So she came back in and I made her feel the cracking and popping my knee makes when I extend my lower leg and she said oh yeah I can feel that; you might have tendonitis. Ugh, why did I have to make her do her job? She was not concerned at all with an x-ray or even really listening to me. I sure hope the physical therapist cares more and gets to the bottom of this. The doctor didn’t even tell me to stop doing the exercises that caused it. What if I was a complete moron and tried to do them again and hurt it worse. So I left with a referral for physical therapy and a knee brace to wear until I can go in.

From reading the sheet that she sent home with me, which pretty much does her job for her. I’ve come to the conclusion myself that this is a result of all the running I’ve been doing but this won’t stop me. I look forward to seeing my physical therapist and making my knee feel better.

tri’s/chest/abs

Well I worked out despite my stupid knee. Now I know what movements I can and cannot do. I cannot do anything that extends my left leg. No kickbacks, no v-ups, bicycles and I can’t do push ups either because my knee popped when I tried. Luckily today was tri’s and chest and abs. My Dr. appt. is this morning so I’ll update the situation this afternoon.

5 min warmup

pissed off at me knee

Ok throughout this exercise venture I have not injured my self once. So today I’m doing kickbacks and my left knee decides it wants to pop out of place. I have no idea what is even popping out or in. It’s on the left side of my left knee, when it’s popped out it doesn’t want to let me bend my knee. I have had this happen in the past (couple summers time ago). It was the extending out and kind of at an angle that I think did it. This just shows that proper form is everything. Not to mention though I’ve had trouble with my knees since I was 11. But once I stopped doing what I was doing and rested it for a bit it popped back but I couldn’t finish my wo the same as I would have. I was doing so good too, so therefore I’m pissed off.

5 min warmup

Well I’m at work now and my knee is worse. I’ve been putting ice on it but it’s not really swollen or anything but as soon as I sat down and touched it, something popped again and I can’t seem to fix it this time. So I’m going to the doctor tomorrow to finally find out why it does this occassionaly.

I am so completely bloated. My tummy hurts. I’ve felt like this for a couple weeks now, I can’t even really suck in my tummy. I found out about celiac sprue but I don’t think that’s it. I just think it’s a combination of diet and the heat. Even thouugh I’ve been doing more cardio and eatting less, which I would think would make me feel thinner, I’m just not. Hopefully it will go away soon. I did have a lot of bread today though and it’s hurt since I left work.

Ok I actually got up on time on a Monday for once! I was going to run and then lift a little bit of arms but after my run I was so worn out, I just spent 30 min cooling down. I did the 300 cal program again but this morning it was much harder. When I was doing the speed walking part I could barely keep up and my shins were starting to hurt so I’d have to slow the treadmill down a little to ease the pain, so I burned less calories but I stuck with the whole 30 min and still accomplished alot for a Monday morning.

I ran the 300 calorie program today on my treadmill. It’s pretty much a planned interval program and it wasn’t easy but I got through all 30 min of it.

4th of July run to freedom

Usually on a day off I stay up late the night before and then sleep in the next day and don’t get anything done. But not this time, I went to bed really early, the heat exhausted me and despite the firework competition that apparently was going on in my neighborhood I slept pretty good. Got up this morning ate some cereal and went for a run. Oh yeah and run to freedom means I’m on my way to freeing myself of old bad habits and feeling better about myself which in itself is a freedom.
