Mid-May already?!

Happy Friday, lovelies!!!  MAN, I’ve been huge slacker-style on here, and I apologize for that… I hope everyone is doing well and getting ready for my favorite season of the year - SUMMER!!  Oh, let the scantily-cladness commence… me likey! ;)   Here’s the updates in Pixi-Land:

1) STILL haven’t been running (grrr), but I’ve been spinning and biking immensely!  I tried the elliptical these past few days and my leg seems to be holding up, so I think I’m going to try and run on it this weekend.  I hope it works, because in three weeks, I was going to do the FUN Camp Pendleton Mud Run with my homies, which is a 10k in obstacles.  Plus, I have 2 half’s lined up this year, so wish me luck that my injury is gone!

2) I HAVE been lifting weights pretty consistently, and took up a new sport to test all my hard training in the gym - Dragon Boat Racing!!  It’s essentially a 12-20 person team in a boat where you row and race another team.  It’s super fun and the coach said I did exceptionally well so he hopes I join.  YAY!  My "real" training is this Sunday which is two hours long (compared to the 40 minutes the past previous weekends), so I’m stoked!

3) I start a new job!!  I’m SUPER nervous because I always get anxious in new environments and meeting new people, but hopefully I earn my street cred quickly ;)   It’s a great career move, though, so I’m pretty stoked.

4) Been dating a guy the past few months and he’s SO awesome - he’s a mountaineer (climbed 3 of the 7 summits of the 7 continents), super into rock climbing, intelligent, funny, plays the guitar, and hot hot HOT.  I likey and hopefully we’re gonna go on some fun rock climbing/camping trips this summer/fall.  YAY!

5) Diet is super HARD!!  I’ve been eating cleaner the past month, and it’s still hard to lose weight.  I'’m starting to see that with not running, I have to reduce my carbs drastically (even with the spin/bike stuff), so I’m working on that.  I need to reduce my mass, though, for both rock climbing and running when I’m up to speed again.

Anyway, that’s pretty much it in Pixi-Land… I’ll catch up with all y’all love bugs soon, but I hope you’re training hard and looking hotter than you already are!!  Love you xo

Thanks for the update. One of my college friends has climbed 4 of 7, and just missed by a few hundred meters Everest, and The one in Indonesia. He is also a triathelete, and has qualified and raced in the Hawaii ironman. seems as if you are busy. Hope your body lets you run. You rock Pixie. Keep moving Forwards and enjoy your journey.

I can definitely relate about the weight. When I slacked off my running for two months this year I gained 5 pounds. Yuck. Hence, the diet. Good luck!

It is good to hear the injury is healing! I could never run 10k. It makes me sweat thinking about it! I would not worry about any weight gained. You did say you were lifting consistantly so you would have to assume some at least is muscle. Just stick to the measurements. They are more fun to look at then the scale is anyways! Good luck with your new job!!
