The holidays already!?
What up, home skillets! I hope you are doing fantastic, keeping healthy, and training hard! Here’s some updates that’s going on in my neck of the woods:
1) My half-marathon training is going well, albeit I’m a lot slower now (part because I’m up to 125 and part because I’ve been somewhat slacker in my training the past few weeks). I’m still set to run the January half-marathon, and though my "secret" goal would be to run it in at least 2 hours, I hope to just finish without crying!
Thankfully, I’m still running injury-free!
2) Weights have been more of less weights/high reps method, and on a 3-day rotation (tri/chest/shoulders, back/bi/abs, legs). My issue lately has been the consistency, and a lack of motivation since I’m doing the same stuff day in and day out. I need to spruce up the routine, or maybe switch to a one body part a day since I’m running more lately.
3) Diet - some days are good, some days are bad. With dating (and okay, my lack of discipline), I’ve put on 5 pounds within the last month (month, I say, MONTH!
). So I either have to get more control and plan my meals out more carefully, or eliminate dating (or at least have dates that don’t include eating/drinking, since it’s just too darn tempting to go nuts when I’m not paying lol). I really need to tighten this up more since I already feel a difference in my joints when running - no bueno!
4) Men - I’m justifying this as an update since I’m meeting a lot of fitness-minded guys lately. lol In the past few weeks I’ve dated in the range of 23 years old (Holy Cougar, LOL) to 44 years old, blue-collar to white-collar, and triathlete/adventure-racer-types to bodybuilder-types. Each one has their own fun and cool qualities, but I’m trying to not rush into things and just having fun with it. I’m planning on taking some classes next year to kind of focus on my career, so that’s going to occupy my time a bit more next year. My motto next year is progression, not stagnation!
Anyway, I hope all of you get to spend some quality time with your loved ones in the next few weeks, and I hope you have a PHENOMENAL kickstart to 2009!! Love your guts!!

On #3 here : If you are dating fitness minded people, just make the dates with an upfront commitment to be healthy. The fitness freaks will understand…

Awesome blog, Pixi. Best of luck with the training and your race.
I’ve never done a marathon or a half-marathon but have completed two "turkey trots" or ten-mile races. One in 72:00 and one in eighty minutes. That was a million years ago (or feels like it).
I was thrilled to hit 200 just to say I did but, no, not especially liking the look of 200. :p Definitely on a cut right now.
Have a great holiday!
