I went to the gym yesterday and every machine that I can use was full. People start using the handcycle machine and give up real quick, but people were hopping on it one after another. Pedaling with your arms is not easy. You have to build yourself up to it. All the posers thought the stuff I usually do was easy, they had bad form, and gave up real fast. The bad thing was that there were tons of them last night. I think they like to work-out before biggest loser so they don’t feel bad.

Today at the gym, I observed an awesome thing. This dude that always supersets around the gym like he owns it got shut down by some huge dude with an attitude. It wasn’t so cocky today. I like to say,"what goes around, comes around".

I have started to do more core work than my other muscle groups. I do a work-out to strengthen my weak guts, backs, and obliques. I work hard, but it is different. I like how my other muscle get that little soreness to them. My abs and back get sore, but that sucks for mobility. My back is kickin’ in, I want to be able to sit on a stool by summer.

My wife and I went and worked-out today. We were ticked off atthis young guy apparently super-setting the entile weight room, or at least the most popular equipment. I understand the usefulness of the super-set, but we all gotta’ share. I almost went up to him to ask his name. I was gonna’ tell him I had never met the gym owner before.

I changed the way I work my shoulders. I use the SM and do my shoulder press. I read the proper way to do the exercise, now I can do more weight and not hurt my shoulders. I was lowering my hands to far before. I now only let the bar line up at eye level to finish the movement. My wife likes to us the SM instead of the shoulder press machine also. I want to start adding weight now. I would like my shoulder press to match my lat pull downs.

Last week my wife and I turned my kids playroom into an office. Good thing, I don’t have to work at the kitchen table with the laptop now. We went and worked out this morning. I think that changing things up has helped me. Always changing reps or weights has really helped my progress, no significant changes yet, put there coming. Measurements to come to.

I have decided to focus more on self motivation. I want to amp my adventures up a litte. I have handcycled marathons, 25ks, 10 mile, and 5k races. This year I wiill do my first tri-athlon. I am going to make a sign for the handrail of my ramp that leads out of my house the says "Because You Can!". That way I remember why I do this stuff to my self. Every time I wheel out of the house the sign will remind me that I keep pushin’ through for all the people that can’t do what I have been given the honor to do, compete. The way I look at it; People always feel bad for persons with disabilities, but There is no shame in a person doing what they can with what they have, shame on those that don’t use what they have been given!

Last night I finished up my last phase in my tri-phase plam. I started the fall with a 5×5, then hit the tri-phase, now I start conditioning for the season fast approaching. The 5×5 built a ton of strength, the the tri-phase plan built strength quality. I have to start tons of cardio and hit the compound exercises. I am still going to work my triceps to push the arm size if I can. It snowed today, but the road will be clear in two, two and a hlf months.

Today, my wife and I sent to the gym. I did another arms/shoulders day, and she did legs. I taught her how to do squats wth the SM. I wonder what everyone thought of seeing the guy using a wheelchair teaching his with how to squat properly? Next week I am starting the final couple of months workout plan before my handcycle season. Cardio here I come! I have to register for my May race, and reserve a hotel room. I want to hit the road on my bike by the beginning of April, we will see how the weather goes.

I am addicted to weight lifting. I love to push or pull bigger and bigger weights. I am not super strong yet, but I get sorta stoned off the big lifts, for me the bench press and lat rows are the biggest. I love it! When I get to my last rep and my muscles are screaming at me to quit and I make them, force them to do what I want, GOOOOD! Maybe it is because my legs won’t work right, but I just love to make the abilities I have stretch. I love progressing from load to load, week after week and overcoming my limits. Don’t ya love it? Its good!
