Well, PlanetTamar is going to have to undergo knee surgery within the next five weeks. Not only is my medial meniscus torn, I have severe softening of the cartilage behind my knee (which has given me arthritis), I have lateral patella subluxation, AND I have a partial tear of my ACL! I cannot believe it…well, actually I can believe it. I am going to MONITOR the ACL and just have the meniscus and knee cap surgery. I will have MRI’s every few months to make sure that my ACL is not getting worse. It is about the only thing that I can do…….unless I want to totally fix it now, but then I will be outta commission from training properly for competing for atleast 4-6 months. So, I am opting to monitor it and hopefully I will not tear it even further.  So………just thought I would fill you all in since so many of you are so kind and check in on me and my progress. I appreciate the the thoughts, well wishes, and concern thus far! You all are awesome! I will keep you posted on the surgery dates so that you can help me keep my head up! I hate going under the knife and I HATE being laid up. But, good news….I can train (cardio) within one week of the surgery I am having for sure.  Atleast I will not be getting fat! Not only is Tax Season upon us, but so is an impending knee surgery for me. I so badly wanted to compete this year, but may not get to because the Dr. that I saw yesterday is calling for new MRI’s to see how badly I have damaged my knee and torn meniscus from 2 years of cortisone shots so that I could continue to train and compete. Oh well, it is what it is and if I have to take extra time off due to my knee healing then I will have to do that. Being that I am only 31, I am still young and I have plenty of time to recuperate and get strong again, as long as I take care of this NOW!
I know that many of you wanted to see me hit the stage again and I wish that I could this year, but it may be unlikely for 2008. What I will concentrate on doing is re-shaping my body for the 2009 season! I want longer and leaner looking legs which I can only achieve with a good working knee! So, that is about it for now. I am going to see if the Dr. will allow me to tape the surgery so that I can keep you all posted on my surgery, recovery, etc. on Bodybuilding.com! Thanks for your well-wishes. xoxo Tamar

Well, it is official….my KNEE SUCKS! LOL I have a torn medial meniscus and after having 5 SHOTS of Cortisone, it is not doing anything to help my knee out. The last shot that I had did not even touch the pain as I believe that my meniscus tear is a lot worse than it was 2 years ago when I got diagnosed with it.
This is leaving me in a very difficult position as it is a BITCH to work out, especially legs. When I train, by the time I am done, I cannot hardly walk. My legs swell up if I sit to long or stand to long. My muscular definition is dwindling away and I feel like a balloon. It is very depressing to say the least because I really wanted to compete this year. I do not know if I am even going to attempt to compete in FAME or Fitness U in just the bikini model portion of the competition. I really wanted to, but it is hard for me to do anything. Prescription anti-inflammatory do not work, either…does not touch the pain! So, I am pretty much screwed there. So……….I am just dealing with it as best as possible. I am hitting up a new Doctor in Sarasota, FL that specializes in athletes so maybe he can understand better the need for me to get back into the gym as soon as possible. I am going to be documenting my surgery and the like on video (if he lets me) so that you all can get a great appreciation for what I have to go through….LOL and maybe it can help others with pain and suffering, too. I made a huge mistake by getting shot after shot instead of just having the surgery done. So……..that is a major lesson right there! Stay posted with me! This could be a funny ride……and video series for those who watch!

Watch out everyone….I am putting the bikinis and the sexy clothes back on and will be modeling again this year! I am looking forward to being super creative, working with some of my favorite photographers, like Rich Cutrone, Todd Plinke, Daniel Andres, Matt Robinson, etc (to name a few). I miss it and I want to bring sexy back! LOL I firmly believe that I can be a professional female entrepreneur and still be sexy at the same time. Anyway, I am about to watch a movie, the second installment of National Treasure, so I will be back to blog later on. Hope you all have a great night….and yes, I am still competing. I will be doing the Ava Cowan Fame Tropical on May 17th in Fort Lauderdale. Then I will be doing the Fitness Universe in Miami in June. In Fame I am competing as a Fitness Model and Bikini Model. In FUP, I will be doing Bikini Model. Not so sure about getting super lean, unless my knee can handle it! Talk to you soon!!!! xoxo Tamar

Well, I am officially in Ohio at the AC! I spent the day organizing my room, cooking my food (that I bought at the Whole Foods Market….it was 76,000 square feet!), and hanging out with my buddy Ava Cowan.
Tomorrow I will be at the Southern Muscle Plus Booth at 10:30 AM to set up with Shannon and Rob and then will be signing autographs at 12noon until 2PM…..then again…but not sure on the time. I will be there all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday! I CANNOT wait to meet all the wonderful people that I talk to here on Bodyspace, Myspace, etc!
Ava is going to be at the Dream Tan Booth! Make sure you stop by to see her as well. I will be writing a detailed account of my experience here in Ohio, so please be sure to check my website.
I will also be posting all sorts of photos, etc that I take….hopefully with a lot of pros! YEAH!

Well, I am underway and dieting for my first NPC show of 2008, the Shannon Dey Figure and Fitness Classic on April 19, 2008. I am really excited about getting back on stage and showcasing a different physique AND better posing! Yeah!
Everything is going pretty well. I am CRAVING chocolate like mad, but I just got my monthly friend….LOL……so…..I gotta try to fight it!
I cannot wait to go to Ohio to the Arnold Classic and I am excited about seeing my first cover of a magazine. I have seen it online, but I cannot wait to hold it in my hands! I hope to see you all at the Arnold! Please come by the Southern Muscle Plus Booth if you want to meet me! xoxoxoxoxo Tamar

Wow…I have been honored!!!! Southern Muscle Plus Magazine has put me on their Premier Issue of the newly revised magazine covering the NPC shows in the Southeastern USA! I will be at the Arnold Classic signing autographs and working the SMP booth! I am soooo excited! This is what networking, training hard, and making great friends in the business is all about!!!! Wow….it is finally happening again! I just started a new video series for Bodybuilding.com on dieting, competing, and working out!!!! I am thrilled to be doing this again! I love Bodybuilding.com and I love Oxygenfit.com . I will be doing workouts in my HOME with the OXYGENFIT brand equipment…..to show people how easy and effective it can be to train at home with mininal equipment and I will be training at the gym. I love training at the gym and pumping iron. Both the gym and Oxygenfit workouts are awesome! In my video series I will be training with my new training partner, Brittany, aka Britness. She is awesome and a great motivator for me. She is built just like me, but is about 5 inches shorter. I call her my mini me.
