ahhhhhhhh. another week with no progress!! hehe, ok ok. i’m lying.
i’ve had no progress on the weight loss… but i have had great workouts and good strength gains for someone with a busted elbow.
last saturday i had an awesome leg workout that kept me hurting for days. squats, lunges, leg press, single leg hamstring curls, butt blaster [i don’t care what anyone says, i <3 the butt blaster!]. monday i did some shoulder/chest work, and wednesday i had a great back day. i was super focused and i feel it today.
i kept up with my cardio… i’m going to give spinning a shot after work with a friend. see what that’s all about. oh, and i took some no-xplode before cardio yesterday and it was awesome. i went for 45 minutes at a higher than normal intensity… i was drenched.
just some random thought: i want to work harder on my upper chest. i think i need to prioritize my chest over my shoulders from now on…
i had an MRI on my elbow this week… so within two weeks i should know what’s up.
diet wise, i’m being cleaner overall… but the weekends are tough. pizza *drools* ice cream. …. must stay away…
if anyone reads these… what do you think of beverly international supplements?

this week was not as good as last week eating/body fat wise. i ate an entire pint of ice cream on tuesday when i was home sick from work. eeeeek.
i am still keeping up with my elbow exercises and have started training. it’s hard to realize how far set back i am… how little weight i can push compared to before my injury. i’m used to training much heavier and much harder… i’m trying not to let that get in the way of my motivation… and just stay focused on getting back.
cardio is doing fine. moved up a level on the rotating stairs.
probably would help if i didn’t write these when i’m exhausted. i’m still a little sniffly nosed.
on another note… i’m going to go to school for this. exercise physiology. sooooon.
i added CLA to my supplements this week…. so over the next few weeks i’ll see how that does.
have a great weekend to whoever reads these things

so far so good this week. diet is on track and i weighed in at exactly 1 lb less than last friday morning. did cardio last night and this morning.
oh, and last night i did my first round of therapy exercises on my arm. i did wrist curls both ways, 1×15 w/3lb and 3×15x5lb. i’m afraid to use more weight at the moment because i don’t want to exacerbate the injury. anyway, it was fine going through the exercises slowly. this morning with lifting my coffee cup i can feel the area more, but it’s not very painful. this is good… i hope!

it seems that the holidays with my injury, along with quitting smoking have thrown my body into a whirlwind mess. my metabolism has slowed down tremendously - i think - or maybe the not training upper? who knows… all the factors, i guess.
anyway, i am fighting that discouraged feeling. i feel how soft i’m getting up top and ick. i went to the doc and am still supposed to rest, but am allowed to start some therapy type forearm exercises… if that doesn’t work then off to physical therapy i go.
my diet has been clean for the past two weeks and i’m maintaining about 1500 cal/day… up to 1800 on carb-up days.
this week so far has been:
Mon - Legs
Tues - AM & PM Cardio [30 min each session]
Wed - AM Cardio
I’ll do cardio tomorrow and friday, and probably saturday.
I want to add another leg day while I’m still resting upper, but it’ll have to be exercises that don’t use my arm [which excludes most of my favs - squats, dl, lunges].
i weighed in at 129.4 last friday morning [eek!!]
we’ll see if that’s dropped any by this friday [fingers crossed that i’ve done the math right]. the goal with my trainer is to pretend like i’m going to compete and make as much progress as possible - giving some latitude for my arm. while i’m still injured i’m going to focus on fat loss - getting down to about 120-123. …and then get back my upper body.
i will do this!

for the time being i’m going to be focused on cardio and legs. it seems as though lifting is making my elbow worse, so i’m going to rest my upper body for a while.
it’s been almost a full two weeks since i’ve done any upper body work and i don’t like it!!!
last nights workout was legs, mostly quads/glutes. a lot of one-legged exercises [presses, lunges, squats]. at first i was feeling completely unmotivated as it’s been an exhausting week, but after about 15 minutes i kicked into gear and felt better about it… and i feel it today.
i have to remember to ice my arm EVERY day. hehe… maybe i should put post-it notes all around my house to remind me. heheh.

so i guess i should finally start logging and tracking my progress, and hopefully this will be the beginning of it [if i can remember to keep up with this part]. by the end of the week i should have my new program together… at least the next 6 weeks. the goals so far are to work off this holiday weight (3-5lbs of fat) and get to 13-15% body fat… not sure which i prefer yet.
at the moment an obstacle is my arm. i seem to have tennis elbow and it’s not healing. i think i’m resting it, but am obviously doing something to aggravate it cuz it hasn’t gone away! it’s reaaaaaaaallly getting in the way of my workouts. gRRRR.
