Do you feel “not-so fresh”?
As athletes, we tend to put a heavy demand on our bodies.. Muscle fibers get torn to rebuild bigger, yet the main culprit is right under our noses, yes I’m referring to eating habits.. Some are better than others, bulking dirty was once the thing to do.. I was notorious for dirty bulking (ie, burgers and fries and Burger King combo meals), and now I’m more concious about my digestive tract..
With the constant influx of protein in liquid and solid form, I felt I should clear the way, help my organs detox from the constant supplements they have to filter.. So far, I’m in day 5 of my cleanse, and I feel abit different.. Not in a bad way, but I can tell my body is starting to clear out all the crap and free-radical leftovers.. The kit I’m using is simple:
8 fibercaps, 3 herbal laxative tabs (after day 7 I drop to 2 tabs), 1 milk thistle/artichoke cap (going to 3 caps after day 7)..
My reasoning behind my need to cleanse and why I advocate it to many more of my Iron Brothers/Sisters, three things come to mind:
1. Cleansing of the digestive tract helps with increased absorbtion of foods, and supplements.. The probiotics in your gut will thank you for helping them..
2. Increased bile flow means the liver is moving wastes out faster.. Ever think abou ttaking Superdrol, and wondering "Is this stuff just hanging around in there?".. Get the bile moving, keep the liver happy
3. High protein intake can plug you up like a public toilet at a chili tasting.. Most cleansing products don’t use harsh herbal laxatives, so running to the can every 5 minutes isn’t gonna happen..
Now if you combine all 3, you got a supplement that clears the colon, helps the liver pass wastes out thru bile, and binds the bile and other toxins so they can be passed in feces.. Pretty, huh?
Go ahead and try it, every 3-4 months you can rightfully consider yourself a "clean" athlete, even if you already are..
