Competing, Sponsorship, and Crying…..
Well, I am not one to cry the blues and pussy-foot around, but I am in trouble. I desperately want to compete, but it is either going to be compete and eat, or pay my bills and hope that nothing gets taken away.
I am not asking anyone on here for money, but I am certainly looking for any type of legitimate sponsorship that can help me to achieve my goals. I need some people with faith in me and what I can do. After my beautiful experience at the Southern States, I know that I can do this and I know that I can do very well at competing. I was told by everyone that I have the right look and a great physique (just needed to be a bit leaner) and that I could turn pro within one calendar year. But, as great as that is, it is impossible to do without some financial help! Yes, I know that I am married, but my husband pays all of our main bills and then after that we have nothing left over for extras let alone emergencies.
If I were to be sponsored by someone or even a few people, I would be more than happy to repay them with services such as booth work, spokesmodeling, or even a photoshoot that they could use all my pics for advertising, etc. I have a marketable look and above that I am really intelligent and super nice. I hate the position that I am in because I am crying all the time and I do not even have the energy to make it to the gym. I really got myself into a bind by doing the Southern States, and I even got to save a few bucks by staying with my mother in law.
If anyone has any ideas on how I can do this legitimately (I do not do porn, escort work, etc), then please let me know. Any advice and ideas would be highly appreciated! Thank you so much! Take care and God Bless. Tamar

Hi, it is the same all over the world I see. I have the same problems. And I have to say, I am from Europe and here - especially in the Czech republic - the fitness industry is very underdeveloped.
I got one sponsorship gift before my first international competition - and I am very very very thankfull to it (I wrote some articles for those firm). But it was only one moment action.
Now I have to probbably omit the Autumn seson, because I dont have any money to travell.
Good luck when searching for the sponsoship. Try some partners for whoom do you write articles for example. Or try to offer some courses for emploees (I did it too).
I hope you will have the opportunity to compete soon.

Hi Tamar, I left a comment, not sure if you got the one before this or not. Im sorry your having some problems. Im not trying to be negative, or a downer, but this sport is so expensive, and never gets any better! I have seen it tear marriages up. I have seen girls do some crazy things to pay for the lifestyle. Christi is personal friends with the pro Tazzie Columb. She wrestles nude, and Im sure does a lot more, with guys to pay for her lifestyle. The bodybuilding and figure world is very deceiving. It looks clean and fun, BUT ITS NOT! people dont turn pro because of how good they are, its what they have done for people. Even in the figure, the drugs are bad, trust me, I have seen it! Dont let the other girls lie to you. As far as Pete Francher goes, he is a lying, using piece of shit that will do anything to get into a girls, or even guys pants! And yes, he seems so nice and sincere. I sat on the plane with him on the way to the arnold classic. Trust me on this Tamar, I have a ton of friends on the inside, through powerlifting, its a nasty, ugly sport on the inside! Dont ruin your life chassing this dream. You bust your ass, starve yourself, for what? The next thing you know, you wasted part of your life! I wasted 8 years of mine! Enjoy life, were only here once. Your a sweet, pretty girl, have a wonderful hubby, enjoy these things in life. And trust me, no one is going to just flat sponsor you with out being pro yet. If they do, they will try to hook you, and get you to do some un pleasurable things! Do your modeling, keep training to look good, and trust me, you will be happier in the end. Take care, and Christi and I are proud of you for competing! Mike Witmer

Hi there! Ran across your blogs by accident!! I’ve been experiencing the same thing in prep’n for my show. The price of suits are unreal and let’s not talk about the supplements..Long story short, I mentioned to my workout partner on how annoyed I was w/ every1 at the gym having some form of advice to give me, but really don’t know me or who my trainer is…i told him I was going to tell them they could help by being a sponsor..I said I’d take $10, $15 whatever they could spare.. my partner had no ideal the cost of things and asked it was I needed. I was telling him about my suits and he has offered to pay for my 1 piece! What a blessing!! So, I say keep letting ppl know your goals and that you are looking for a legitimate sponsors. He knows my drive and how hard I’ve worked for this so I feel very comfortable accepting his money…but I’m sure there will be some1 out there look’n for a "hook up," which I need to be cautious of. Take care!
