MRI Results….NOT GOOD. :-(
Friday, April 18th, 2008Well, PlanetTamar is going to have to undergo knee surgery within the next five weeks. Not only is my medial meniscus torn, I have severe softening of the cartilage behind my knee (which has given me arthritis), I have lateral patella subluxation, AND I have a partial tear of my ACL! I cannot believe it…well, actually I can believe it. I am going to MONITOR the ACL and just have the meniscus and knee cap surgery. I will have MRI’s every few months to make sure that my ACL is not getting worse. It is about the only thing that I can do…….unless I want to totally fix it now, but then I will be outta commission from training properly for competing for atleast 4-6 months. So, I am opting to monitor it and hopefully I will not tear it even further.
So………just thought I would fill you all in since so many of you are so kind and check in on me and my progress. I appreciate the the thoughts, well wishes, and concern thus far! You all are awesome! I will keep you posted on the surgery dates so that you can help me keep my head up! I hate going under the knife and I HATE being laid up. But, good news….I can train (cardio) within one week of the surgery I am having for sure.
Atleast I will not be getting fat! LOL Hugs and Kisses! Have an awesome weekend! xoxo Tamar
