I’m not a Quitter
Tuesday, July 29th, 2008…i’m a re-starter. lol, i bet that would never get pass anyone in scrabble.
at any rate, i am injured again. i just moved back to florida a month ago, found a great, kick ass trainer 2 weeks ago (i heart her even though she makes me sweat) and started working out again. somehow i am better with a trainer than on my own…though i’d love to save the $$ and buy myself something pretty, i am still lacking in that area somehow.
i joined this boot camp with some friends….which the trainer warned me about becuase of my injuries, but i told the guy what they were and he said we’d modify a few things and i would be fine. weeelllll, the 1st day in, he tells us to run stairs…and i told him ummm, i can’t run stairs. i can’t do the stairmaster and i was just cleared in may or so to do pilates and lunges. you’ll be fine, he tells me…go at your own pace, but it will help strengthen your knee. are you sure? i asked him….and he said yes, so i did it (against my better judgment). then my knees were both creaking like crazy, so i iced, rested, etc. that was the beginning of the end.
my knee popped and totally gave out toward the end of last week. this is similar to what happened to it before, but that time it was the size of a basketball and i could not walk. i have a doctor’s appointment for xrays, but now this has thrown off my whole plan.
i’ll talk to my trainer about it when she gets back this week. i guess i can still work upper body, but no legs (maybe one but would that be odd). also, what about cardio? i have years of fad dieting under my belt so diet only sheds 8-10 lbs for me and then it’s over. my metabolism is out of whack.
my questions are (which i will talk to her about later)…. can i shed body fat and flab without cardio? i know i will get lots of hell yeah’s, but i need some details (which i’m googling and searching this site for right now).
