I must know my true body fat percentage.
Argh!!
Am I getting fatter or what??? I’ve been working out for 7 months. I see definite gains in the mirror. But I want to hit my goal of 11% BF by Jan 1 2008. Problem is according to my bathroom fat scale, I’ve made zero progress since Feb 2007? I am determined to find some hydrostatic weighing place within 100 miles of my place and find out for real what my body fat number is. I’m obsessed. How much I can bench, I really couldn’t care less. How fast I can run a mile, so what… But the body fat number, I must know it!!
I was content to say so long as i’m going down, who cares about the absolute number. But I’m not going down. Have I been spinning my wheels for 6 months? It’s just not possible. Maybe after my 9 week optimum anabolics program I’ll do some sort of radical cutting diet. I dunno… <sigh>…

I’m not so sure about some of those scales. Do you have calipers? I can see where you’ve made progress. That scale can’t be right. Good luck, you’re looking good.

Thanks, Alicia! I did buy myself some calipers a few weeks back when I started my new program. They got me more down that the darn scale. Said I was 26% BF. :-/
Whatever though… I’m happy with the visual progress, Just wish I could find some other "metric" to hang on to as I struggle some of those mornings to do my 6am workout.
Good to know your blood sugar is in the right range. That’s certainly more important than some dumb BF %.
Good luck on your goals!

First, it looks to me like your bf% is less in your most recent picture. Second, I have yet to find any method of measuring bf% with any accuracy. I have heard about them, but not seen they myself. I know how you feel. I don’t even measure any more as I find it depresses me if I thought I had gone down and I measure even higher then I was last time. Still it is hard to let go of wanting to know what that number really is. Keep doing what you are doing and if you want to, do a cut. 26%… I don’t think so my friend!

Dude, if you’re 26%, I must be like 85% or something. What method are you using to calculate body fat?
