December 4, 2009

The weather man report 20inch snow in Houston today. Hmm! I guess I have to workout in my snow boots today.

Check out this statement

December 3, 2009

This statement by a trainer Scott Abel hit home for me today. I wanted to share it with my BB family.

"Far too many people have extraordinary goals, but are not willing to match that with the same extraordinary efforts and commitments and sacrifices required to achieve them."

- Scott Abel

Be strong and make every second count

November 30, 2009

Hey everyone, I am so excited today. I ready for a massive changes with my mind & body. I am learning that being positive in every situation is the best. We all go through our daily challenges. But it is how we handle them while going through.

Oh yeah, I load up this Thanksgiving on Protein. I had smoke, fried, broiled and bake. You name it and I had it. I did good with not loading up on the carbs. I am so proud of myself. Dessert was a piece of make you wanna  " Slap your moma sweet potatoe pie."  Like we say in the south " It was off the chain.!!

Be strong and make every second count. Peace!!

What’s up BB.com Family,

It has been a minute since writing a quick update on my life changing transformation. Things have been going steady with training and my diet has gotten soooo much better. I am more intune to my body’s likes and dislikes. When I slip up and eat bad things…then my body immediately reacts to a " damn girl why did you fed me that piece of crap". And when I eat well through out the day my body responds with " You go girl"! I love it.

On the flip side of life, work/home have been hit with the financial economy effect. My J.O.B has reduce our weekly hours/pay. It is good to have every Friday off, but the extra $$$ would be better. I am just thankful for still having a job.

I will post my pictures next week. Happy Training.

Hey everyone,

I am back to being consistent with logging my food intake by using the fitaday.com/reading information on my bodytype -scivation /increasing the intensity of my workouts- bodybuilding.com. It has been working out pretty well so far.

But I notice I have to listen to my body when it comes to getting the proper rest. I have been sleeping more lately. Which I think is good?!?! I wake up  refresh and rejunvenate most of the time. Morning workouts seems to work best for me. My hubby want to workout at night. I try to hang, but I just can’t stand being in the gym with so many people doing a bunch of nothing!!! I love the morning crew. They stay to themselves and are dedicated in getting the job done. I am all about getting the job done after listening to my old school jams.

Anyway, here is a glimpse of my workout.

Cycling class ( 60mins) 2x per week ( I love it!)

Cardio HITT/Intervals 2 x per week Inside or outside ( Whew! This is crazy, but necessary)

Running- outside for at 30mins on Sunday am (Hmm! so refreshing. It prayer time)

Weights -slight change adding my set/reps. trying new machines/workouts.

August 4, 2009

Hello BB Fam,

It has been a minute since I blog. I thought I will give a re-cap on what’s going on with my training. I wanted to first of all thank everyone for your wisdom and advice on training tips/diet plans. I am staying connected and focus on building my mind up for this fitness transformation . For the past couple of week, I have been reading, asking tons of questions and understanding my body.

Last night was a challenge. I was doing so well with my food intake, until my hubby decided to take me out for Chinese Food. I sigh for minute… with a million thoughts ran through my head. Should I go? Should I say no? As a result,it was not that bad. I made sure to load up on steam mix veggies;moo goo gai pan chicken with brown rice. Then I had 2 cups of green tea. Whew! I could remember back in the day I would have chow down on a double dish of General Tso chicken. Thank God for changing my mindframe and determine to stay focus on my lifetime goals.

Cardio: 30mins on Treadmill (intervals of 3 mins 6.0mph run / walk 2 mins 5.1mph)

Stepmill for 10mins after weights (skip every other step) Hard!!!

Legs again. Lot of lunges, squats, leg curl. I notice my hamstrings are really weak. Next week I have to focus gaining some strength in that area.

I am off tommorrow. I have to take to Driving Defense course. I pledge the fifth on that one.(smile)

Let the Truth Be told

July 8, 2009

I decide to take some progress pictures on yesterday. I was excited and nervous at the same time. I am mentally /emotionally okay with knowing that this is only the beginning. Hard work and training my mind will allow my body to follow through.  My stratgey is to plan and prepare my meals.

Cardio:45mins Treadmill 5.6mph  ( I had to push through. I went to bed late)

Focus on Chest/ Triceps- Felt really good. My mind was focus on those progress pictures the entirer time. So, I gave it my all to increase my sets/reps today.

Strong & Focus

July 7, 2009

I manage to have a good night sleep. I feel so refresh after my morning workouts. I had a chance last night to really focus on my evening feedings. I notice that I am not really hungry, just bored at times. The kids are staying with my mom this week. So, the hubby and I have been hanging out. I miss that alot. It is really hard during the school year to really relax and connect. Between football (son) & cheerleader (daughter) practice, homework, cook and clean. It’s kind of hard.

Anyway, I decide to use my time wisely by hitting the gym or finding a cardio workout DVD to do at home. Any suggestions?? I am just trying to find different way to increase my cardio and add variety.

Today, I focus on my back with increasing my weights. As I mention, I felt really strong today. I wonder if it is the Muscle Mik (protein) or proper rest?!!! Whatever it maybe..I’m loving it.

Cardio: 30mins 5.7mph Treadmill Running / 10mins level 12 Stepmill (need to increase)
