Animal Cuts + NO Xplode = GOOD OR BAD?

November 16, 2009

Would love your opinions if this is a good combo or not.  Planning to start tomorrow!  Both have caffeine in them.  As far as the NOX, I plan to take 1 scoop per the gym and no more than that if that helps with the replies.

Thanks!

Starting Animal Pak tomorrow - any advice?

November 16, 2009

Starting to take Animal Pak tomorrow and will stack with creatine & NO Xplode and of course whey and casein protein.

I eat 6x a day and heard that this makes you not hungry.  I plan to still eat 6x but maybe smaller meals…I also rink about 2 gallons of water a day.

I lift 3x a week and do cardio 5-6x a week so along with a clean diet hoping to see some nice results.

ANYONE HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR ME AS I START THIS NEW SUPPLEMENT?

Started New Workout Today!

November 16, 2009

Today I started a new 5 wk workout that I developed and so far it’s a success.  Got a great pump and felt strong in the gym, love trying new stuff out so that’s a bonus as well.  Between each muscle group I work I hit some abs to mix it up and challenge myself.  Really need to tone the abs so I think this along with cardio after my workout and eating clean will get me where I need to be.

Interesting to maybe only myself, today was my all time record for reps in a workout!  Thank you BodySpace graphing tools!

After my workout did 15 mins in fat burning HR zone on eliptical cross trainer workout and then 10 mins of HIIT on the eliptical.  25 mins total and off to the sauna later tonite.

Can’t wait for day 2 tomorrow…

Want Opinions on Group X Classes @ 24 hour

November 14, 2009

So to supplement some of the cardio I’m doing I am looking at some Group X classes at 24 hour.  Basically want toning classes to go along with all my weight training and running.  Want challenging fun classes that are boring or a waste of my time.  Would love if anyone has any critiques or recommendations…the classes i’m VERY interested in right now are:

NIKE Training Club
24LIFT
24S.E.T.
Boot Camp
Everlast Shadow Box

Appreciate all the replies that you provide!

LA Boxing - 1st Experience

November 6, 2009

So today the Army crew went to LA Boxing for some cross training.  It was intense and MMA focused.  The recruiting station commander is a pro MMA fighter and he put us through our paces.  We split into two groups and then went through the workouts.

I started in the boxing group and did a ton of bag work and pushups and burpees.  Burpees suck!  When I was done I felt like my arms were about to fall off.  After everything we did non stop squats, it was 30 minutes hell.

After that our group moved to the ring for our MMA work.  We started with sprawls and arm bar submissions out of the full guard.  I am a big MMA fan but have never ever done this **** before…I felt like a virgin.  Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a science and the pros make it look soooo easy but it’s not, but over time I guess it become second nature.  After we got our quick indoctrination we started grappling.  Grappling is intense full body cardio that will rock your world!

I grappled with two dudes, the first was a battle and he has experience with BJJ.  After we battled for about 5 minutes he caught me in a choke and I had to tap out.  Damn!  So then the next dude was 25 lbs heavier than me so I was more motivated.  I caught him after about 3 minutes in a rear naked choke, locked it in deep with my hooks in and he tapped fast.  Felt great.  I got submitted and I got my first submission.  Fun times.

After the MMA portion we were all dripping from sweat and then headed to the mats for a 10 minute ab workout.  Man, killer.  It was one exercise after another into another with no rest.  Loved it, I just wish Eye of the Tiger or Welcome to the Jungle woulda been playing in the background!

So after the workout they asked if I wanted to join, I said I’m broke cause I’m unemployed.  With us being military they cut us a deal that I couldn’t pass up.  It was filty cheap and let’s just say…I signed up!  I now belong to 24 hr and LA Boxing and also go to LA Fitness with the Army crew.

I’m very pumped to be adding this type of training to my resume and think that my fitness levels will continue to shoot through the roof.  With the proper diet, which I have, and discipline I’m going to get leaner and leaner!  BRING IT!

Started taking supplements again…

November 4, 2009

So I decided it was time to start taking some supplements again since I’m getting my body weight down pretty low and now feel like I’m fine tuning more than losing.  I still have some fat to lose but not so much that that is my #1 focus.

I’m taking the standard Creatine and Whey Protein along with Beta Alanine, BCAA’s and Glutamine.  Taking a thermogenic fat burner call Arson as well.  My friend gave me some Casein Protein that I just started taking as well, along with some NOXplode which I haven’t taken yet.

Here’s how I’m taking the supplements.

Pre Workout -
Arson, Creatine & Beta Alanine

Post Workout -
Whey, BCAA’s & Glutamine

Pre Bed -
Casein

Hoping to see some fat burn off while I get leaner & stronger.

Good luck to all!
Steve

Success Story

October 31, 2009

The Army is going to feature my weight loss story in an upcoming issue of their nationwide recruiting magazine now that I have been accepted into the OCS program!  Very excited about this.

I also submitted my story and pictures to Men’s Fitness magazine and hopefully will make it into that magazine as well.  I’ve always had that goal.

I’d love to make the bb.com transformation story but I’m not to that level…maybe someday!

Just so happy my hard work has been paying off and that people are taking notice…I’m far from done but I’m getting there!

Highly motivated,
Steve

Army Officer Candidate School - ACCEPTED!

October 31, 2009

Since my last post I’ve received some great news…my hard work has paid off and I was accepted for the Army OCS program!  It’s a hard program to get into and was a long journey as I had a LOT of weight to lose…the pictures prove it and I’m so very happy.  My class date isn’t until July 5th but that gives me plenty of time to get into the best shape possible.

Right now my main concern is the distance running.  I have the PU & SU and 2 mile run time down cold.  I just need to work on my 4-5 mile run times.  I’m working on adding some lean muscle but not a lot of mass since as an Officer you do a lot of running in school and I need to not bulk up too much.

I’m just so pleased that my career is now set and that I have seen the fruition of all my hard work!
