No Mas Fiestas de… uh, Pity :)
Yeah, can you tell I only took a year of Spanish in college (3 years of French in high school, though the only thing I can recall were a lot of "haw haw haw’s!" French-mock laughters
). But last night before the guy came over, I made a list of the things that have been going on in my life and decided to separate them with the things I can control and the things that I can’t. I always picture my thoughts as light beams (kinda like the 80’s style Space Mountain ride) and sometimes they go so fast and all at once, that my focus gets lost and I become frustrated. So by writing all the stuff down, it definitely helped to manage all the frustrations and, funny enough, like 80% of the stuff were things beyond my control. And if it’s beyond my control… why go nutty about it, you know? I guess I do because it’s stuff going on in my family or friends’ lives, and I just want the best for them… but, I guess all I can really do is be there for them and listen. So, yeah… I just gotta let it go! But thank you SO much for your comforting words and support - it means a ton (plus 13.4 fl. oz.) to this chickie!
So Happy Fluff Friday Week 4, everyone!! My workouts were on point (though I did go above my cardio allocations and ran 30 miles and biked 45 trying to exorcise via exercise the previously noted frustrations… but I used 60’s for the tricep pushdown 21’s with a straight bar and supine grip on Wednesday!), but the diet had one hiccup in the form of tempura shrimp and veggies and white rice (though I did eat the green salad since it counters it, right? j/k). I haven’t stepped on the scale or measured today since the guy came over last night to hook up my computer (access to the triple dub (www.) at home, woot woot!), assemble my baker’s rack (now known as the bar
), and hang my bike mount (kind of an eye sore in the studio since I wanted it to look really girly, but I didn’t want to leave it out in the patio since I’m on ground floor). I love me a guy with some McGuyver skills! I will check during my next Savage check-in, though, and post pics. I do think I’m progressing, though, since my jeans are looser even after drying them (usually I have to do a little wiggle dance to get in them
). But I hope everyone has a fantabulous weekend - nothing but relaxing and couch shopping for me this weekend (and attempting Stormi’s workout), yay!!

Oh thats awesome your gonna do my workout!! HOLY my abs hurt like a ….well they hurt today!! It hurts to laugh!!
I always try to make a gratitude list when i’m totally down. HONESTLY…for almost a month I couldnt even do that…that was how bad I was down…NOT ME AT ALL! It scared me! lol
So no worries!! I’m back to goofy, dorky, happily blissful in this crazy adventure called life again!! lol I’m glad to hear you are getting there too!!
Your studio apartment sounds so fantastic!! I know most people dream of a house…but honestly…I would love nothing more than a very artsy apartment with a huge balcony! lol

I’ve had plenty of days when I thought I was blissfully running down life’s roads just to find out I’m on a stinkin treadmill but way to pull yourself out of it. Maybe you can tie ribbons to your bike rack or something girl or hang curtains to cover it. Don’t know, I’m not girlie. I like my bike encrusted in mud.

Control what you can, and let go those things you can’t control. You rock Pixie, and keep rocking forwards. Enjoy your journey.

I’m glad you feel better. I worry about Ms. Glitterpants sometimes. Cheers to the loose jeans and cardio release!!! I’m still doing the wiggle dance to get in my jeans when they come form the dryer. (turns green with envy). Have a great weekend and onward to week 5. My God, is it week five already?

Making that list is SUCH a good idea, Pixi!! It’s amazing how much energy we expend on things we absolutely have NO control over! What a great way to ground yourself and get some perspective!
YAY for looser jeans! I both LOVE and HATE when my jeans get loose, mostly because I LIKE my jeans painted on, but I like seeing progress!
Keep on going, hot thing you! Have a luscious weekend.

Oh! You’ve given me a shinning light at the end of a tunnel Pix! I love your "exorcise thru exercise" with the cardio!!!! I can do that! I can focas on releasing some frustrations! lol!
I love your list idea. So many times just allowing our brains to see things in black and white really helps to put life back into perspective. You have a nice easy weekend and can’t wait to see your uploaded pics!

Sweet!! I’m so going to have to try that sorting out, writing down thing. You are so smart!!!

Every week I dump my work bag and clear all the lists I’ve made…consoldiate the items that I haven’t completed and smile at the items that I hace. Good to read that I have company in this
Keep it up MissPix!

Listing issues and then recognizing things you have the power to control and those you don’t is such a healthy thing…i should do the same….. thank you for that reminder - lil’ miss shining lite!!!!
you glow!!!
as for the loose jeans fresh out of the dryer…THAT IS A BIG DEAL!!!! go pixi!!!

Good for you girl for stepping back and re- evaluating things. Sometimes the hardest thing to do is to come to terms with the out of control stuff. And O-YEAH! to the loosely-fit-outta-the-dryer jeans! Unfortunately, my slim jim days have passed for the time being…gained a whooping 11lbs since the show! OUCH.
June 27, 2008 at 9:58 pm
The list is SUCH a good idea! I will have to try that with my clients (the kids). And, yes, it is AWFUL when there are significant issues in the lives of people you care deeply about, even if we don’t have control over it. It still hurts… Good work on the workouts, my friend, and YAY to looser just-out-of-the-dryer jeans!!! That’s the best! And I think it’s ok to go over in cardio… I have to admit that my plan calls for 4 days of cardio, 30 minutes each session, but I say 6 days since I am getting ready for the show… oh, ok, and I am a WHORE for cardio!

Hey Pixi,
That is the way to push through challenging times. Lists and exercise. Love it.
Happy to hear about your success with FTF and home improvements. McGuyver guys are the best. I hope he enjoyed the brown rice and skinless chicken treat after the work..j/k..lol.
3 more weeks baby! We are doing it.

Good to hear that you’ve separated the things you can and can’t control. why stress yourself over things you can not change. Stress can hurt you in many ways. finding ways to eliminate them is great step to a better you… especially if you workout. You can look great and be stress free.
2 more weeks girl. Let’s finish tough… buff!

Your hours in French class are as good an investment as my 5 years of German class I see LOL The only thing I remember is the phrase: "Mach schnell!", which is kinda like saying: "Shake a leg!!!" or "c’mon - double-quick time" … of course said with the well know sound of deep throat German experience
It’s awesome that you’re still shredding fluff from the bod - and there wasn’t much to begin with, I tells’ya!

Sounds like a good week, mentally and physically.. fresh loose jeans, extra cardio, old school 21’s and mcguyvers, it doesn’t get any better than that..
June 29, 2008 at 11:10 am
That is a very good idea. Writing things down helps me prioritize a lot. But I have never thought about writing what was beyond my control and was was!! Very freaking awesome! Enjoy the Mcguyver while you can. If he is anything like me, after a while there will be stuff to do and I will just look at it for a while and then decide that I will do it later! LOL….I know….that is terrible. I get to it…..eventually! Being bribed with sex ALWAYS motivates me to do things
Just a heads up!

Good job on the exorcising and list making! I’m totally a list maker / journal writer. I may even be an exorciser, too. Maybe the next step is to combine the two at the same time! Run and write! But if I trip and get stabbed with a pen then I’m coming for you!
July 1, 2008 at 1:48 am
That’s awesome that you can separate issues like that. I am going to adopt that routine of categorizing things I cannot control from things I can control. Maybe that will keep me grounded.
I so know what you mean by exorcising. I have been wanting to do that all weekend, but my bike have a flat and I can’t find the pump! Now I am better now, and I have lost most of my vex energy…oh well, someone is sure to piss me off this week one way or another
Cheers Pixi
