Well today’s workout wasn’t bad. It was just a scheduled day of cardio and abs only. I did 45 mins of cardio and 15 mins of abs. I was pretty pleased with that, I burned a decent 500 calories in the 45 mins.
But then……I got some really bad news about the death of a friend and have since eaten a scoop of ice cream and now some fudge…..UGH I am on a sugar high and I feel sick!!!!!!!
This is why I don’t cheat, its not worth feeling sick over…..

Today was an average day at the gym. I didnt’ really make great strides, I did however try a few new shoulder and back exercises.
My high for the day came when I walked into the gym, the gym owner came up to me and told me she had been meaning to tell me how great I was looking and over the past month she noticed I have really been developing a good shape and toning right up. That was the best compliment I’ve recieved to date

I had a really good jog today, I managed to jog for 20 mins with only two, one minute recovery times, and a one minute warm up. Which for me means, a good 17 min run total. That is a personal best!
I just squats till I thought my legs would turn to rubber. Kickboxing starts again on tuesday, after a 3 week hiatus so I have to get my legs back into condition for it.

I had a great workout today! I did a cardio/weight interval training routine. It is one of my favourite things to do because I can push myself farther than I can with any other routine. I did 5 mins intense cardio, immediately followed by whatever resistance/weight. My focus was on legs today and I did some good work on the bosu. I am really enjoying the bosu, I love the challenge of trying to maintain my balance.

AAArrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhh
I have major pms today. I am so discouraged, I haven’t lost a thing in two weeks. This is one of those weeks that it just feels like it is all for nothing. It "feels" like I haven’t made any progress. This is just one of those weeks that I want to give up.
I know it is the pms, I go through this every month because with pms I always bloat and gain a pound or two. I keep telling myself this will pass, and my boyfriend keeps reminding me of all the gains I’ve made over the past year and half, as opposed to the small set back i’ve seen the past few weeks.
I ran on the treadmill for 30 mins today, which normally I would consider a pretty good run, but today I just feel discouraged and I don’t feel like I did enough. After the treadmill run I did another 30 mins on the bike. I hate the bike, but my trainer wanted me to try an uphill routine on it, just to break up the cardio a bit I think. I still hate the bike, but I did the 30 mins.
I am taking the day off from weight training because I’ve only taken two days break out of the past 10 days and I know that could be adding to my feelings of frustration.
Hopefully after a day off from the weights I will have a better outlook tomorrow.

Well it is official, I am allergic to soy. A few weeks back I switched from Whey Protien to soy. At the same my "women’s monthly bill" arrived, so I really didn’t think anything of the cramps I got. The problem is, they stayed. About a week later I paid a visit to the Bulk food store and bought some soy nuts for a snack. Within two days I was ill……bloated, cramps…….just not good. I was so bloated I gained an inch around my waist. That was when I made the connection and tried totally going off soy. I started feelling better almost immediately. Last night I tested the theory by having a handful of the soy nuts and whoa…….not a good thing. So I guess it is back to whey for me.

I think I have finally gotten myself out of the Plateau blues. For the past week or so my gains have completely stablilized and my weight had been fluctuating in the upward trend and I gained almost an inch in my waistline….without cheating….. it was sooooo frustrating but I changed my cardio in a big way this week and I’ve lost nearly 2 lbs and my waist is back to normal. I don’t know whether the waist thing was water retention, bloat or just a fluke, but its good to be back to normal. Maybe its the Xendadrine or the increased cardio intensity but whatever it takes, I am glad to be back on track.

I was very sluggish at work today, just not feeling myself. I work in a pharmacy with a large natural health section so I check out the supplements and decided to give xenadrine 8 hr a try. I have to say it did perk me up.
I made a bit of a bit in my cardio workout today. I ran harder and for longer than I ever have. It was .3 speed increase and a 5 min run increase, but still….every little bit counts right?
I worked out legs, doing 130lbs for 4×20 reps on the press, 60 lbs hack squats, 12lb body bar walking lunges, and 2 minutes continuous stationary squats with a 12 lb body bar. 10 chin ups for back, seated rows 35 lbs 3×12 reps, reverse flies at 40 lbs 3×15 reps. And of course finish with abs dead bug on the bosu and push ups off the bosu to help with the core workout.
Over all it was a successful workout, tomorrow I go for the fat scale in the morning.

This is my first post, so I guess I’ll start with the basics.
I’ve been working out for 13 months now. My initial goal was weight loss, and I have lost just over 30lbs to date. I take a high intensity class twice a week which combines, kickboxing, fitness boxing and cardio drills. I also work with a personal trainer once a week, and do two other days of resistance training and one day of 1 hr cardio endurance training.
When I first started at the gym, my goal was weight loss. I’ve since become totally addicted to working out. It is a part of my daily routine, no different than going to work. My goals have changed as I’ve evolved at the gym. My goal is now to live a healthier lifestyle overall. I am learning about nutrition and working with my trainer to develop a workable diet and excercise plan for me.
I will have to update my stats next week, as I just did a measure with the trainer on wednesday, but i can’t remember the exact stats and she is out of town on certification training until next week.
