Hotter the Hell
I entered the CrossFit Houston Summer challenge yesterday and totally sucked. I did the standard division. There were two WOD’s. You had to finish the first WOD in the time limit in order to advance to the second WOD. The first WOD was:
21-15-9
- Row for Calories
- Deadlift 225
- Lateral Burpees
The time limit was 12 minutes. I was half a burpee away when time was called. Extremely pissed off that I did not make the time limit.
The temperature was 104 yesterday and probably 115 in CF Houston. It was a sauna with no air moving.
The second WOD was:
5 Rounds
- 30 Wall Shots 20 lbs
- 7 SDHP 95lbs
While I did not make the second WOD, I did this WOD today and my time was 10:38. I would have easily made the time limit in that WOD which was 15minutes.

I’m sorry that you missed the time by 1/2 a burpee..that has to bite. Be proud of yourself for A) entering the contest B) blogging about it for support & feedback from bb friends & C) I don’t even know you, but I bet that you have your eye on next years or whenever competition.
I could NOT imagine w/o in that heat!

Dude, you are an animal! IN that heat?! Friend of mine and I did our usual Saturday W/o , which is an outside deal in Charleston, SC, and it was only about 95. We were moaning and groaning, (and wilting) the whole way. Sorry you missed it , but it sounds like you whupped ass to me. Xfit is a beast any way you cut it.

eh..win some lose some..its all good. That you did it is really all that matters. You worked hard..you sweated your ass off and there is always the next challenge. Don’t be too hard on yourself.
