I went to Yoga for the first time in months, and had a great experience. It was fantastic to work up a fantastic sweat and really stretch, breathe, and reconnect with myself. The best part about yoga, is that is individual. You do what is right for your body at the time. You can push yourself, but you respect your body’s limits, allowing the breath to move you deeper. I feel refreshed. I could get hooked (again)!

I started my new workout today with my old work out buddy. It felt awesome to actually do some different lifts and to hear encouraging words. And man am I sore already. Tomorrow is day 2, and i hope i can get my arms over my head. It looks like this is gonna work out. I’m pumped.

So, I have a bruised tailbone and some bruised ribs. Its made for a long week of advil and tylenol and icepacks. Who would have thought that softball was such a dangerous sport! My workouts have been non-existent for the week. I tried, but didn’t have the strength, range of motion, or energy. My goal is to get in there next week. I can finally sit down and lay down and move my arms normally. I can’t wait!

I’m finding it challenging to convince others of my fitness goals. I want the support of my friends and partner, so I’ve been telling them what I want to achieve and how I plan to get there. My partner is the least supportive. His general comment is that I’m young and skinny and don’t need to go to the gym. However, as many of you know, being skinny is not what we want! I’ve been skinny for way too long. I have colitis, so putting on any weight has been a challenge. Last year, I added about 12 pounds. Not too shabby! Long story short, when I’m lacking motivation or getting guilted into staying home, I’d like those around me to push me to go to the gym. I’m always encouraing my mates to get there. I’m tired of people saying–you don’t need to go to the gym!
This week, I’m fighting a cold. I can’t seem to get much of anything done. I guess I just have to take that cue from my body to lay low.
