I have been on a workout program for about 8 weeks now after taking about 2 1/2 years off of clean eating and lifting. I am following Tony Horton’s P90x program and loving it. I am in the home stretch which just happens to be the hardest part of the program.

I am a bit distraut because I have eaten lean and clean for these 8 weeks minus 3 not so lean meals through that whole time. I can see the muscle going on and I am stronger but I haven’t lost the lbs that I thought I would by now. I started out at 150 and I am currently at 147. So either I am replacing fat with muscle faster than I can drop the fat or I am just not sure what is going on. There is a definite change to my physique but previous times I have done programs I would have at least dropped 12-15lbs by now.

In addition I feel like crap all of the time. I have severe headaches and I am so exhausted at times that I can’t lift any weight or sustain my workouts. I think that I might not be getting enough calories, this is all I can think of. I have reviewed others’ diets and although I have followed them closely I do tend to miss meals, not on purpose I just get busy during the day at work and don’t have time. Am I over working? And is there something out there that I can take to help with sustaining the energy I need to get through my workouts. I don’t want to take a thermo, but is there some other booster that might help I can take before I leave work that will ready me by the time I get home to work out? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Had I known that my eye surgery was going to have such an impact I might have reconsidered my surgery until after my first round of P90x. For those of you looking to push yourself just a little more and really see what you are made of, try this routine, I garauntee it will kick your butt. I am on day 15 and looking forward to kicking it up a bit in the next few weeks. Big expectations this time, I am taking it where I have never gone before and I am more motivated than I have ever been. I have been sitting out for the past 4 days because I had lasik surgery and ran into some complications. Friday is an evaluation from there who knows where. Today is the first day back at lifting and boy have I missed it. Arms, shoulders and tris today and I feel like I could lift the house. This is the first program that I have done where I have gotten these kinds of results this fast. Not even with Billy Blanks…sorry big guy I have a new love in my life now. Show me the light Tony H.!

Bring IT!

Well I have made a few mental changes and revamped some goals. I have found a trainer and a health plan that I can live with. I am on a strict no sugar, no yeast, lean meats and veggi diet for this month. At the end of this month I will move to just a strict lean meats veggi and whole grain diet for the next 12 weeks. I am training for a fitness competition, not sure which one yet. I am testing out my me routine and trainer to see where I am comfortable. I have high hopes this time as I am more confident about my plan. I have changed my thinking as to my overall health and consider the things I eat as fuel and something I have to do not want to do. I want to be thin and flexible and agile and proud. I know that slipping in a piece of pizza 3 times a week won’t get me there. So I have joined the same band wagon as most who want to transform their bodies. A diet of lean meats and veggis for me.

Time to start over. I got derailed the past few months. Work is completely out of control and I can’t seem to find anytime to do anything else. 80hr work weeks are enough to throw anyone off target. GOD hates a quitter, so back at it I go. I have done this so many times before, but I am so infamous for falling off of the wagon so to speak, and when I fall off I tend to run myself over with it. I am such an extremist when it comes to making my mind up. All or nothing, no in between. This tends to overwhelm me, so for years I have been trying to find a middle ground. Unfortunately this happens with everything I do, so each thing I attempt gets run over with the other and in the end do I ever really get anything accomplished? No, but I keep trying.
