UGH!! Looking for advice
Okay so I’m a little discouraged about my weight loss. I’m at a plateau and the scale isn’t budging and my clothes still fits the same. Since May 1st I’ve been eating pretty clean with little to no cheat meals and work out religiously every day mixing both cardio and weights. M-T I do 1 1/2 hrs of cardio in the morning and then at night I do about 45/60minutes of weight training.
An average day for food looks like this.
Protein shake after cardio session at 7:00 am
1/4 cup of no fat cottage cheese with snap peas 9:30 am
Chicken salad with Spinach in lieu of iceburg lettuce w/a little low fat catalina dressing dressed with avacado 12:00 pm
1/4 cup of no fat cottage cheese with snap peas 2:30 pm
Protein shake after wo 7:00 PM
What am I doing wrong???

Eat a bit more.
Also, don’t look at the week to week losses. Take a look at your weight at the end of the month. You will fluctuate so much between the first and last of the month, but the end of the month should give a good indication of how you’re doing.
You really just started out, so don’t get discouraged.

Has your body fat changed? You could be building muscle the same rate as you are shedding fat.
How long have you been eating clean? Depending on the person, it could take up to eight weeks to notice body changes.

You should have a cheat meal once a week, it actually revs up your metabolism. Good luck and God bless:)

There is 2 big of a gap in between your 2:30 meal and your 7:00pm meal.. I would through something else in the middle of that to keep the metab ramping. You look like your metab is pretty good based on how you look. On another note, if you work out everyday.. You may have to ease up on that and give your body time to rest and sort things out, you throwing too much at it all at once. Also, how many times are you training each body part. If you are working out everday, I take it that every part of you is getting hit like 2 to 3 times a week. That is not good for muscle growth.. Lastly, most of us bodybuilders if you are cutting do consume their last meal probably 3 to 4 hours or more before bedtime. and /or make your diet cleaner

I’d also try adding one more meal to your diet as well.

well first of all, you are really lean so you don’t have much fat to draw from…i train lots of people and do lots of very low carb/very low calorie cycling plans and pull off lots of fat, you have to get ruthless with your eating due to the fact that you are so lean in order to make your body give it up!..i would keep what you have now, but for a week, replace the fat free cottage cheese with regular…you will be surprised how natural saturated fats will help you eat less and peel off some body fat…also i would recommend taking 2 diurex capsules daily during this week to help shed the water being retained by sodium in cottage cheese…diurex is cheap and very effective at any drugstore…rock on! dave

I haven’t checked my body fat in a while. I don’t like how I feel and it’s a little frustrating, I’m seriously trying. Not sure if the age is playing a roll or what is but I’m really really trying. I’m just frustrated it’s never been this hard for me. I got sick at the end of March and it was the end of April b4 I felt well enough to start this process but it’s very difficult now for some reason. TX for your support.

That’s not a recent picture, that was taken on 1-4-09 and as I said ealier there was a month where I was pretty sick with what I don’t know I think the Swine.
But from Dec until now I’ve gained 10lbs and can’t get rid of it.

Sometimes your body gets used to a routine whether it be exercising or eating. Try switching it up a bit and see if that helps. Maybe lift in the mornings then cardio at night. Maybe switching up what you’re eating as well. And, you do need to let your body rest some too.

Agreed with most of what everyone’s said so far. If you wanna keep the foods the same go up to 1/2 cup portions on the cottage cheese. If you can though try switching it out for a can of tuna with 1 tbsp fat free mayo (Kraft makes it) so it has some moisture. Also you should try to have another solid food meal at 7 instead and save the shake till bedtime and have a slow digesting protein with casein in it preferably.
