Why can’t everyone just support me?

It annoy’s the hell out of me that the people that should support you the most, family and friends can’t always be there for you.

I decided a while ago that to reach my goals and for health reasons, I need to make some changes to my life style.  Over the past couple of month I’ve suffered 3 severe cases of gout.  Due to this and the fact I want a six pack you wear not the one you drink by November 1st this year I haven’t had a beer for almost a month now.

I don’t want people to think I’m an alcoholic but I do really enjoy having a beer, but I want a 6 pack more than I want a beer.

The frustrating thing is that I wish people would congratulate me instead of constantly asking when I’m having a beer again, or saying I foolish for doing this and that my life is going to be boring without drinking.

If only they knew how good it is to get out and train with the sun coming up.

That enough for this rant

I dont drink either and it shows how far we have sunk as cultures when alcohol is seen as the pinnacle of socialisation.
My advice is just get the 6 pack , and flaunt it!
Remind them BEER DOES NOT BUILD BETTER BODIES - STEEL DOES!
Good luck - now go nail the 6 pack

Human’s don’t like to face change. When they see you change it pushes them out of their comfort zone. Just keep pushing on and doing what you need to do. In my experience they will either be quiet or join your efforts. Just be patient and have faith.

Hey! there’s nothing wrong with giving up the booze for a while to reach your goals. Especially when you have chicks hanging off you when you get ur 6 pack - they’ll be jealous then. But seriously, its called sacrifice and if it was easy everyone would do it. Take it in your stride, babe - you’ll be fine. It’ll wear off after a while. It did for me…… keep it up - 3 cases of gout - that’s serious stuff!

    Hi Paul,

I know what you mean! I don’t have a problem with beer but with sweets and cake. I have to lose some weight because of health reasons now but you won’t believe how many people around me just ignore that. I have Philipino friends that love to cook and I basicly can’t leave there house with out haven all there Carb fill food and cakes!
People don’t like to see you look better. People are jealous!
