need pullups

i have to install a pullup and dip bar into my house somehow - it’s my next project.

why? can’t do more than 3 pullups, can’t do ONE dip.
how to get good at them? do them.

i’d convinced myself that if i could do bench dips with 50 kilos on me that i’d be able to do one proper body weight dip….and i can’t.  TIME TO SHINE.

finally bought a modicum of control into my diet

via an iphone app called ‘muscle gainer’
which is awesome.

basically you enter your weight, height, training frequency, etc and it calculates your protein and bulking calories.  
it follows the old 1 gram / pound of bodyweight thing…which i agree with.  one thing that pisses me off though is that it doesn’t track carbs…yet tracks fats, with the assumption being ‘eat under x% of fats and you’ll stay lean’ which i think is complete bull****.

but i don’t really mind, protein is what’s important.  i’ve been using it for two days and it’s great.  i entered in exact nutritional makeups for the foods i eat the most (my milk, my whey, my bread etc) and for the rest there’s a huge database with prettymuch every food out (kinda like a mobile fitday).  so yep - awesome.  today i’ve eaten 65% of my protein requirements.  groovy.

cleaning up my diet pt. 2

so lately i’ve been slack.  missing workouts or not going hard out is not an issue for me, i’d rather punch myself in the face than miss a workout.

but…..social stuff has been catching up on me and my diet has been slowly slipping.  not to CRAP…but to mediocre. too much sugar, not enough protein.  allowing myself to be pulled away from my current life purpose which is GETTIN SWOLE.

SO.  just went to the groceries.  STOCKED UP
- lean chicken
- ground beef
- vegetables
- oatmeal

good, clean, solid foods, the type that muscle is made of.  i’m also starting back up my calorie counting because i can’t go to sleep happy unless i’ve fulfilled all my nutritional needs.  i almost wish there was a little calculator that popped up on the lens of my eye and told me how many calories i’d consumed and all my ratios in real time.

but yeah, getting an app for my iphone to take care of it.  it’s a convenience thing.

it’s taken a while to admit my current routine has staled out.
and i only have three more months of bulk so RIPPETOES IS COMING.

any troo lifters will be happy to hear that this means SQUATS.  i’ve only started training by calves recently (because they’re so pathetically small) but all this year i haven’t trained LEGS properly.  no squatting.  i think my trump card of untrained quads and hammies will be the thing that bangs me up to 80 kilos by september.  then cut time.  

as a side tangent, there is really nothing worse than chicken legs.  when i went to the gym the other day i saw this guy with an AWESOME, MASSIVE upper body and these…pathetic, pansy ass white computer programmer legs and chicken calves and i was just like ‘…..****.  DO NOT WANT’

so yeah, i’ve rationalised away no squatting but the time has really come.  i’m either going to procure a squat rack or BUILD MY OWN out of metal and brawn.  (Y)  RIPPETOES STARTS NAO.

went to a GYM GYM the other day // updates

so i went with my friend to his gym the other day.
it just compounded into my mind why i shouldn’t go to the gym.  at least with this guy.  first of all, he does like 5 different muscles a day, choosing what he’s going to do seemingly at random.  (he wants to be a professional wrestler).  he does these weirdass SUPER SUPER HIGH HIGH volume workouts he’s gotten out of flex or some shit (e.g. 25 sets of rope pushdown variants for triceps.  and that’s it.)  

MACHINES ARE A WASTE OF TIME.  obviously, that’s a sweeping statement, but i went there and saw all these noobs using 100 different machines and no free weights and thought ‘**** this….i’m better off at home’

stuff has been going well though.  DIET is the biggest thing on my mind at the moment.  ruthless diet.  RUTHLESS.
more chicken and rice ALL THE TIME.  less sugar.
