June gloom, but all is still well!!

Hi everyone - so as I was beckoned by certain Goddess-bb’ers *cough Suzy and Maddi cough*, I thought I’d write up a quick update.  First off - I ran the Camp Pendleton Mud Run again this year (10k with obstacles in mud) and my team placed 13th (out of 60, we would’ve placed in the 30’s out of 200 if we had one guy on our team!) in the all women’s division… not bad considering I had a healing stress fracture, one was pregs, two had a cold, and another just did a tri!  Plus, we missed placing top 10 by 54 seconds, ARGH!  haha - next year, we’re convinced the power of matching shirts will put us in single digit placing! ;)

I’m still practicing with dragon boat team, and we have our first (well, my first) festival in August!!  I’m SO nervous, but totally excited since there seems to be a lot of teams from all over coming for it!  I really think a lot of my weight training has helped with this, and it’s kinda cool to put said training into practice!  Plus, when B (the guy I’m dating) is all healed from his shoulder injury, it’s going to help a lot with rock climbing.  Yay :)

And B… sigh… haha.  Things are going wonderfully with him, and being in a normal relationship where we’re, like, communicating and expressing ourselves openly and stuff, totally works… whowouldathunk?? ;)   But yeah, I’m definitely enjoying my time with him, and feel really lucky to have him in my life.  He tends to like more outdoorsy activities (I think he’s the first guy I’ve dated that doesn’t go to the gym, crazy! haha), so we have a lot of fun going on hikes and stuff.  He totally makes me laugh and the physical chemistry is amazing… I’m even switching my workouts at night sometimes to hang out with him (and I usually look forward to waking up at 4 am to work out), that’s how whipped I am! lol  Okay, okay… /end gush here

Anyway, I hope you guys and gals are prepping for a fantastic summer ahead!!  I am hopeful I can run consistently within the next couple of weeks, just in time for all this icky June gloom to go away and for a happy Pixi to frolic and run around in her awesome hometown.  Happy Training and know I’m always cheering you on!! xo

Everything sounds and looks bright, I don’t know where you get the "doom and gloom". Keep moving forwards and enjoying your journey. Also have a blast at the dragin boat festival, embrace the atmoosphere, compete your hardest and celebrate some more.

Sounds like you and "B" are working well together! Sara and I will be celebrating our 6 year wedding anniversary on Fathers Day this year. I can’t believe it’s been 6 years!! Good to hear from you again.
