Competition update

August 12, 2009

I had my competition and bagged the 1st place in my weight class. And so did the 2nd place in all around top 10 class. Boy I’m glad I made that happen after all the **** I went through the final few weeks of preparations. 

 

There is another national level competition on 5th of next month which I hope to compete. However I’m pretty sure that I won’t be able to make a place in it coz that would be a pro show with lots of experienced and big guys competing in. But I want to give it a shot for the experience. At lease it will help me out to go on stage with the big guys and get a video footage which will come in handy later on.

I have started to cut down on my carbs in order to lose fat. I just want to get ripped and more defined within the next few weeks. Currently my weight is about 76kg but I want to reduce somewhere down to 72. And the dream for 6 pack still is not a reality!!

I’m 2 days away from my next competition. I have trained hard and fixed my diet as correct as possible for the last 8 weeks. However with the recent personnel issues I had,  3 weeks went down the drain. I failed to workout out with the intensity which I was used to be and failed to maintain my diet properly at time. But my wife is back at home and I can see some clear skied up ahead. 

 

Maybe I won’t be able to achieve what I wanted for this competition but I will surely for the next one. Fingers crossed.

1 Week more to go

I have a competition coming up next Wednesday and I feel like my motivational levels are dropping. I used to train hard with good progress but with my wifes sickness my routine completely went out of hand. I skipped several workout days and my rest became irregular. The biggest issue is my meals. Now I depend on meals from outside and they are just pretty bad.
 

However from today I have started to do exercises with more rep range to gain more definition. I was not well educated on the competition preparation but I read this  http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/layne36.htm last week so got a bit of an idea on the subject. So hoping to use at least the last few days to have some improvements.
 

I feel like I have gained a bit fat which I worked my ass off to shred off within the last 2 months. And it’s all bad diet L

Stupid gym rules & regulations

Currently I’m freaking irritated with my Gym. They have come up with some stupid rules and regulations lately. They say only one workout session per day is allowed. Which means now I cannot work out 2 times a day. And the treadmills are restricted to maximum 15mts use.

I do get that some kind of a cost reduction mechanism is required at every establishment these days. But this is plain stupid. Specially being a gym they should understand why people come there at the first place. They can just treat clients like people who visit a Laundromat. Ass holes. 

Things gone for a six

My wife was hospitalized few days back with a spine ache. Doctors diagnosed it as a spinal wound kind of a thing. She cannot get up at the moment and me having a really hectic time. My meals are totally out of order and have no time to hit the gym. I think I’m gonna loose few pounds eventually and will fail to hit my goals soon. At the moment she is my priority and hoping to take her home by next week. And then concentrate on my upcoming competition if can. Life sucks at the moment.

When ever I workout at the gym I usually get quite a bit of attention so it makes me a bit tense. Not that I’m shy or any thing but when I feel that some one is closely watching I tend to give more attention to my form than the actual muscle at work. This some times makes me forget the number of reps I’m doing or make me do more than I used to or should be doing. And I noticed that some times I rest for too long. This happens when some people wants to talk with me or get my advice on some exercises etc. 

 

So after noticing these lapses from my side I’m trying hard to concentrate more on the workout and my body when I really push hard. And to stick in to strict form and rest. For years I have being working-out for the pleasure of it. But few weeks back I have set my mind to compete. And yes it was one of the greatest decisions which I have taken when it comes to my fitness history. I participated for a novice bb competition last Saturday and loved doing it. All the wonderful guys I met there and the enthusiasm which runs sky high amazed me. 

 

From now on I have set my mind to compete. So I will train harder, eat right and get the correct supplements to gain muscle, shred fat and win a title some day. My next meet is in another 8 weeks. So I have changed my workout plans and started to prepare for it.
