Boo-ness! Apparently the Comments Monster gobbled up some comments of my beloved friends in my last entry… why I oughta… *shakes fist angrily* Addendum - found it!! They were in the waiting for approval section of the Manager thingy… random!
Hee… so my best friend and I decided to take a road trip to Vegas, Baby, Vegas, to drink ourselves to oblivion, gamble away our savings, and hire some hookers. Or… visit some friends who capitalized when the housing market was good and crash at their house to celebrate New Year’s there. I wanted to send my shout-outs to all the wonderful bb.com’ers I’ve met in 2007. I know it’s rather mushbally of me, but all of you really do mean a lot to me, and I want to thank you for coming into my life. Wet sloppy kisses to you! j/k
Gemini Jedi – The first person to truly welcome me into the bb.com world. Thanks for encouraging me to try out free weights, because I’m now hooked! Congrats on being Mrs. Trixter!
VT Dad – My kindred spirit in running and spiritual guardian. Thanks for always looking out for my best interest and feelings… you are truly irreplaceable.
Ilovecarbs – You have also been a motivating force when it comes to free weights… thank you! Your positive outlook with your training and life in general is inspiring and infectious.
Ninja Bill – My favorite muscle-swole, first place in the Bulldog competition, ex-San Diegan Gorilla – you make things utterly hilarious with this whole process. You rock the party that rocks the part-ay (what comes before part b…)
Bryan Gee – The epitome that is Hard Core Mutha and has now created a vast following of Hard Core Muthas around the world – thanks for not only caring about personal ish (or in non-pixi lingo, “issues”), but for being outspoken on issues that need to be spoken about! I still believe we were separated at birth…
Bull.dogz – Beautiful, sexy, intelligent, and my kind of humor… you’re the total package and I totally admire you for that! And any chick that laughs at “monkey tail” is the platinum package in my book!
Mmeyer41 – My delts and abs coach with the cutest infant and toddler on this site… thanks for all your knowledge and laughs… and I won’t forget, the right cheek next year is so yours! j/k
SpinCycler – Lover of cycling and running… how could I not love a chick with the same interests as me? Love your motivating messages and blogs, and I truly want to thank you for your advice, encouragement, and for just knowing exactly what I’m going through!
King Marmoset! – If you don’t make things intellectually interesting on this site, I don’t know who does! Thanks for planting the Pixi Fan Club seed in my head… now my ego’s all sorts of swole! j/k But honestly – thanks for the self-esteem boost. J
Nic Brunicardi – I still proudly call nutritional facts ‘declarations’ and I feel so much more wordly because of it! You not only have a great bod but a great personality - thanks for being a great friend!
Body Auditor – witty humor, stellar discipline and dedication, and so resourceful when it comes to bodybuilding history – it’s like you’re my Cliffs Notes of Bodybuilding and Starbucks!
Blsmith – so caring, empathetic, and supportive… thanks for being an ear to my drama! And you know I’m rooting for you in the transformation contest – go team Brian!
Sunnez – gone through so much and absolutely admire you for it… you are the meaning of tough and only getting tougher. I still can’t believe the dumbbell weights that you use – amazing!
Jwall1057 – sneaky little devil you! Thanks for always checking in and making sure I’m alive and well… mostly well. Much love, sexy fireman beast!
DaretoSoar – your story in the Transformation blog was so raw and candid… thanks for sharing that. It is no wonder that the site chose you as one of the candidates, and I have no doubt that you’ll succeed with the contest!
Just Dave – aka Bluto! I don’t care what you say, your running times are awesome! Best of luck with your four week plan – it’s hella awesome! Cali represent!
Nomadek – my Family Guy lovin’ partner in crime! Even though I’m still bustin’ my arse and he’s no longer tapping it, thanks for dedicating an entry to that! I felt all sorts of special (and not just short bus special in that case!)
FireMedicMike – a man way too hard on himself but whose drive will definitely take him to the uber-top! Thanks for all your kind words, advice, and support when it comes to stupid guy issues.
Maddi – the funniest, sexiest goddess on this site! The dirty perv in me constantly laugh at your innuendos and the femme-relatable chick in me admires your willingness to talk about your food issues. You are absolutely amazing!
Risat – I envy not only your inspiring pictures, but your running times, athletic ability, and focused determination and results! You are epitome of what I would like to achieve someday!
Vmvbwozniak– dude, I had to check your name 3 times for spelling! a man who definitely does not blog enough (hint, hint)), but is definitely nice and loving. Thanks for always looking out when I’m being all sorts of whineypants.
Pheidippides – somewhat newfound friend but who I’m of course taking to because I love the triathlete’s journey! Best of luck with your training and I’ll definitely keep you in mind if I sue the ex! j/k
ChiMike – I read “Tuesdays with Morrie” in one day and definitely have to thank you for that… hope you and your fam had a much needed restful holiday break!
Sspage06 – tallest hottie ever… always comforting to know that there’s someone else than me that would put gym time before going out and getting wasted!
And to those who I’m getting to know more and more everyday - much love to you! Hope you guys have a great New Year’s!! Let’s bring it on like Donkey Kong in ‘08!! xo

Gym was pretty empty today… managed to do tris/bis but felt super weak, though I got my second wind with a 3-mile run and 15 mile bike ride (about 65 minutes total). Apparently, my singledom is now widespread, since my gym buddy came up to me and said, "Pixi! I’ve been waiting for this moment…" He’s married, but he told me about three guys that have expressed interest in me when I was with D… unfortunately, none of them are my type (too much like brothers) and even if they were - I try not to sh!t where I eat. Plus, I’m not really ready.
When I am, though, I wrote him an email of what I do look for in a mate (I also forwarded it to other people in our circle since I’m dorky like that). This is, of course, for entertainment purposes only… though I suppose there’s truth in kidding.
Requirements:
1) Pen!s and pulse combo. No substitutions allowed.
2) Employment. I am not a sugar mama.
3) Important qualities that include, but are not limited to: intelligence, sense of humor (huge one!), compassion for others, ambition, hard worker, manners, sincerity.
4) Non-smoking and works out a few times a week. I firmly believe this is a lifestyle.
5) Buff bod. I’m not gonna lie… physical attraction is important and I love muscles!
6) Prioritizes friends and loved ones before money.
Negotiables:
1) Well-read. And not just the milk carton… I always find it attractive when guys read a bunch of reviews before they buy something, or are super knowledgeable on specific topics.
2) Outdoorsy - I don’t mind weathered skin, as long as you remember to put sunscreen! And chapstick! But I love the burly, lumberjack look. Men with calluses on their hands - yum!
3) Athletic - I love guys who are almost geeky when it comes to a particular sport they love (I’ve noticed I gravitate towards triathletes and bodybuilders). If they spend mass quantities of time training for something, I love that.
4) Not a big fan of video games and T.V. I admit, I watch T.V., but do so in moderation. As for video games, though, I’d prefer if they weren’t into it… I think they’re time wasters.
Bonus Points:
1) Bald and/or shaved head. You guys know I love this… but, if he has a full head of hair, that’s okay, too.
2) Gorilla Butt. I love me some bubble a$$!
3) Non-meterosexual. If you "have" to have the latest designer whatever or have "product" in your hair - move along! You absolutely cannot be prettier than me.
4) Rides motorcycles.
So uh… feel free to have someone like this under my nonexistent Christmas tree with a big red bow. Have a wonderful Christmas, everyone… Love your guts!

I figured I might as well follow my circle peeps’ trend of writing goals for the 2-double 0-8:
1) Eat clean (ha, a monthly goal). I would like to experiment with 2 cycles of that 12-month program on this site. I can do it… I will do it.
2) Complete a marathon and commiserate with VT Dad on the training. I’ve done at least 1 half-marathon every year, but it’s been almost 3 since I’ve done a full one. I figured I’ll do this when I’m “off-cycle” of goal #1 since I’ll need to somewhat go back to a runner’s diet (lots o’ carbs).
3) Absorb more information on bodybuilding and put it into practice. GeminiJedi and ilovecarbs encouraged me towards free weights and I loved it! Now it’s time to build on that and work up to serious weights, gain mad muscles like both of them (and many other inspirational chicks on this site!), and truly learn to love the body I’m in. And once my delts pop up, dedicate them to mmeyer41.
4) Meet up with my long-lost twin, BryanGee and have our wonder twin powers, activate! Or… if he ends up doing a meet and greet with other peeps, especially in Ninja Bill’s ‘hood, attend!
And CW moment in awhile: I went to the gym today and this other somewhat regular, surprised I was there so early on a weekend, said I’m always there…. then adds, "and it shows." Hydraulic head - vmph, vmph… poof! CW: complete!

Man, a pixi just can’t catch a break! To preface, my vision insurance only covers contacts or glasses each year, so I have these super old ghetto glasses that I use when putzing around the house. So because of my cry-fest yesterday, it was super hard to try and put my contacts in, so I decided to rock the glasses to the gym before work. I decide to do shoulders today before a run, and right as I’m doing a set of shoulder presses - thunk! My right lens falls out of the frames in front of everyone!! AWESOME.
I definitely have to laugh about it, though… after shoulders I ran for 3 miles and biked for 45 minutes. I hope to do a 7 miler tomorrow or Sunday, as well as arms and legs.
And I can’t say this enough - thank you all SO incredibly much for your continuing support and encouragement. I feel so incredibly fortunate to have you in my life… and I’ve even made some cool new friends! Y’all are the absolute best!! xo

Okay, I hate leaving that whiny sh!t up… I’m not gonna lie and say that the hurt/sadness is over, but I also know I’ll get through this and that for now, I just gotta suck it up (heh, that’s what she said). Thank you SO much for all the loving messages and PM’s, though - it’s helped a sista out.
My close gym buddy, always knowing that the best way to cheer me up is to make me laugh, wrote this: Do you want me to kick his ass? You know I could especially if he doesn’t expect it. I can go to his house with a Publisher Clearing House van and tell him that he won. Then when he is smiling into the camera asking what he won, I let him know that he won an ass beating from Pixi and proceed to ****EN BUST HIS STUPID ASS HEAD ON THE CONCRETE….AND THEN POOR GASOLINE ON HIM AND YELL BURN IN HELL FOR HURTING PIXI!.
He then agreed to meet me at the gym during his lunch break and he taught me how to use the squat rack and how to do a proper deadlift. I don’t know if it was all the emotions that were still stirring inside me or not eating that much before heading to the gym, but I kinda almost puked. Sticking with BryanGee’s Hard Core Mutha ™ Code, though, I properly gulped down the small amount of acidic regurgitation and did abs. If that’s not HCM, I don’t know what is.
I’ll get through this… and I’ll convert every ounce of negativity into positivity and make my body uber-rocking and strong. Then I will kick his arse. Heh.

I’ve been contemplating going back to eating meat again after 10 years of pescatarian-ness, and last night I chose to test it out by eating a small piece of chicken (I’m pretty sure I’ve said it before, but just in case - my body has stopped producing the amino acids or enzymes to break down meat and, consequentially, I get queasy even on chicken broth). Anyway, I’m unsure what death feels like, but I’m pretty sure it was comparable to what I felt last night - the worst stomach ache ever, fevers to chills and back again, worshipping the porcelain god, having to stay upright even though I was super sleepy, etc. Henceforth, I will not be partaking on any further carcass consumption anytime soon. Bummer because I’m getting sick of tuna and egg whites, but oh well, that’s life.
I tried to fish for sympathy this morning and lamented to my roomie about last night. She asked if I was still going to work then and I replied of course, I’m going to the gym right now even before I go to work. She gave me a quizzical "WTF?" look and I merely stated, "That’s how Hard Core Muthas roll."
Her response, "Whatever, dude."
Hit chest/back today and ran 1.5 miles before my stomach got the best of me, so I biked for 45 minutes. My goal is to do bis/tris/abs and a longer run tomorrow, and then shoulders/legs on Friday. Looks like I might head out to Tahoe this weekend despite the sis being there, but I’m still on the fence. We’ll see!

Que paso, mi corazons!! First off - congrats to Daretosoar and Maddi for being chosen for the Body Transformation Contest!! It’ll definitely be exciting to see how this pans out since y’all were my draft picks… hurray for you two *jumps up 360 degrees in air and strikes fist upward victoriously*
So AZ has been fun with the fam - I’ve only managed to get some runs in because my mom’s 3 pound weights just doesn’t cut the mustard, but it’s been some pretty glorious runs on the infamous canal. I hope to do one tomorrow morn, as well. I also got a chance to see my cousins, who have little chitlins ranging from 1.5 to 4 years old. They were SO incredibly cute, but after 5 hours I was definitely reminded why I take BC pills. Seriously, all the parents out there - MAD props to you!! I also received great gifts for Chrismakkah, which include but are not limited to: a nice haircut and highlights, a gift certificate to Victoria’s Secretions, another g.c. to iTunes, a new cell phone so I don’t have to lug around the one that people always make fun of me for since it looks pretty archaic (think first cell phone in the late 90’s…. yeah…), and jeans which make my arse look so good I’ve been molesting it all day! j/k
That’s pretty much it… I get to hang out with the nuclear fam for another day before heading back to SD, so until then - train hard and behave!

So there’s a few gym buddies that I’m super close with and we try to have breakfast every month or so. Today was December’s breakfast and since I had to come into work early, I had some eyeliner/mascara on, as well as some jeans and a fitted top. Since all they ever see me in are my workout clothes and no make-up, they were like, "Wow, you’re pretty!" and "Whoa, you have boobs!"
Uh… thanks… lol. I took it as a compliment, but man - do I look like that much of a wildabeest or something?!
So after we talked about family updates and the housing market, dieting and nutrition came into discussion (which by the way, all I ordered were egg beaters with veggies). One of the chicks said that she’s definitely trying to eat more protein and veggies (she’s pescatarian like me), but she’s always going to the bathroom more often. I responded, "Oh I know, I’m growing a monkey tail 2 to 3 times a day now!!" and after a brief silence (wait for it… wait for it…), she let out a girly "EEEWWWW, I was talking about going to pee all the time, pixi, what’s wrong with you!?"
Oh well… at least I got high fives from the guys. And in my defense, it was AFTER we ate and just drinking coffee!
I’m sure I’ll be trolling around the site, but if I don’t get a chance to write in AZ I hope you guys have a great weekend!! Don’t miss me j/k

So y’all brought up extremely interesting points, many thanks!! Anywhere from soreness to raging pain, not feeling productive if you didn’t have pain, running pain versus weight training pain, cyclical periods of training/pain, injury versus DOMS, etc. (heh, guess you could’ve just read them). All very amazing stuff, and all stuff I totally agree with (especially with SC’s comment, which is why I get so wishy-washy about what I want more, to fuel my desire for running or CW’ness ). Admittedly, I get a little proud if I’m hobbling around or feel super sore the next day (and okay, okay, I flex that part more to make it hurt more or see it flexed… I’m a sick puppy), but I do admit that sometimes I don’t get that sore, which makes me think I didn’t work that hard on it as I thought or I’ve become complacent.
Not today, though!! I did bis/tris and legs (since I won’t be able to do it tomorrow), and I made sure the last of each set was so hard that I felt the nerves and fibers rapidly fire and pulse once I was done. Tomorrow and/or Saturday I expect to be bed-ridden.
I’m pretty excited that monster week is almost over at work, and though there were some stress moments, the head honcho was happy and that makes me happy. After tomorrow, I get to fly over to Arizona to visit the family for Chrismukkah (my stepdad’s Jewish, mom Catholic, bro and girlfriend Born Agains, D’s atheist (though he’s not going), and I’m agnostic with Buddhist tendencies… we’re SO a bad joke waiting to happen).
Sounded like it was a rough week for others, as well… hope you got out of it with the least amount of battle scars as possible!
Unless you’re into that, you sick puppy, you.
