First race, love trying something new!

October 10, 2009

I did my first organized race today. Here in Colorado Springs it was 20 degrees, with a light mist/snow sort of haze going on that led to lots of blackice on the course. I had a lot of fun and did better then I was expecting. Ended up finishing in 26:08. Not terrible, but also lots of room for improvement. Overall I think I was right in the middle. Think I came in at 40 out of 77. I was more focused on finishing and enjoying it then trying to kill myself. What is odd is I have been practicing for it for a couple weeks and on a treadmill I seem to average 10 minute miles. I figured running outside with inclines and the weather being what it was I would run slower, yet I ran 4 minutes faster overall. Was a good experience though and definitely something I would enjoy doing again.

Still strong

September 25, 2009

Since Sept 8th I have tracked daily activities and daily caloric intake. Doing great and making changes as I see necessary. Feeling a lot better and definitely noticing results from the nutrition on track and workouts going great. I update my thread daily and track everything in my notebook which helps me keep on track and accountable. Still need to make some changes in life but doing good overall.

September 14, 2009

Thank goodness too. I am doing great and at it with all my heart and mind. Follow my progress here and comments appreciated http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=118850741 . Cardiovascular performance improving greatly. Clothes fitting better. Scale is bringing up some friendlier numbers. I love living a healthy lifestyle, it is so much more rewarding than being a slave to food.

Times changing

September 2, 2009

Well, not so good update. After my last update, I let life get to me. I started working three jobs, averaging 15-17 hours a day of work pretty much every day. I ate terrible, pretty much anything you shouldnt eat, I was eating on the daily. I didnt work out for at least six months. Now I look and feel terrible again. Quite disappointed in myself after all the hard work I had put in and the progress I made. I went from 185 to 230. I am now back on track. Working out, eating clean, living healthy. Already feeling better and have an optimistic outlook for the future. I am really trying to condition so that also I can join the military in the near future. Hope everyone is well and staying healthy!

Constant improvement

January 16, 2009

Never stop changing, never stop progressing, never stop learning. We can always improve. I am still trying to improve all areas of my life. Not sure if I mentioned it but I finally purchase personal training which was a big step for me for multiple reasons. I am extremely happy with it and have not a single regret. I train with her two days a week, one day we mix it up and do everything from core, stability, power, plyometrics, etc, and the other day we do yoga. I have gotten back into pilates which helps a lot with core strength and stability. Yoga is noticeably increasing my flexibility while helping with other things such as breathing, core, relaxation, etc. Hopefully soon I will stop procrastinating and take a trainer cert course. I will also have a weigh in on monday the 19th and pics some point that week. My bday is on the 18th also, woot! Awesome girlfriend bought me a new set of running shoes which i was in dire need of. until next time!

I couldn’t believe it.

http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=4632991n

They take pride and enjoyment in ruining peoples bodies. It sickens me. The people who go in are just as bad. To each their own I guess. I just can not fathom a life to that degree. They are eating themselves to an early death. Hopefully a life changing event will get to them before the final sleep does. Thanks to the guy who posted this in the MISC to give me another view into how twisted some people really are.

Update for Dec

December 29, 2008

I slack at updating what can I say. I do tend to be busy and updating this is not first on my priority list. Been doing pretty good. Kind of getting sick of trying to switch body composition around. I am pretty happy with the muscle right now so I will focus in on cutting the fat. I have a bit to do so that will be no small task. After that we can build from there.

for my workout today I ran. now I have run before. usually for a mile, or a mile and a half when I felt crazy. I am getting sick of holding myself back. I hate running so when I do it I always talk bad about it, and pysch myself out of doing it, I listen to music that does not help, and I run staring at the clock waiting for it to hit a time I want. well tonight I went in with a great attitude, some good music and a plan. I covered up the numbers on the machine and just ran, and ran and ran. I ended up doing 5.55 miles in 55 minutes. Not too shabby considering I have never ran more than 1.5 miles consecutively. I know I could have done more too, however, I was beat (worked 12 hours today before hand, physical labor) and I have to do it again tomorrow. not knowing how my body will take that punishment and knowing I have to do it again tomorrow I decided to call it a bit early. I am not trying to hurt myself, just understanding that whatever the mind beleives the body will achieve.

almost turkey day update

November 21, 2008

Went to my PCP today to talk about my med levels and choices with them as I am not happy and have been quite down in mulitple ways recently. Got my BP checked, 108/64, and my HR was 60. definitely some low blood pressure which is something I really notice at times. oh well, rather that then hypertension that a lot of people have to deal with. also came in at 198 on the docs scale. usually his is around 4lbs ish more than mine. I think last time I was there I came in at 203 I want to say, so still progressing,  slow and steady wins the race!

keeping it going

November 10, 2008

been doing good. tracking everything on the intake since the 4th, making sure I under eat. I also removed the scale from my bathroom. I think between these two things keeping me super accountable I am going to see some big changes. I feel and look better. I seem to be tightening up a bit. I am thinking going through November in this way and then doing a weigh in come DEC to see how I did. getting my workouts back up and going too which makes me so much happier and feel so much better.
