June 30, 2009
I will be travelling outside the country this week. This is so sudden as this was supposed to be my “catching up” week. This means two things, 1) I won’t be able to post my weight on a daily bases as I do now (unless I found a computer) and 2) I won’t be able to achieve this week’s target.
I will be back on Sunday, so take care everyone.

First is First, The summary.
I lost 1KG (2.2 pounds) during this week. Despite been very low compared to my weekly loss average of 2k (4.4 pounds), it is quite good considering that I was able to only do two cardio sessions and attended six weddings last week.
Surviving weddings.
I used few good techniques to survive the weddings that took place last week. First, I love photography so I used that as an excuse to occupy myself in taking photos during the wedding. It helped with the calories since I had to move around a lot. It also helped me in skipping most of the dinner since I’m busy taking photos of people. Arriving to the dinner table late meant that only the bad stuff was left (yes, you guessed it, vegetables and salads). I always asked for diet coke and water and never drank anything else. For Desert I only choose fresh fruits and fruit salads. Having said that, I also enjoyed eating the regular wedding meals, I only concentrated on the Grilled stuff and avoided the things that are fried.
This week’s achievements
Well, I was supposed to reach 88.7kg (195.5 pounds) which would of meant a 22 pound loss in one month and one week. However, I missed that target by only achieving 88.8KG (195.8 pounds). But that doesn’t matter since surviving weddings was considered as my biggest achievement for this week.
Coming up next week.
Next week will include 6 days of 30 minute cardio session and a strict diet plan. This is to catch up to my original target and to jump to the second phase. I will try to reach 85.7 kg (188.9 pounds). I have 10% chance of doing so, but If I reached anywhere below the 190pounds then I will be a happy man.
So until next week, How about we have a race ?? Let’s see if you would lose more weight than me during next week! Have a nice time everyone, and good luck! ;)

Oops, I missed my weekly summary day (every Sunday)!
The summary please ?
I lost 2.4 kg (5.29 pounds) this week, averaging around .34kg (.75 pounds) per day. But, Nothing is what it seems (more about that later). I did cardio for 3 days this week which is also below average ( I know, I started slacking off). So despite the loss, I would say that it is an average week. Overall, I’m little bit behind my original schedule and I need to work for an extra week to meet it.
What is the story behind the 2lb drop in the first two days?
Well, if you read my previous weekly summary you will notice that I gained 1kg (2.2 pounds) in two days. That was the result of attending two consecutive weddings. Most of it was basically water which I lost during the next two days.
What about the 2lb drop in the fifth day?
I lost 2lbs in Thursday as a result of dehydration. I didn’t drink the regular amount of water that day. I also slept in hot weather for about 8 hours. I gained most of it back the day after which confirms my theory.
This week’s achievements!
First, I’m no longer a member the 200+ pounds club! Which is one of my biggest mile stones. Now I feel closer than ever to achieve my goal.
Second, I’m no longer a member of the 90+ Kg club! Which is also one of my biggest mile stones. THis also means that I’m almost half the way through.
next week.
Next week is going to be a slow week. It is full of wedding parties and so there is lots of preparations, bad food, and lack of training. I hope that I can lost .1kg (2 lbs) per day in this week. If I did then I will be a happy man. But I’m trying to come up with a strategy to get through the week with as much loss as possible and estimating a 1.9KG change (4.2 lbs). let’s hope that it works. J
I have the following goals that I wish to achieve next week.
1) Surviving weddings!
2) Crossing the midpoint of my current goal. My weight should be below 88.7kg (195.5 pounds). That would mean that I lost 10 full Kgs (22 pounds) in one month and a week.
Thank you for reading. I wish you all good diet, productive training and great results !

Good Morning, afternoon, or Evening “Depends on what part of the world you live in ”
Ok, So let’s start by the empty half..
I only lost .1kg (.2lbs) during this week. This is the lowest amount of fat loss in four weeks. Frankly I could of lost this amount by not drinking a can of cola (actually two cans). I got the worst diet in the world and I should be thrown in the Indian ocean!
Ok, How about we start talking about the full half?
-.2lb is a still a weight loss and It’s a good thing that I didn’t actually gain weight during this week. I only have to work little harder to make up for it in order to meet my initial target. So I should keep myself calm and concentrate on the future since I cannot change the past.
What went wrong?
Despite only doing 3 out of 5 planned weekly cardio sessions, Things went good for most part of the week. I actually lost 1.1Kg(2.2lb), which is still below the average but considered a good thing. The problem accord when I attended two consecutive weddings on Friday and Saturday. This resulted in gaining 2 extra pounds.
So how will I solve this issue?
This is not as bad as it seems because I’m sure I didn’t eat 3500 calories per wedding. The wedding food is usually salty and I often drink lots of water afterwards. Judging from how much water I drank, it amounts to at least half of the gained weight (I drank like a horse!). This means that I will lose half of what I gained by not doing anything at all! It will most likely be lost when I restore my normal daily water intake.
The other half is however problematic. I Hope that I can distribute it across the next four weeks which amounts .25lb (875 calories) per week. To help in achieving this, I will be adding an extra cardio session to my weekly schedule.
How to prevent it from happening again?
Now that I don’t really have the answer for… the wedding season have started in my country. I looked at my calendar and it appears that I must attend at least eight weddings in the next four weeks (must means either relatives or close friends). In a country where attending the wedding without eating is considered as an insult, I wouldn’t even think about skipping dinner. Setting on the table, it is hard to resist the temptation. So I need to think of a strategy to “survive wedding parties”. You have an idea that you care to share? Please add it as a comment here and I will be grateful.

Hi Guys,
I had this space since 2006. But I rejoined the fight to lose weight on May 17, 2009. Therefore, I’m deleting all progress records that were placed before that date.
You may also notice that I’m not updating anything else other that my weight. That is due to the fact that losing weight is my current only target and I’m not trying to distract myself with anything else. I will start entering all other details when I go back to the gym which hopefully will take place on July 24, 2009.

Yesterday I received a contract termination letter from my current employer. To tell you the truth, I was expecting it as many special contract employees are facing the same issue. Actually, I’m glad and thankful that I made it this far. This is the price you pay for choosing risky jobs, I guess. But it is not all bad since I have my own private business. Yes, it does not add much but it will provide basic food and shelter for a family of three.
I don’t know if it is the economic downturn or simply because something bad always happens whenever I try to lose weight. But I hope that this does not affect my motivation as the past issues did. I didn’t work out yesterday and ate more than usual, so this may be a bad sign.
I have six months notice period and I will stop working on December the 20th(good thing I forced that in the contract!). So I need to resort some of my priorities and they are now as per the following:
1- I have to keep this secret from the team, especially the ones that are working under me. I have been through this and I know how devastating this may be on their performance. We have some important projects and I don’t want them to lose focus. Therefore they should not notice any change.
2- I have to push towards the completion the three major projects that we are working on. All projects are expected to be finish by November. They will most probably organize a party to celebrate so I’m planning to look my best by then. I also plan to tell them the day after that party so I don’t spoil the whole thing.
3- Telling my family will be the hard part. But I guess they are used to it since We’ve been through worse. But we have to cancel things like the vacation, purchasing a second car, new computer …etc.
4- I should start looking for another job within next month. Therefore, I’m expecting interviews to take place on August. So, my target weight loss plan is not going to change. After all, appearance is very important in any job interview.
Whatever happens, losing a job is not the end of the world. It is just the beginning of a new journey. I always thank god for whatever happens to me and today will not be an exception.

Back in 2007, I was trying to lose 9KGs (20lb) in a hope to regain my 2006 status. Myself steam was at its lowest (or saw I thought) and therefore I felt the urge to correct things.
Many things has happened sense then. Just to give you a taste I graduated from school, My old job lost me (since I resigned in protestation), then I joined another company in a managerial position, and I became a father of an extremely active and noisy baby girl (not to mention cute). One thing that didn’t happen though, is losing the 20Lbs. I lost my motivation for some reason and kept delaying the matter. Even worse, I gained another 10KG (22lb) bringing my total weight to 98.5KG (217lb). But all of that didn’t start an alarm. In fact I became little used to the way I look now like if my old self was just a dream or an imaginary status that never happened.
Things started three weeks ago when I visited my old employer’s offices to collect a delayed payment check. I met one of my old friends there. She recognized me after some time, and did invite me to a cup of tea. The look on her face and her reaction shocked me to the core. She showed me a picture that was taken in 2006. It was a picture of me that was taken in a party. to tell you the truth she had every right to be surprised (and for some reason upset) as it looked nothing like me. I took a copy of that picture and left the building.
I couldn’t sleep that night and felt the urge to walk. So I looked into my drawers and found my old running sneakers. I wore them and started walking to no destination. I also started thinking about my situation. It is not only my weight that bothered me but also the way I looked (10 years older to say the least). I was confused and frustrated. During the process, I realized that I’m 4.5 miles away from my home! With no transportation option, I had to walk it all the way back!
When I woke up next morning my feet were killing me and I had a good amount of pain in my lower back. But I was extremely happy for some reason. I went down on breakfast and boiled a couple of eggs and started preparing salad dish, which is unlike me. I don’t usually eat breakfast, and I haven’t eaten a boiled egg salad in two years. When I reached office I didn’t use the elevators, and opted for the stairs instead (which was bad since my office is on the fifth floor). Instead of my usual coffee I ordered green tea, which was another odd thing.
On that day,17th of May 2009, I came to realized that I started a bug for everything that is healthy and athletic. I started doing things that fed this bug which made me feel even happier. Since then I lost 6.1KG (13.4 pounds). I will hopefully continue to lose weight until I get back to June 7, 2006. The day that picture was taken in.

July 3, 2007
Hello again,
Yesterday was my first day and it was a good start. Although I started med day I didn’t really eat much before that. I only ate 2 pills of my fat burner before I go to college and ate a good meal from lame meat, rice, and mostly salad (more about that later).
In the college I didn’t really eat anything. I only drank tea with milk to keep me awake (actually a special type that is called Karack tea). I also finished 1 liter of water during the 6 hrs in the college.
My dinner was sadly “falafel”. Since it contains lots of fat I used the least amount of it. In addition I added a good amount of vegetables to the sandwich. No mayonnaise and least amount of ketchup.
After dinner I tried to study for about an hour however I ended up browsing bodybuilding.com. Not a waste of time then. After that I took the “before” pictures. I should say that I didn’t like it. I will try to post some of those pictures in my blog.
At Last it was cardio session time. It was basically walking on a treadmill for 45minutes. It was good I alternated the speed from 4K/m to 6.5k/m. Most of the time, I was in the lower end. It was not much but I was so happy that I actually started.
I took a shower and in few other minutes I went to sleep.

July 3, 2007
About 10 months ago I tried to make my body reach what I view as “optimum body”. Some unfortunate incidents happened since then and I stopped training for 10 months. I didn’t have time really to do anything. I’m still under the same stress.
I’m currently living a very bad life style. I start working every day at 7:30 Am till 3:30 PM. Then I attend school from 3:30PM to 8:30PM. The rest of the time I spend with my wife and family. Most of my food comes from McDonalds and most of what I drink is Coca Cola.
I’m 176 cm “5.6 ft” tall and before 9 months my weight was 78KG. Now I’m 89.5 KG. Furthermore, I was actually 92 KG days ago. That was a world record for me and an alarm has been triggered because I was gaining at least 1 KG a month. This had to be changed.
My Goal of This Month is to lose all the weight I gained in the past months. This means I have to lose 9.5 KG (19 LB) in 4 weeks. Naturally this is a hard goal. This is hard even for people with lots of free time and resources. It will be an overkill objective for a guy with super busy man like me. However, My goal is to lose Fat and not to make any gain to muscle. To be honest I may even lose some muscle during the process. I know that some “including part of me” that says this is not an achievable goal. I also know from my managerial experience that you always need to have an achievable goal. However, this is a challenge I have to get. I will consider myself a winner if I stopped the gaining curve.
