Well, this is me… Or shall I say what I have become. I used to be rather fit in high school and in the beginning of college. Once getting towards the end of my years at college I stopped eating breakfast and lunch because I was getting very stressed out with school. So by the time dinner came around, well I ate 2-3 times what I should have and then I would eat even more late at night. Mainly junk stuff that you find in the freezer aisle at Sam’s Club and places like that. My wife was too busy at the time to really notice and we were both generally stressed out. In those last two years I went from about 220 up to nearly 300 lbs. It was horrible and I didn’t really see it coming.

After starting work in 2005 I was working out (not knowing really what I was doing) and eventually gave up because my work out buddies gave up as well. Sad to say that 3 years later we are all the same. I then started working out again in October 2006 with the help of my wife and a fancy new fitness center. It was great for the first 5-6 weeks until my doctor said I should stop working out because of my back. Well I stopped then and didn’t start again. I was able to tone up quite a bit to where people were noticing and making comments. That lifted my mood quite a bit until the doctor recommended that I discontinue lifting weights.
I feel this time is different than previous times because I have an exercise routine (Muscle and Fitness’s Rock Hard Challenge) and a diet (derivative based on the same challenge). I’m looking for support from folks here and from friends and family. It would be great to chat with someone who has been here and done it. I would find that motivational especially if I had to report my progress. I wouldn’t have / make excuses then. But this time I am really sick of having become this large for this long. It has to stop now. It will stop now.

Take care…
