My friends’ wedding was so much fun (especially when my CW meter went off when people complimented me on my arms)!! It’s always great to know both the bride and the groom, and they had the best idea of calling to the dance floor friends that are super good/professional dancers and "enthusiastic" dancers (i.e., can’t catch a beat, but are so fun loving that they work the crowd!), pair off, and have a dance off !! If ever I trick a guy to marrying me, I’m SO copying that idea! The bad side is, though, that after getting kinda sweaty dancing and having fun, I leave the reception and have to run to my car because it was raining!! So now I have a slight sore throat and that feeling that I’m fighting something… I ran 4 today, but it was quite the struggle. Boo!
So with that, I’ve decided to kick off C3 slightly mellow for the next week in order to avoid 1) getting sick and 2) getting injured before the family trip on Thursday. I’m thinking I’ll do bicep/chest/shoulders with light running (3-4) or biking Monday (tomorrow), run (4-6 miles)/bike/abs Tuesday, tricep/back/shoulders and biking Wednesday, and run (6-7)/legs/abs Thursday. I will most likely run here and there with my stepdad over the weekend, but am not planning on it since the guy will be around. I’m not including any of the mileage of the hikes because 1) it’s not really running and 2) I’m type A and like to compartmentalize mileage (how crazy can I get? So crazy that I know the mileage of each pair of running shoes).
When I get back Monday, I’ll probably follow a very similar plan as the first week, but increase running mileage and run a 8-9 on Saturday. I’ve already created all the lifting workouts on the workout tracker, and plan on logging my running/biking mileage and food on fitday.com. My calories will probably be up a bit since I’m downing orange juice until this stuff inside goes away, since I’m a true believer it helps in exorcising the sick demons.
I hope everyone had a great weekend and is keeping healthy!!

I did it! I clicked the pretty submit button and decided to join the C3 group! I revised some of my goals (mostly the running mileage after bouncing off the plan with some gym buddies), which can be found here. Main change is 80 miles in April, 100 in May and June to avoid re-injury. To be very honest, I’ve never been fond of the forum section because there’s a lot of fu.cktard haters in that section, but these guys seem super supportive and as the adage goes, "you’re only as good as the company you keep." So if Trixter (and GJ and Lisa are doing it, too!) are cool with them, then they gotta be cool peeps in turn. I think it starts Monday, can’t wait!
Not much has been happening lately, though I have a day off tomorrow, a wedding on Saturday (not mine ), and the family trip in Sedona coming up next weekend!! My family is fairly healthy and great hikes are in store (well, my bro eats burgers almost daily, but he’s such a stick… so unfair!), so I don’t think this will conflict with any C3 goals. I’m a little nervous because the guy is coming, so my parents, brother, and brother’s girlfriend are going to meet him - eeps! But, I think they’ll like him… he’s pretty likeable, funny, and considerate, so I don’t think there will be any friction. And if there is, then it’s to the curb!
Thank you SO incredibly much for believing in my goals in the previous entry… that definitely gave me the final push/motivation to go for it and now that it’s "published", no looking back now!! Me love y’all long time! lol

What happens when a brown chicken and a brown cow get together? Brown-chicken-brown-cow (said to the porno tune of the bow-chickie-bow-bow). My nephew told me that one over Easter… yeah, he’s 12. Hee, I’m so easily amused…
So what up, lovers! I had some runtastic runs over the weekend, yesterday off, and then couldn’t decide whether to do weights or cardio today, so I did both! I’m pretty sure I’ll give the C3 a try (typical indecisive Pisces), as it’s just in time for spring/summer and I really think it will keep me accountable if I start writing down both what I do AND eat. The concern is that my goals are rather different from most of the other peeps, though, because I really want to step up my running. So kinda brainstorming, this is what I want to accomplish in the 3 months:
1) Run 100 miles a month (currently averaging 60 miles a month, so perhaps I should do 80 the first month, and then 100 the subsequent months), as well as bike 100 miles a month (makes me run more efficiently when I do both). This will average out to 20-30 miles a week depending on if it’s a long run week, plus will give me a more solid base to consider a Fall marathon.
2) Keep Trixter’s previous tempo torture plan and his current plan and keep it on rotation since I definitely saw results with them (as well with Mike’s shoulder routine, and FireMedicMike’s tricep routine), and graduate to heavier weights (oh how I look longingly at those 25 db’s and think "one day, one day!"). If Trixter so happens to publish new plans, I will most likely plagiarize. I’m wondering if, weights-wise, I should have more specific benchmarks?
3) Do an unassisted pull-up. After reading that Maddi and GJ did them, I was instantaneously inspired!
4) Follow a 50% carb, 30% protein, 20% fat diet. If carbs go lower I don’t think I’ll run as well, but I’m still reading up on caloric intake. HUGE reason that’s blocking me from my weight goals. I guess it’s kinda paradoxical diet-wise that I want to gain and keep muscle upstairs, and increase my mileage downstairs, but I want it all goshdarnit!
5) Drop my weight to 115 (definite difference running-wise dropping even 5 pounds), but will be happy if I reduce to 12-13% bf more.
So, I think a couple of those could be tied in together and I’m pretty sure new ones could crop up, but that’s what I’m thinking thus far. Any comments or suggestions is most definitely appreciated on what can truly be done in 3 months! I figure since my goals are kinda different, I could also just kinda go ‘alongside’ the C3 peeps.
And last but not least - belated Happy Birthday, Nomadek!! Thanks for the hilarious laughs in your entries and comments (if you haven’t read his ‘bodybuilding goals’, do not pass go, do not collect $200, read it now!!). Much love, dude!

So I’m pet-sitting for my friend who is away on vacation. The doggy’s a chihuahua and it follows me around everywhere, as if he were saying, “Where you going now, your room, okay, me too… oh how about now, the kitchen, yeah me too…”
I SO feel like I’m the Trixters’ chihuahua - “Oh, what are you two doing, torture tempo? Okay yeah, me too… oh, oh, how about two now - 21’s? Okay, me too… oh, C3? Yeah, yeah, me too….”
So I’m not 100% sure about the C3 to be honest (see Trixter’s blog… it would be advantageous since it would hold me accountable to my goals (i.e., diet!), plus it’s manageable since I only have to wrap my head around 3 month increments. However, I still kinda find the whole thing intimidating… so we’ll see.
This heavy weights one day, cardio the next day has been working out great! I get to lift hard on alternate days, and then do mass cardio (lately it’s been 100 minutes total combining run and bike in each session) the next, and I’m not struggling with either or on any given day. However, the diet is still somewhat tricky, since I want to get lean, but then if I don’t get enough carbs in I don’t run well… so I still have a lot of figuring that out to do. I’m starting to work up to 8 miles running, though (usually biking is cool down for a half hour), so that’s been awesome!
Took some progress pics, per my pact with tickingheart (time to pony up your pics, PGP 2.0! ). Busy weekend since a whole lot of friends are in town for Easter, plus I have my own family stuff to go to. I hope everyone is having a fantabulous weekend, and I will catch up with you lovebugs soon!! xo

I have a confession to make… I’m a total one-upper. There was a commercial, I believe a beer one, that totally explained the one-upper - like a guy would say, "Hey, this guacamole is great!" and the one-upper goes, "Yeah, but it doesn’t beat the one I had in Cabo (or some other exotic place)." I’m SO like that at the gym… uh, as long as I could take them.
For the cardio part, I’m pretty okay, considering I’m still rehabbing from cardio-bunny-syndrome. I could easily stay on any machine for hours (evident on Tuesday, when I ran 7 on the treadmill and biked 11 on the bike (sorry VTD, it’s too dark outside still, so much so that when I leave the gym it’s still dark)). But with the weights, if I see some guy acting way too macho for the weights that he’s pushing, I love using them right after (or getting heavier ones), and doing the same exercise, both with better form and with more reps.
In my defense (hrm, why am I always saying that lol)… the mungo guy angered me today! I took out the 25’s and 27’s (all where they should be) to do pullovers, and a nanosecond after he places his 22.5’s in the spot I just took my weights out of!! WTF?!? So you see, after I huffily placed HIS misplaced weights to their appropriate spot, I just HAD to show him how I roll when it came to the tricep pushdowns… "Oh, you used 45? Well I’m gonna use 50’s… doing 21’s!! And I’m half your weight and a foot shorter than you… so nya!!"
So yeah… I have a problem. I mean, I’m a lover not a fighter and all, but sometimes, I go to my dark place… luckily, I’m not a guy. Standing at 5′3 (okay, okay, 5′2.5, lay off me!), I would SO have Napoleon Complex and, like, grabbing my nuts or spitting all the time or something! Definitely bad considering whenever I try to spit, I drool all over myself… so thank you God, for making me an innie!

So okay, maybe I’m a huge bb.com nerd, but catching up with everyone’s blogs has been like a part-time job with the hours I spend on this site (mostly at home, GJ, honest… well, okay, kind of honest! )!! I can’t help it… all of you are so lovable and I get some awesome tips, that it’s hard to not read what everyone’s up to! So please provide me your address so I can invoice accordingly. j/k
Weekend was a blast getting some awesome workouts in - ran/biked Friday, chest/bi/shoulder Saturday (I did all 4 21’s without stopping this time, and the last two sets were with 30’s! It helps to grunt) and played frisbee golf with friends (in my defense, that was super hard because it was really windy with the storm brewing), ran 6 and biked 10 Sunday with a core workout afterwards, and a rest day today. I might possibly go on a little run after work, but I’m not sure. The rest of the time was spent with friends, the guy, and getting scared over Saturday night’s storm (there was hail!). I also had an Edward Norton weekend watching "The Illusionist" and "Primal Fear" - both movies were awesome!
Happy St. Patrick’s Day, everyone! Gone are the days when I would celebrate my Irish heritage (well, okay, so I don’t have any Irish in me, but I dated Irish guys before, does that count??) with one of my faves, an Irish Car Bomb (insert drool here), but oh well… gotta focus on bikini season, goshdarnit!

Oh dear… I done did it now, my friends. As the guy initiated me into the Secret Society of Squats, I introduced him to Pixi Pooters. That’s right… I totally pulled a Mike on him. Not even once, mind you!! TWICE!
The tale starts after the barbell squats and Bulgarian split squats. I was actually riding high from the Bulgarian split squats, since I didn’t think I had the balance/coordination for such a thing. However, he had me use a 25 and I actually liked it! It was easier than I thought, and I really felt it in my quads and then booty. Then came the front squats. He was teaching me this so-called ‘ass to the grass’ technique and after a couple of them, I pootered!! At first, it was this awkward stunned silence, because we both heard it and both kind of in shock. But bless his heart, he ignored it and said, “Oh hey, I really like this song… uh, ready for the next set?”
Well… if it’s one secret I’ll divulge, is that if I laugh hard enough, that makes me pooter even more! So I’m prepping for the next set and I thought it was hilarious that he tried to play it off, and after the second rep, I started busting up and pootered again!! This time, my Feivel ears turn bright red and I’m busting up, as he is and was like, “Okay, I can’t ignore that one!"
So yeah, lesson learned - no cottage cheese and/or eggs as an afternoon snacky if I’m working out afterwards!!! It was embarrassing, but oh well, at least mine smell like roses.
The Trixter routine was awesome!! I can’t wait to try it with heavier weights since he said he took it easy on me since he wanted me to focus on form. As much as I appreciate that, I’m thinking I definitely didn’t work it hard enough considering I ran 6.5 miles and biked 8 miles this morning. Oh well - next time!
T.G.I.F., lovers!! Hope you’re weekend is a blast (and not THAT kind of blast!)!!

Everyone, sing along! She bought an itsy-bitsy-teenie-weenie hot-pink polkie-dot bikini. Actually, it’s not too itsy-bitsy since it’s for the April trip with the fam and all, but I also bought a couple other ‘fun’ ones (cheap! which is good since I always seem to lose them) and this in the event the guy and I meander to the hot tub. Not sure if we’ll be able to sneak around to do so (even though I’m "of age" I’m still respectful to my parents!), but I have no problems trying. Hopefully I’ll get the shipment in soon so it will give me further motivation to eat clean!
My run today pretty much bombed since I didn’t get enough sleep last night… I ran 4 in 36 minutes and it felt like an hour, and running through molasses!! But, it looks like I’ll be able to squeeze in another run later today to avenge… uh, myself. I’ll be doing some core work, too, and then tomorrow is - gasp - legs day! I’m definitely apprehensive about it since I don’t usually do squats, but I figure rally a friend to help me and I’ll be fine.
And I gotta admit, the theme lately has been ‘fake it to make it.’ I’ve been feeling all saggy diapers again lately about the littlest things (i.e., the run and getting disappointed), so I’m going with the ‘just fake smile and be cheerful around people and after awhile you’ll believe it yourself" thing and so far it’s working. I’ve gone down that path of depression before, and I don’t think it’s so much that lately as it is feeling sorry for myself. So I just gotta get over myself and suck it up.

So I tried bicep 21’s today and, okay, WTF Trixter?! FOUR sets of those, AFTER already doing the other stuff (especially the hammer curls)?! That should be… illegal!! Or something… I mean, sure, maybe I’m still being a ragehead, or perhaps it’s because of user error that I couldn’t complete the 4th set (I did 25’s the whole time and then I tried out 30’s and my arms gave out after the second 7’s! Nice), but I’m sure that it will be nationally prohibited in the near future.
The cool part was that I’m pretty sure I started seeing a vein pop out near my shoulder whenever I lifted! That, or my tapeworm was on the loose again… whatever it was, NEAT! So, I guess I’ll give Trixter some props with the workout (okay, okay, a lot! ). And a HUGE props to GeminiJedi for her video - such intensity!
Afterwards I drank a mini-protein shake and did an hour on the bike (it was either that or get to work early, so I chose the former). Tomorrow will be a run day and then core work… I’m kind of bummed that the time change started so early since I like to get my runs in around 5:30ish a.m., but hopefully it’ll get lighter soon. Have a great day, everyone!

I’ve noticed that I’ve been a bit short-tempered lately (and by a bit I mean a lot), so I think I’m going to cycle off the supps that I’ve been using. I’m not sure if that’s the cause, but the warning flags started when I was becoming a bit impatient at work/gym, then a first flare occurred when I made my roomie cry (I apologized) and the final one came last night when I lashed out at the guy and he totally called me out on it and said I’m becoming a raging b!tch. In all honesty - I think I’m pretty nice and friendly typically… however, I have noticed my bitterness and anger coming out moreso than usual so I’m gonna see if this was the culprit. Boo because I think I’ve had some good strength gains from it, but it’s not worth my relationships and friendships. People are more important in my book.
Kinda funny, though, I remembered one of my rages was at a commercial - it was some vitamin water type commercial that was like "why drink this 125-calorie water when you can drink this one - only 25 calories!" I was like "WTF?! The magical thing about water is that it’s calorically FREE, mother f’ers!! You’re misleading the people by saying it’s ONLY 25 calories because then they’ll justify that they can drink 3-4 in a day!" I feel a little silly getting my feathers all ruffled about that, but can laugh about it now… yeah… anger management time!
My arms are SUPER sore (mostly my delts, but I think it has to do with wrestling when I got pinned and sucker punched by one of my guy friends… I’m convinced I was a chody frat boy in my past life ). Yesterday I ran 6 miles and did "light" legs (not Trixter’s routine) since I’m going to run with a friend after work. Then tomorrow I start the routine with the infamous bicep 21’s - yay!
Hope everyone has a great Monday!
