Getting me back in shape
I had dental surgery last week, had two wisdom teeth pulled on tuesday. I did a one hour CORE class the morning before the surgery thinking I had better get some gym time in because I wouldn’t be going on tuesday. Well I was right about that, I sure didn’t go on tuesday, or wednesday, or thursday, friday or saturday. I really didn’t expect to be set back by the surgery so much. What could having 3 useless teeth pulled possibly do to impact my workout schedule.
Wednesday I was actually feeling "ok", not well enough for the gym, and I had been instructed to keep to calm activities for the day to keep the blood pressure low and control the bleeding. Thursday I was actually feeling pretty well, and could have maybe did a light workout except for one thing……I couldn’t eat anything. I was living on protein shakes and yogurt, no fuel for the machine means the machine don’t work so well. So I ended up with nearly a week off from the gym.
To make up for missing my session with the trainer on saturday, I have two sessions with her this week. 1st one was tuesday, at which she informed me that we were going to "get me back up to snuff". Funny thing is, I thought I was snuffed enough. Again, I was wrong. We did an upper body 1.5 rep workout. I can still feel it in my chest, and I have to say, I have never reached failure so often. I was doing 3 sets of 12 and on every excercise I couldn’t finish the last set, I would start struggling at 8, regain my focus and push out 3 more, and then fail on the 12th.
My kickboxing class started up again this week, EGADS. It has been revamped a bit and is definitely up a notch. I am feeling my workouts this week, I guess I really wasn’t "up to snuff".

Its no fun been told you can’t work out. It seems to make you want to more! Sounds like you made up for the time missed tho!
