MRI Results….NOT GOOD. :-(
Well, PlanetTamar is going to have to undergo knee surgery within the next five weeks. Not only is my medial meniscus torn, I have severe softening of the cartilage behind my knee (which has given me arthritis), I have lateral patella subluxation, AND I have a partial tear of my ACL! I cannot believe it…well, actually I can believe it. I am going to MONITOR the ACL and just have the meniscus and knee cap surgery. I will have MRI’s every few months to make sure that my ACL is not getting worse. It is about the only thing that I can do…….unless I want to totally fix it now, but then I will be outta commission from training properly for competing for atleast 4-6 months. So, I am opting to monitor it and hopefully I will not tear it even further.
So………just thought I would fill you all in since so many of you are so kind and check in on me and my progress. I appreciate the the thoughts, well wishes, and concern thus far! You all are awesome! I will keep you posted on the surgery dates so that you can help me keep my head up! I hate going under the knife and I HATE being laid up. But, good news….I can train (cardio) within one week of the surgery I am having for sure.
Atleast I will not be getting fat! LOL Hugs and Kisses! Have an awesome weekend! xoxo Tamar

Damn that sucks. I feel your pain I have had my fair share of knee injuries(both of ‘em) with my profession. I’ve had a fair share of surgeries too. One recommendation I would make would be to stay away from the cortisone shots(as long as possible). they may take away pain but they promote arthritis. Toredol (sp?) works well to take the edge of pain off. Any how, I hope everything goes well for you and rehab goes as expected and you get healthy soon. Good luck.
