70 pounds and dissappointment

The rants are officially beginning today and I will do my best to keep up with them weekly.  As many of you know, I maxed out at 249 pounds.  I am almost at my "ideal" body weight, but now I have some new goals that I am working toward and am really starting to struggle.  At 249, I wanted to lose weight, but now at 175, I find myself wanting to gain 10 pounds of muscle, which would help me really fill out in the right way.  But, like before, I struggle with calories and how much to eat that will build muscle while not gaining all the weight back in the wrong way…Argh!!!!  Its just too easy for me to justify eating when I work out and I really have to force myself to eat anymore…but manage to get in 6 meals a day, so I am at least happy about that.

My workout schedule:

T, Th, Sat, Sun - Lift and 45 minutes of cardio

Wed - Off

Cardio - M, F

I understand that to build, people are saying that too much cardio is counter-productive, I can quickly see the differences when I don’t do cardio in how quickly I can gain or lose weight.  At least tonight is chest night…I always look forward to that.

That is a lot of Cardio! Increase your protein intake.. even if you have to do it by drinking protein shakes!

But wow you have great will power when it comes to cardio! My hat goes off to YOU!!! Keep up the great work!!!

    Hi Chelish,
thanks for the comment. I saw about a month ago that I needed to bump up my protein intake and have been really trying to get between 100 and 200 grams per day, but it is really tough. Honestly, harder to get protein than do the cardio since I feel so guilty when I don’t do it.

    All the best - AJ
